William and Catherine started off the Invictus Games from their Royal Foundation with a donation of £1million pounds. Harry was given it later on. He did not found it by himself. It was William’s Royal Foundation with a lot of palace staff and ex service military personnel. Harry just did the video with the Queen.
I think the RF was trying to help Harry by involving him with Invictus. It was during his partying days and he needed some good press at the time.
Meghan's actions speak for themselves. Her "compassion and warmth" is facade, it's a game of publicity and fame to her and that teacher and those little girls experienced it firsthand.
