👀
i see you frog
tbh let me tell you what i think about FROOOOGGGGG spit
Holy fuck Audiotree. This one sounds so fucking lush. Shouts out to whoever engineered this session.
The dude conducting the interview is the absolute personification of the midwest alternative music scene. He's just so friendly and stoked. His session with Balance & Composure is so wholesome.
Ngl I wasn't a big fan. His questions weren't too good and he acted like every response was amazing. 5/10 interviewer
@@ilikeyacutg854 yeah he had good energy I guess but he essentially asked "what animal would you be" with a little extra. Kind of lame but the guy does seem like a cool dude
@@_Majunior Yeah I can see that lol
I mean, what was he supposed to do? Judge someone's answer to what animal they would want to be? He was a chill dude. We could use more people like him.@@ilikeyacutg854
Seth Rogen
I remember the first time I ever saw these guys. It was in this old Opera House with a wooden floor. The band set up in the middle of the floor, and the crowd gathered all around them, literally inches away from the band. They played Somewhere at the Bottom of the River, in its entirety. It got so rowdy at points, you could feel the floor flexing and bouncing under the weight of everyone jumping and dancing, and you could hardly hear the singer because everyone there was screaming along. I've been to a lot of shows, but that was one of the most unforgettable.
Their old concerts were rowdy and fun. One time we were in a small venue and people were literally bouncing off the ceiling while crowd surfing. Now with their slow depressing new albums......no point seeing them live unless you want to take a nap.
That shit I would’ve given a limb to see
k
Damn... until today that was literally the only album I'd listened to of theirs. I remember reading about how the toured the album, playing it its entirety just like you described and was so sad that I'd missed out. I'm so glad you got to experience that man, what a memory.
@@thevidon God forbid a band grow up, and change. If you were a musician you'd understand how boring it gets just playing the same shit forever, and over and over every time you record a new album or play show. Now THAT will make me want to take a nap, talk about boring stagnation. Them becoming better musicians and songwriters means changing up their style and how they perform. Not to mention they're physically changing as they grow older. That changes the way you play and write music as well.
[1:36] a Departure

