- Ocean Shores is a small coastal city in Washington State. It’s known for its long Pacific beach and network of navigable lakes and waterways. Just north, the shore pine trees and dunes of Ocean City State Park are a haven for migratory birds. South, Oyhut Wildlife Recreation Area and Damon Point are nesting sites for snowy plovers. The North Jetty has views of the city of Westport, across Grays Harbor to the south.
I’ve lived in Ocean Shores for over 30 years. Before there was an Ocean Shores my mother used to come out and pay the cattle rancher a small fee to pick mushrooms. Came home with buckets of chanterelles. You missed the best parts of Ocean Shores. The bay side,
which has a view of Mount Rainier and Grays Harbor, Duck Lake, miles and miles of canals, and Damon Point for beachcombing and collecting shells and agates. Downtown area has no atmosphere at all, and the beach is just kind of gray and blah except when they open it up for clam digging. Spectacular sunsets at the beach however, but the sunrise or the moon shining over the bay are equally if not more spectacular. Come back and do it right.
I’ve walked on the beach at Ocean Shores many times. Rode a horse on that beach once. It’s a beautiful place. I use to spend the night there weekly because my job was making deliveries.

Born in W. Seattle, WA. raised in Ocean shores, Wa. and living in Sweet Home, Ore. love all the videos of ocean shores, sweet home, hoquiam and aberdeen. Also there are pretty good swimming pools in Shores too and plus the Parks :) and the airport area. If ya ever need a helper i can help lol.
I moved away from ocean shores last June. Nice little town to live in but the politics of this town are crazy. I miss the beachs, and the sunsets and the days when the tourist invaded us.
Very weird, circuitous route. Either you’re familiar with the area or you’re completely lost.
It sure doesn’t look like the quaint intimate beach towns in California, 😞
Thankfully, nothing here looks like California.
