Watching this on a smartphone
Mister Anderson 😂 I think we all are.
I watch CZcams Videos like this while eating breakfast.
just watched matrix and i see your profile picture😁
Lol, me too
Crypto Pepe I think this video is for people that can afford a laptop
4:48 - _"you value your time @ $100/hour"_
Yeah, this guy's definitely a trader!
Lol most high end traders can easily make upwards of 50k/day. That be $6,250/hour if a 8h work day.
@@vaughan4254 "most" .... "easily" ...... ok
James Stilwell he clearly said high end traders, not the average trader
@@vaughan4254 96 per cent fail
Making it sound easy
It is with the right methods but there are a lot of scammers
100 Dollars an hour is actually what you pay a lot of personal trainer in europe, who aren't just "learned" it from youtube, but have a real background and scientific knowledge. So thats fucking peanuts. And those aren't even the ones who are making the big bucks.
this guy is smart. having shit ton of meaningless texts, chats add more stress than anything else. i quit that shit a month ago and i sleep better.
I ditched my smartphone apps in lockdown , no movies no WhatsApp no music no social media . I studied how to trade those 2 years for 15 hours straight like a mad scientist in a lab working . Zero distractions if I was on CZcams it’ll be trading podcast etc
When you have zero distractions that time when you sitting alone your constantly thinking and planning ahead that’s when creative ideas 💡 start to pop in your head . Whereas if u was listening to music or whatever during that downtime zero ideas 💡 will pop in your head ..
I’m not saying that’s how life should be forever but when your going through a transition and a learning / levelling up phase these sacrifices have to be made
Completely agree. Eliminate the possibility for any distractions or temptations and focus. Have been doing the same recently, though I have a playlist with piano music constantly on shuffle too. Perfect for getting in the zone and pushing your life forward. Just bought a dumb phone too as smartphone was still messing up my routine. All the best.
i am currently trying to do this exact same thing... advice?
@@nstanifer28don’t quit no matter what
I'm here in April 2024.❤... listening facts
Well said Anton
This is going to change my life... I will try this and see how far I can come...but seems to be another mile stone in my life. After stopping watching porn, eating Industrial sugar, reduced drinking to a very very low level, quit smoking, never did drugs. My life is getting better and better
The best advice I can give is something I learned from Tim Ferriss: turn off the phone and leave it in the car unless you absolutely need to use it. Turn it on, maybe once a day for 5-15 minutes, to check for messages and to stay informed. That said, I wouldn't completely ditch it, as they are invaluable to have nowadays, especially if you travel a lot or work in industries in which it's essential to have (like outside sales), just don't keep it on you 24/7. It's a huge time waster and productivity killer.
I gotta get real with myself and start doing this. What a waste of time to be glued on phones
Peter Karaverdian As much of a waste of time as leaving toutube comments?
Peter Karaverdian Its easy. Personally I am doing it in steps. Bought a Nokia, deleted all entertainement accounts on snapchat and instagram.
Deleted snapchat at all. And now I need to delete instagram and CZcams.
I ditched Facebook about 6 months ago. Best thing I ever did. So many wasted hours. Great video! Great advice!
Me too in 2014. Hell of a relief!!!
Try ditching youtube, instagram i dare you
@@golfrelax9795 I ditched instagram. CZcams is kinda tough.
Anton's face in the beginning like what the hell is he thinking of asking me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Police: where is your QR code allowing you to be outside?
Anton: I dont have a smart phone
Police: get him!
I think ditching the smartphone all together is a bit extreme. I went from a 6GB/mo data plan down to 200MB (for emergencies) and uninstalled all social apps and games. the phone is low end, too. I get the benefits of owning a smartphone (podcasts, notetaking, navigation, direct communication) without the distractions
Podcasts, notetaking and direct communication are exactly what he is saying will NOT help you. (You could find an alternative for notetaking if that's important)
@@pavimaris or u could use the smart phone for note taking since it's literally right in ur pockets....
Buy a light phone, it has or will get all of those functions without the distraction
Extreme is having a smartphone! The world is upside down.
So you basically stripped your smart phone down to nearly what Anton has anyway..... So not particularly extreme.
Anton is smart and I value my time just watching this video. There is just too much 'noise' in the virtual world which is really distracting when you are trying to manage time and become more efficient.
Amazing how relevant this remains in 2021...
This is by far one of the best videos that I have watched in CZcams.
So true I have to tell my sister to put the damn thing down when I am trying to have a conversation with her. They are the new crack, and distraction is the name of the game!
This is the best way to really focus and complete the work which you are meant to be doing. Thank you Anton. :)
Should be required viewing in schools. Great stuff.
brutal honesty these videos have such amazing value to them, so humble and straight to the point no bs :)
Exactly straight to the point and brutally honest is by far the best combination for educational videos!
Thank you for your insight, I really appreciate your perspective on valuing your time and overall efficiency relative to smart phone use.
