The painting by British-Zambian artist Hannah Uzor took inspiration from Kate’s cancer diagnosis video message to the nation.

Check the background of the artist that crayoned that picture on the cover of Tatler. You'll understand it was intended as disrespect. She did an entire group of paintings that, in the artists opinion, showed people of color that died as a result of racial issues, "during the reign of Queen Elizabeth". Britain has such great portraitists, and though the latest King's portrait got mixed reviews, it was still very powerful. His face was very expressive, showing the strength of his character. But this portrait of the princess is rather childish, you are right.