this comment is the actualization of big dick energy, you're doing god's work friend
smore-phine you tha real MVP son.
this comment sucks watch the whole session. if you want the individual songs audiotree posted them in a playlist
Bless you, you angel.
This should be at the top. Prove me wrong
2022 checking in. This is still incredible. Everything about it.
Wow his voice sounds so spot on. Straight out the recording room almost.
If despair had a voice, it would be his
Anyone else love clicking random Audiotree performances and realise the band playing captures the sound you never knew you wanted to hear but you instantly love it?
and sometimes like sound you heard once ago and couldnt find no bandname or genre or smthn similar and AT LAST
it used to be cruising the record store and grabbing shit that looked interesting and heading to the record player plopping the needle and being like damn....this one is a must have. I kind of miss those days but it's nice having easy access and the digital age makes it all so easy.
Respire!
The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit - one of the best songs of all time for me. This session was also the first time, when I heard La Dispute
I'm excited for you. I wish I could rediscover these guys! Probably one of the few bands that is always exciting to listen to no matter how many listens. They've been in my top played artists for the last 6 years
Yeah The Most Beautiful Bitter Fruit is a lyrical genius at work for sure
This will forever be a classic session...and this band will always mean the world to me. Wildlife in particular contains some of the most emotive, powerful and relatable songs I've ever had the pleasure of introducing into my life. I will keep them with me until the end.
Edward Benz, 27 times is one the most chilling songs. Just gives me goosebumps. damn.
That and King Park are the two most emotionally impactful songs I've ever heard
@T RopE where so good?
Agreed; such an underrated Title Fight song. La Dispute are alright as well, I suppose.
King Park always gets me.
@@MrLynksys1000 don't forget I See Everything!
I swear that interviewer is like a stoned and excited seth rogen
lmao this dude is great
Really wish he would stop saying "dope" it's fairly annoying
Joel Gallant dude him saying dope is dope, man. Like super dope that this dope band with dope composition is in this dope studio making dope beats dawg. First memorable dope record dawg. Sick, dude.
Zakk2Gud Seth Rogen is a stoned and excited Seth Rogen haha
Was looking for this comment lol
Apparently in an interview Jordan said that he was stressed writing the lyrics for Panorama, paraphrasing, he said he wanted them to be polished. I think that one of La Dispute's strengths is the unpolished nature of the lyrics, because it translates feeling in a much more powerful way. Just listen to A Departure, or 27 Times; unless i'm a fool, I don't think that Jordan pondered for days and days writing and re-writing those lyrics. I think he went with his gut.
Keep on making fantastic music guys.
See you tomorrow night in Toronto.
I think my favorite bit of lyrics from them is in a departure "Maybe you know what I'm talking about, Or maybe you would have known? Or had known? Is it once knew? I don't know what tense to use." I loooooooooove that verse so much: the stream of consciousness, the writing, the figuring out of grammar. The fact that they put all that in a banger of a song too 👏
strongest verse i have ever heard is from Nine, man these are powerfull lyrics "i remember in a basement sharing sweat with all these stranger boys and girls "we'll change the world" we sang "we'll change the world" but nothing seems to change and they say none of them will listen, but i still see so much more power in that basement than in useless politicians"
@@MT-hj1nj that was the first song i heard by them, when i was in eighth grade. the part that stuck with me, trying to recall it correctly now, was, “have them lay us in a basement, smash some bottles on the ground, and say we couldn’t tell the difference between the feeling and the sound.”
The fact that this was published on January 19 (I See Everything)....
saw that too.
Okay, Edward Benz, 27 times gave me chills and made my heart slow down. Their stories are worth listening to. Thanks AudioTree (aka Audiofern) for sharing a great interview and performance.
You know when you listen to a band & you just picture them looking a certain way? these guys will fool you
THIS
I totally disagree haha, this is exactly what I expected when I heard about them.
Nah, they absolutely look like a post-hardcore band
I think what hero’s trying to say is what I experienced 🤷♂️ listening to this on pandora or Spotify, then looking it up and seeing WHO this voice comes from is like whoa 😮 I didn’t know what to expect, but still. The talking normal every day voice and face, then the yelling, the pain, the grief, the anger, the passion, from this dude .. not exactly... expected
I thought Morty did vocals for La Dispute
no matter how many years pass i always come back to la dispute
The engineering is always so good and I should stop being so surprised but I always am blown away.
Coming here now just to say these guys really hit me in an emotional way. Love their music and songwriting, always have. This is great.
The presence of these guys is just amazing you can feel the whole bands energy when the drums kick in and then the guitars omg just amazing
Still coming back for this performance...thank you!!!!
Lets take a moment and appreciate the camera work on this..
i had not even noticed it until i read this but god damn thats actually pretty quality
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
i cannot stand the camera work, way too many cuts and too much movement as well as the close ups. it's nauseating
@@sianas11 thats literally the point. its frantic, urgemt, unstable. its the embodiment of this music
I can totally imagine the camerapeople practically headbanging.
Wow from march 2012 that was exactly the month I got big into wildlife always remember running at night on silent cool streets listening to this masterpiece good times
this host is amazing.
I had no idea this existed and i'm so happy now
Ive probably played this whole session thousands of times since i found it a few months ago hahaah
Pretty sure this was the first AudioTree session I ever discovered online. Love the bands you guys get on here. Thanks so much!
"Did you say a fern on neptune? That-is-a fucking dope dude."
They need to bring this guy back.
I want to buy your audio engineer a beer
Agree
I want to buy them a bear. Thats how impressed I am.
Lets buy everyone involved in making this masterpiece a sixpack!
@@hanneswitt9842 Bear
I mostly just want to buy the audio engineer
I remember listening to the individual songs you guys had up back in 2012, these are still my favorite live sessions from these guys. I'm glad you guys posted the full session just wish i'd seen it sooner (y)
please have la dispute back for their panorama album
THIS