Its some kind of addiction. I just find myself going through my smart phone without even noticing.
its the worst, because people always justify having one and end up always wasting time for no reason...on youtube or instagram or chating etc and in the end you think i just wasted hours doing nothing.
Anton, I can see, you're not only a great trader but also a great person. You exude wisdom and many expertise on financial markets. God bless you man👏🏽🙏🏼
Subscribed. This is right up my alley. I was born in 82 cant help but take it back to 80s trading and life
Pure Sense......nothing more,nothing less.
so true. whenever I go on a holiday i completely ditch the phone and use traditional maps or better yet locals... amazing feeling after a while.
Thank you Anton , 100% to value time , Thanks
I'm going to forward this video to my son. I don't have too much hope he will understand the message, but I will try.
I found this channel like 3 hours ago while studying for exams, and was considering just buying a pay as you go phone because not only im distracted but phones cost 1000 dollars now which is ridiculous. Thank you Anton, made it a very clear choice.
Maximillian Bogacz Nonsense, you can buy a GOOD smartphone for $150
10/10 Sir - listening to this at work on my IPhone
Thank you. I needed to see this again!
i needed to hear this SO BADLY. on my iphone way too much, been causing issues for awhile now.
Thank you very much indeed for the insight Anton.
I found that by disabling all notifications with exception to messaging services my productivity and efficiency has dramatically increased.
My device barely pings (maybe nobody likes me) and I forget it exists throughout the day.
I suppose you have to trust yourself to some degree by still owning a smart phone but such actions have helped significantly.
Did this for a year Was 100% worth it
True. Delete Facebook first, than the apps, and keep the smart phone :)
Then you'll just have an expensive dumb phone, just wasting money. Just ditch it and get an actual basic phone.
@@Non-religiou And leave the 'expensive dumb phone' there to collect dust? You literally just killed your own argument.
Delete all social media. Keep friends and family in one chat app and that’s it
I have tried this, but you eventually just end up downloading the apps again. Or using Safari to use FB or Insta hahaha
@@YuSuck not enough you talk with your friends and family personaly or by call you dont need an app to waste everyones time...
Thank you Anton! Great piece of advice.
I believe it boils down to discipline. My smartphone adds a lot of value to my life (note taking, taking photos of receipts and important stuff, talking to my family over the internet who live abroad, ...). It’s true that you’ll waste a lot of time on things that don’t bring you joy or don’t get you anywhere if you’re only reactive and not disciplined.
It’s important to keep in mind that not everything in life is a means to an end. It’s perfectly fine to indulge in things that bring you joy, even if they don’t improve a skill or make you more money. The key is to be aware of that and to be present.
Someone said it finally
6:00 is the most key message for anyone investing.
Don't get sucked in to a different type of news. If they tell you oil is rocketing, that's been happening for minutes and you're about to buy at the top.
Completely agree. That's why I give up as much as I can of any kind of mobile phone. And those who grew in the time when you had only landline(home or public phones) organized life perfectly like that.Unless something major happened you would not call again, things went on as agreed.
Great video 👍🏽. Thank you for sharing.
Love the video. I agree with everything said. That's why I got a second older iPhone where there's nothing on it besides: Phone/Text for emergencies, Audible and Information Products in Audio form. Works extremely well for me without giving up on the benefits of a smart phone being able to carry "books" and other valuable courses with me where ever I go. Been doing this now for a while and it's absolutely amazing. So I feel that could be a way to get the best of both world's. Thanks for this kind of content, keep it coming!
Valentino Kohen - you not making sense.
When you see your Pickup Mentor at your Investing mentor's comment section.
I've adopted this mindset... Thanks anton
I like his straight talk approach. No bs
There is no perfect moderation in this world.
There's only total abstinence and no abstinence at all.
Thanks a lot for sharing this invaluable video.
Thanks to my smartphone, I watched this video and learned valuable lessons from him. :)
timotius can do it on a computer as well to be fair
:D
Thanks for your advices🌷
Very good advice.
My phone ditched itself while i watch this ❤
I am not old but grew up and worked before email and smart phones and I agree with these comments.. Peoples business and personal relationships were all significantly better before smart phones and especially Facebook.
Well email came around in the 90s and it blew up around 95/95 so if you were working before that I'd say you've been working for a while.
Thank you Anton 👌
what a legend, agree with everything he says
Great economic-based views on everyday things in life from Anton :)
This man is talking facts hes the real deal!
i ditched a phone altogether for over a year. was eyeopening. Now have a smartphone again, but I have learned to "schedule" time to check things, and don't let notifications come at a whim.
Dope Bro!!!!!!! honestly Dope!!! i switch off all notifications and only view them once in the evening, i deliberately leave the phone at home also...
I was using an old banger of a phone for ages, I got a smart phone not so long ago and its really useful. I still use it for the basics and don't sit there looking at it all the time. I actually prefer it, better quality photos and videos aswell. Overall though I think it depends on how you use the smart phone and what settings you have on it, he didn't need it to be buzzing when he got an email that notification can be turned off.
