I find my floor lamp magnifier extremely helpful for seeing slight color differences. After pregnancy my eyesight was effected for a while 😊 love your flosstube ❤

Love your FFO on Monster Mash. Perfect for Halloween patterns. I took a 30+ year break from stitching and came back in 2023…started back slow and small with the Pinker-n-Punkin saltbox houses. I stitched around 10 of them…they are fun to stitch and finish.

Hi Megan! Ive never commented but I love your videos. Right now I am obsessively working on the deadly aquarium because the first clue dropped today. Regarding stamped kits, about 2 years ago i bought several on Tapestry Market. I AM WITH YOU! Super careful about copyright. I have seen several that are obvious rip offs but i picked outa scenery piece that could be by anyone. So comfort stitching. Everyone should have one in their WIP pile. Maybe you can start something. Great video, Megan! I ran into same issue with Garden Gate stitching Away We Ride by Blackbird Designs. The Garden Gate was nearly identical to the color Woodsmoke. I ended up buying a second skein of Woodsmoke to see if it would be lighter, and it was but only a fraction lighter.
Such a pain in the butt! Definitely need to swap one of my flosses.

That's the majority of what I've always worked on, but since I discovered ft I've been going bonkers crazy on patterns w fancy floss and picking fabrics...it's alot of fun! But there's nothing better than opening up a nice kit and going thru all the goodies inside! I've never purchased a stamped kit, but they do look like they'd b super fun! Everything Cross Stitch has a few riolis stamped kits and dimensions too but idk if they r just printed or if the design is actually "colored" on the Aida like yours if that makes sense. During covid I had purchased a joy Sunday counted kit from Amazon, not knowing anything about copyright and all that then, but since learning I did try n find this design I got but nothing came up. It's just a simple generic rainbow cat w a moon (on 11ct believe it or not! Lol) and I'm still going to eventually stitch it 🤷♀️ I wonder if the Stitchery or herschnerrs has stamped kits like that cuz u know they wouldn't sell stolen stuff... now I'm curious and may have to do some window shopping! Can never have too many patterns n kits, right?! 😉

I agree about the kits just being so much fun! I love it. It’s so nice to just have everything all together in one purchase too. I wish I thought about looking for kits sooner. I never knew so many were out there. What are you working on for the strawberry Sal? I can’t wait to see all the different projects people choose 😃😃
@TheSeattleStitcher I have mousys strawberry basket by luhu and also Strawberry plant by filigram but I haven't decided which one- I'm leaning towards the mouse one since it's smaller and I pretty much have everything I need for that one; the other one I still need to do a floss toss to see if I like the dmc conversion for it- I'd love to do silks but it'll be expensive!! Lolol...and the fabric I really want for the larger one isn't available right now....decisions decisions! 😂😂 Really tho I want to stitch EVERYTHING! ❤️
Hi Megan, you are right, i got today Strawberry Fields, Garden gate is more brownish and Tin Bucket is dark gray, i think there was a mistake, because the colours are different in my kit, wishing you well and happy stitching 💐

I have headband with magnification of various strength. I lower my glasses and magnifiers, that when I can look up to see the TV. I hope that helps.

wonderful floss tube as always Megan. It's funny when you were talking about the Strawberry Fields pattern I thought I should tell you about Melissa at Pinker n' Punkin but then thought you probably already know about her. I am glad you found her and like her houses they are adorable. If you want to join a SAL for the Houses in general, Michelle from MommaLovesYouGB is running a #pnpsixhouses2024SAL this year where she stitches 6 houses over the year, so roughly one every two months but it's not really a rigid timeline.

I am from your ‘neck of the woods’ near Tacoma, so naturally the floss tube ‘Seattle Stitcher’ caught my eye from the beginning and have always enjoyed your creative journey.
This is my present stitching situation: I am busy stitching everyday for others….every birthday plus Christmas and every season. I got so tired of it all that last week, when Blackbird released Yellow Submarine, I dropped everything and stitched it in a week. 😅Loved the freedom I felt just sewing for me. Then, when Pam and Steph started a sal, Nutcracker,( Twin Peaks) I immediately got that kitted up. Now I am back at gift sewing for May and June, and then I will begin the Nutcracker in July for the entire month. I think I may just get it finished in the month. I now realize I needed to make changes.
On the Submarine pattern, it called for tin bucket and garden gate fibers which really looked the same to me. They were not stitched together so I did not stress over it, although they did look different when stitched. I think my garden gate is darker. The lesson to be learned is that they do not seem to capture the same dye from one dye session to another. I have immense collections of floss from many years. Wow! What a difference. I just choose the shade I think works best. An older pattern colors can differ greatly when you go out and buy new. I think it is great when you consider other floss colors than called for. I am not so good at that.
You also showed a lovely green, grasshopper. I just received that floss and it was very dark green? After checking my project, I see I needed weeks grasshopper and was sent Classic Colorworks! Thanks for helping me realize that!
Enough for now….good luck on the many full coverage kits you have…..do not think I would be living long enough to finish one of those. Thanks for sharing your love of stitching and knitting with all of us. I also love to quilt so try to give each 50% of my time. Being retired helps!

No way I’m from Tacoma! We are not far from each other at all. Do you ever go to the pacific northwest stitcher group meet ups. The group is on Facebook but it think that would be fun to check out some time. I am so selfish all my stitching for me haha! I do knit a lot for others though. Thanks for the tip on the two flosses I will have to try and just stitch with them and see how it goes. They are both used in the bricks so they are next to one another and I’m hoping the difference is not subtle but much easier to see when stitches vs in the skein. Happy to have helped on the grasshopper color. Happy stitching my friend.

