“I still use the piano, but with electronic music, you’re creating the instrument. You’re not just making the melody, you’re making a sonic universe that people inhabit”. -Jon Hopkins ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And so fucking true !
I met Jon at Webster Hall NYC and I miss him so much. HE IS A PIONEER PAY ATTENTION TO HIM. I remember asking him to help him carry his gear to the stage lol. One of the most important moments of my life was the five minutes I got to vibe with him at V.I.P. right after his set. This man is why I’ve continued to make music.
he resonates with me not only in his music but the words he speaks.
I first heard his song Circle on Soma.FM way back in like 2007 maybe. That led me to discover his first two albums which were on repeat for years. I remember pre-ordering Insides and was just blown away. I've grown and evolved over the years and I've been gifted Jon's music during that time which continues to evolve and develop along side me.
@@petertaylor9371 Insides is the real game changer. It's great to see his growth over the years.
He's one of the most real musical artists out there, especially in the "main stream" sphere. The things he says, I notice that he's been on this path to "ego-less true self" for a while. I've been listening to his music for many years, but I've never seen an interview up until now. His words are completely in line with his music: intuitive, pure, not trying to follow any popular styles. So much looking forward to his concert in Barcelona this November, especially since it will be my first concert since the pandemic (and getting badly ill with Covid).
You're right on the mark there
Thank you god fot this man!
