For those unaware, HK's 3 course fixed menu with an appetizer of your choice, beef wellington, and the toffee pudding is only $90 - $100 (for the meal only). For perspective, if you got the beef wellington separately and not for the prix-fixe menu, it's $75. And they're the same size. So with that already the prix-fixe menu is already a bargain. While $100 is definitely expensive for a meal, it's amazingly cheap for a meal of this quality. Restaurants with similar number of courses and food quality like this can average $150 - $200. Obviously it'll be more with drinks, but that's still a bargain. This is especially considering many people view stuff like Hell's Kitchen as one of the best restaurants they'll ever go to, $100 ain't bad for a meal that makes you feel baller (for the average person). Just in case people might misunderstand me, I am not saying HK is the pinnacle of fine dining (I've had what I consider WAY better), just saying that for what you get, you're paying a completely fair price.

Beef Wellington was part of my childhood and I don’t even know why… I grew up in PR. Just kidding! My grandpa made friends with a Spanish chef in Paris, and he convinced him to give the recipe to my grandma who made it so yummy! I had no idea what this was until I grew a bit older. When I moved to NYC I ordered it for myself and the ex-boyfriend (he tried to warn me), and the bill for the whole meal for 2, was almost $800.00s between appetizers, main and dessert. Let’s just say, I got real lucky that I came to the date quite ready to spend, and was able to pay for my meal and tip quite well. But, was quite short of a full 2 months. 🤦🏽♀️ This was pre-9/11 and I had a really good job. Just not Beef Wellington good. 😅 In PR, even high end cuisine isn’t half as expensive as in NYC.
