Run the dual plane with the comp 280 230 480 110 lobes if the heads are stock vortec head swap will help and mill cc heads to add some compression to 9/1 and a resin phenolic spacer to insulate the carburetor from engine heat. Try 3000+ stall converter 4:11 gears shift 6200 RPM run 22lbs rear tires run old worn out shocks on front or 90/10s and 60/40 rear shocks. Try adding ballast box or weight over back of car behind rear tires relocate battery to hatchback trunk area. Run electric cooling fans. It will run faster with the hood on.
Your car is in the 13's. Just bring it to the track. These onboard computers are not 100%. I did this years ago and the difference was 2 tenths, and 3 mph faster than the computer said in the car. Plus you will leave harder at the track. Don't be surprised if your car goes 13.6 at the track
The dual plane is where it is at. If you notice the single left the line with traction and the dual left chattering the tires. I think a little tuning and the car will go 13s. Also need more converter for that cam in a 305. 2800-3000 minimum.
Exactly what I think to he could probably go to a smaller cam on a tighter lsa and it would still go faster the tighter lsa would gain more cylinder pressure to
The cam is too big! Use the 270/470 magnum or the 268XE cam you will see a big improvement. The 280/480 is not making the power low enough. Your losing 60 foot time. Also if you add a 350 turbo or a 200Metric it will go faster.
I have a suggestion, lol. I always wanted to know if a th350/th400 gear ratios are better for drag racing than a 700 R4. I'm assuming you have a 700. I think a th350 with 3.73 gears or 4.11 would be make that car faster in the 1/4". I'm not an expert though, but I always felt like a th350 has better gear ratios for drag racing. Anyway, good video. I have been watching all of your 305 videos, and I find them very interesting.
I think once the stock 700r4 pukes out I’m gonna go towards a 350 or 400 just for the cost/durability. When it does I’ll make a video comparing the to.
@@Krikkebobbyracingchannel My theory is based on my 72 C10. I had a 3 speed manual the gears are 3.20,1.50,1. Even with a 454 it seemed like on the 1st to 2nd shift the rpm dropped too much and made the engine kind of strain. I replaced it with a 400 and the truck got way faster, but i think most of that was because i couldn't shift the little saginaw fast enough. Automatics might not suffer from this especially with a stall, so I'm not sure about my theory, but thats what I'm talking about. a 350 has closer ratios than the 700.
Duel plane will give you more torque but less horses power up top. Not all duel plane intakes are the same. Air gap will out preform the intake you're using now. Been there done that..js
I have a 78 el camino with a 305. should I call you out? 😆 we could call it a dragy challenge. it has a 2.41 rear gears and makes about 155hp, so maybe not much of a challenge, lol. I'll have to get my dragy video posted on my channel. do you have headers on your car?
Duel - a combat between two persons specifically : a formal combat with weapons fought between two persons in the presence of witnesses Dual - consisting of two parts or elements or having two like parts. (A dual exhaust system)
You're the only guy on CZcams that has managed to get me to watch content about a Chevrolet engine. Good job sir. Keep up the good work.
Get the heads milled to boost compression.

Couldn’t agree more
Shit I like your videos please don't stop working on the 305 my 91 is a mild modified 305 to
Needs a tighter LSA and a looser stall. More compression/better heads? But also needs a different engine😁 Nice job tho👍
Exactly what I think to he could probably go to a smaller cam on a tighter lsa and it would still go faster the tighter lsa would gain more cylinder pressure to
Good stuff man! Even if it doesn’t go faster with a change you are still getting a result. Keep it up!

What about a custom racey camshaft and a proper exhaust system? Also the ignition, if it can be messed with.

I would use the 200Metric it will drop significantly in time.
I think the edelbrock RPM air gap would be the best dual plain , it's what David frieburger uses on engine master's to make the most power
Pretty doggone good, for a 305 !!!!!!!!! Beats factory B2L 5.7's, to be sure.
