I love my Traditions Blunderbuss. It was the first muzzeloader kit I've ever built, it's served me well over the past few years and it get a lot of attention whenever I bring it out.

I’m definitely going to be ordering a Blunderbuss from Traditions. Love the fact it’s made in Italy, and has the ability to be assembled at home. I plan on using it for small game, at largest perhaps maybe a deer, however mainly for varmints, rabbits, and maybe some birds (not sure yet). I don’t have any guns at all yet, but I’m very interested in the topic, and challenges don’t scare me. I do want the weapon to be historically accurate, but I want it to last and not fail more than anything. Would like to pass this particular weapon down to my children, then grandchildren one day.
As far as for hunting, reliability, durability goes, would you guys recommend purchasing the Flintlock or Percussion ignition ?

I know this is 10 months old, but if you haven't bought it yet. Percussion is more reliable.

I want to try this, but since I can't get a flintlock Blunderbuss right now, no one has them in stock, I may pattern my Pedersoli Baker shotgun with its two 11-inch barrels just to see how far out I can reach. Right now I am taking out my doglock carbine to try and get a turkey with that.