Jordan: *writes emotionally distressing and hard-hitting lyrics*
also Jordan: "audiofern live :)"
2024 anyone? 🥲 still one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard
Hell yeah.
Blowing my mind. Only discovered these guys a few weeks ago. Holy shit !!
And, btw, the singer is great. Fits this style of music perfectly.
Houuuu... je viens de découvrir ce magnifique groupe. Magnifique !
I love it when bands aren’t over engineered and end up sounding like the album when they play live. Love these guys.
THNX for this fam
CZcams recommended this to me, I was bored and clicked, color me surprised. This is amazing. Buying their albums now, I was searching for music like theirs for a while but couldn't really find it (yes, touche amore is similar, but different).
TODAY IS A GOOD FUCKING DAY
That host is pure gold, I swear. xD
this is just so well recorded and captivating
Bloody hell, I'm closer to 70 than 60, have been listening to some pretty out-there music for 40 years. But la Dispute might be one of the best bands I've stumbled across, Ever. Delivered to me by my 16 year old! Audio-tree has exposed me to some unbelievable music - Respire (another peak existential crisis of a great kind), Vasudeva, Sorry Youth. Too good.
Such Small Hands...and around your age
This is great! Brings back good memories
My fucking god. So beautiful. I love them so much
Nothing but love for these guys!
GOD YES I'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE THE ARCHIVE UPLOAD BEGAN THANK YOU A.T
Zao represent... first metalcore band I ever listened to as well. then came Poison the Well and hardcore. good old days.
oh shit, shout out to The Books too. that album is incredible. these guys listen to excellent music.
Chris Stevens hell yeah 1999-2003 PTW was my favorite. Opposite and Tear were and still are some of my all time favorites
This video is so good in every aspect. The sound is lush, the camera work is good. Everyone knows they're doing and it's high quality 🤌
Every song you sing is in unison to my world thank you very much and God bless*
Finding out this was just released on Spotify at 5am after a few whiskeys... yeahhh, idk if I'll make it to work this afternoon.
Just show up drunk and work twice as hard
“I WILL” so many chills years later
Transfixed by this performance. What a great band.
Amazing how the songs tell a story togeather!
wow they sound amazing live

Another great band featuring on Audiotree, didn't know them but they really kick my butt seriously !

Awesome.. como es que no tiene más vistas este video, es una banda genial, me encanta!! 👌🎶
A masterpiece.
I love Jordan, Forever and Counting from Hot Water Music is my favorite album of all time too, can't believe he shot them out
Just discovered this band! Holy shit! Audiotree always giving us the good stuff even before we knew we needed it. I love discovering a band and it consumes and intrigues my passion for music again.
lyrical perfection
I love this interviewer, great job Seth.
Saw them long ago when I was young at a venue in Indiana, a small living room some kids parents were selling the house in the worst neighborhood ever. Could only fit about 20 people and we were smooooshed. Some of my fondest memories
6:36 gives me bloody chills
What happened to the ''HELLS YEAH'' dude? He was the best...
it's right there at 8:40
cracks me up everytime
@@elgabrizav xD
He really was. I miss his energy and enthusiasm. The other main host (I forgot his name) is fantastic too.
@@elgabrizav thats not what they asked
This band is way tighter than i expected them to be. super impressed
That's dope man.
Audiofern live. Love it.
This is great
Are you telling me there was a full 40 minute live set of La Dispute recorded on Audiotree for years, of which they only released 3-4 songs? Are you serious? Still, happy to finally see this. I've found many new bands through Audiotree after looking for more La Dispuite, and I'm forever grateful.
the whole thing has been available on our website since 2012.
Well that is embarrassing.

OMG his question about what form of matter they would be cracked me up haha! But seriously, love these guys and the deep, profound meanings behind their songs, and the actual thought that goes behind writing them.... Love art like that. They've been one of my favorite bands ever since I started listening to them.
Jordan sounds fucking great live. As does the entire band. Phenomenal
Magnifico!!!
Dude. This host.
so good, everything just so good
I love him
Gay I suppose
Uhhhh this is so good ❤
I spent like 3 years tryna remember this bands name 😂🤣 finally found them again lmao

How is Relationship of Command a cliche answer? That's such an amazing and influential record.
It’s insane that the most beautiful bitter fruit is like record perfect? I was just vibing and forgot it was live 🔥
This interviewer is so stoned.
I'm about to see them live in concert tomorrow and for some reason this is the frist time I've seen what the band members look like.... definitely was not expecting this