I really like the example with how valuing your time with money is though, nice way of thinking about things.
decided to do this recently after watching this video a few months ago. switched from an iphone x to a $100 flip phone with google maps, voice, 4G LTE & hotspot. it's been 10 days so far and i'm now able to execute and finish a task as soon as it pops into my head. thank you anton.
Wise words Anton!
Totally right there's a lot of distraction with phone ringing every min For a none scenes notifications.
very very true, as one said once: ''we live in the era of smart phones and stupid people'', exceptional video!
We really do live in a society
I want to value my time. Ditching the phone ASAP. Props to Anton for keeping it real.
Cap
Anton.....You are The Best ...
Really Love this man
Such an inspirational gentleman ..!!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ..!!!
What your really saying is too much desire creates suffering. Desire is a distraction. This is the core of Buddism.
Really good advice.
Its 100% true what he says. Hes old school and knows the "the real cost" of having/using a smart phone! I agree 100% with him on this. Smart phones are awesome for certain things but you have to be very selective
You speak out what I tell all the time to my smart phone junky friends.
A real legend
Couldn't agree more Mr Kreil.
I keep my phone in another room when I'm working from home.
Ditched mine a couple of years ago, best decision I ever made.
I have to admit you are smart 😉 and disciplined and committed, that's your secret of success. Ditching the smartphone nowadays is the first important step towards success.👍
Great video
what is the thing that he said? Coal Turkey thing? please correct me in the reply below thanks
But what broker to use as a retail trader in the UK for stocks
I still own a Revier 3 flip phone, have important emails forwarded to me to see a few words, Quickly realized which ones are needed to respond to. Never regretted having a flip phone. My brain has actually time to think through decisions and enjoy the real life.
You can take a smartphone and don't use apps/notification?
What about using it for networking, building a social profile for business or checking open positions?
Clearly he’s read Deep Work 🙂
I’m going to do it
That "whats your downside" hit the spot!
Well put
Brutal advice for better life
Watching this on my smartphone
POWERFUL 👍❤️🙏
If I didn’t have my phone while taking a shit few months ago, I wouldn’t have discovered you Anton.
I no longer have cell service and exclusively use my smart phone over WiFi. It’s the best. I work 10 hours a day/40 hours a week. I don’t check my phone until I get home at 5 pm and it’s so refreshing.
This is very true..
Most people waste time playing games and posting their lunches on FB.
However I use my smartphone whilst waiting , having a crap on the loo to realist eBay items, check and reply to buyer messages so the smartphone has some use but use it in a smart way.
He's so right about the nothing messages. People don't think for themselves.
I love my phone. I can’t ditch it but I don’t use any social media, only CZcams, I learn ton of things.., it’s all about managing your time
The great British film Director Christopher Nolan also doesn’t have a smart phone and look how successful he is in creating such masterpiece films.
I agree in essence - but you can make use of a smartphone to check your broker, set up alerts at various price levels you want to watch, etc. What you should not do is install all kinds of crappy messaging apps (fb messenger, gmail with your heavily used email address, etc) as their constant notifications will drive you mad. There's also a way on ios / android to shut up all kinds of notifications from every app. So in essence you can use a smartphone but you need to tone it down use it almost like a regular phone, and use its smarty features only when you're on the go and want to check your positions.
It makes a lot of sense. Don't know if I'm ready to Ditch it yet. For now I've simply turned off most notifications of apps. Just left with Whatsapp that's always on. Unless i deem the text to be important then i won't reply until evening.
Thanks
This guys old school, fucken solid!
What about the camera though? I go places and enjoy taking pics, suppose I could take my old digital camera which is actually better than my smartphone camera and has a much better zoom and shutter speed, guess I just convinced myself!
Phenomenal point there that noise from the mainstream media will never make you money in the financial markets -- because it's **responsive**...of course, as with anything, this is not true 100% of the time (mainstream news can make you money on a rare occasion)...nevertheless, these are truly wise words, Anton!
My question is: what about the ability to use trading apps on your smart phone? Wouldn't this be important for when you can't get to a computer?
Too funny, at the end the guy recording sounds like he's in total shock at the realisation of actually doing it, as though he's just been given a terminal diagnosis! 😂
I can so relate to this, I can remember even going back 20+ years when smartphones first came out and I wasn't interested at all, but going to the pub with mates playing pool and I'd finish a shot to then see them all on their phones and I was thinking wtf is going on, nobody is talking to one another. It was like some distopian mindwashing had been done to them...
He's got a good point. They are very addictive. Turn off notifications
If you're addicted to your phone, turning off notifications does nothing. You'll still have that urge to pick it up and check or scroll mindlessly through the phone for hours.
No need to ditch..just exercise discipline over it. Make it serve your very best interests.
he is absolutely right. Don't create the chance for people to have expectation that they can get instant responses from you ever, unless they are very close to you like close family. I have a smartphone, but if I receive messages from friends that are not important, I just don't respond. It's such a waste of time. I hate it when people have dinner at the table and look at their phone or play video games.