The Luca-S kits are amazing!
I love stitching Dimensions and Luca-S kits as well. Over the years I’ve learned different ways to tame the treads. With my Dimensions kits I hole punch above each colour to add my threads that aren’t finished and even run a highlighter around the punched hole for the threads that are in large quantities, loose in the kit; that way I don’t freak out that there is only one thread each time I go to snip it! I also loosely braid the main threads together to keep them from becoming a huge mess! Happy stitching with your beautiful kits.

Hi Megan. Pinker and pumpkin has so many fun smalls. I, like you, have all the saltbox houses printed. Not enough time to stitch them all. She also has Strawberry patterns, trying to pick one for the June Strawberry Moon SAL. I had already planned to join along.
I just got the flosses for Strawberry Fields and there is definitely a noticeable difference between Garden Gate and Tin Bucket. Garden Gate is brown and Tin Bucket is on the gray side. I think there was definitely something missing labeled on one of the colors you received. I’ll be starting this one in June too. I’m excited to see your progress.
I think I got two tin buckets! I’ll have to try and reorder garden gate. Ya know what I might have it in another kitted up project I’ll have to go searching first haha.
Maydear kits are ok, there was a shop in Florida that sold their kits Unfortunately I don’t know of any other companies that sell stamped kits.
Oh, Megan! I started laughing when you held up the stamped cross stitch and said it was 11 count. If you're not interested into stitching it on 11 count, consider it a pieced paper pattern and pick whatever material you want.
The chart is really nice so I definitely could see myself working off that and starting it on a 16ct LOL. Can’t believe I did that. Oh well! It’ll be fun.

Love that santa! I think it was about a year ago that mommalovesyougb made that video of santa cross stitch patterns got me hooked! I love a European santa but that 90s coca-cola rosey-cheek super happy santa is my favorite. You made such great progress! Thanks for sharing

Love your stitching. I exclusively use Aida. Been stitching for over 60 years (am 76 this year) & in my day, DMC & Aida were "state of the art". Kits galore for years. NEVER switched out the fabric. When a kit''s threads (like Dimension's threads) look great (already sorted, etc) I have used over the years an index card (with my one hole cuter) & put the loose threads (or especially blended threads) on that little index card. works really well. I always tell new cross stitchers: Invest in a one hole punch. It gets so I use an index card for almost all my loose threads, esp if you need to use 3, 4 strands per stitch. Aida is really terrific for full coverage (no one knows whether it is linen or not. The last few years I have taken a book or booklet of patterns & stitch almost 90 percent of all the patterns. I love them all. Another tip I always have a few smalls as they are done quicker, mostly bookmarks, pincushions & ornaments. Only draw back on Aida (esp 14 ct) is you really use up all the threads. Over the years, I have only one kit that didn't have enough thread. It was an off brand & was "passed on" to me (unopened) but really surprised I ran out of thread. Like I say, only once in over hundreds of kits that came w/threads. At my age there is no way I am comfortable stitching on such high counts. I mean 25 ct evenweave is award for me, so Aida it is.

I agree with the Aida for full coverage it looks so perfect! The stitches look perfect too. I just love it so far for my luca-s and the dimensions stocking. I am really into the kits right now and am definitely taking your advice on starting the smalls along side. It feels so good to just get something done. So much of what I stitch is huge! I’m sure it’ll all be done before I am 40 but still. That’s a lot of work! 😆
A Luca - S kit is my favorite. Garden Gate is one of my favorite flosses and I believe it is supposed to be darker than what you have. Thank you for showing all of the stitching. Xoxo

The witch was so cute. Congratulations on the full finish! Be careful with your stamped piece. I was looking at Facebook and I saw where someone had done almost 3/4 of a stamped project and accidentally spilled water on the project and the ink faded and ran. So now she does not have anything to follow to finish her project.
Oh my goodness what a mess! Luckily mine came with a paper pattern as well but no water near that kit for sure. 😆💜

I run into the same problem with Garden Gate and Tin Bucket allllll the time. It wasn’t too bad when I stitched Strawberry Fields but I’m running into more of an issue with those two as well as a couple other GAST colors on Octopus Garden. Stitched together they look like blobs of color instead of notably different sections.
Also, are you thinking of public domain? That’s what popped into my head when you were talking about art that’s not restricted. 🙂

Your finish is absolutely gorgeous and I love the fabric you picked for it!! Letitstich (because right now you like kits 😜) has very cute kit with Halloween ornaments on plastic which you can keep like that or switch to fabric and make pinkeeps!

OMG Megan! Welcome to the world of cross stitch kits! I have a literal TON of them in my stash lol! My favorite brands are Dimensions, Luca-s, Merejka, and Mill Hill. Also, I totally understand that nostalgia feeling with Thomas Kinkade paintings. There are actually some Thomas Kinkade cross stitch kits out there, and a lot with his Disney paintings, but they are all out of print and expensive on the second had market. You should look up "Guardian of the Sea" by Luca-S. It's a different artist but it looks just like a Thomas Kinkade painting. Dimensions also used to produce this kit in the same name but it's out of print now.
I am OBSESSED with them! I can’t stop hahaha it’s a problem 😂💜. So many beautiful kits and I love how everything is just already packed up and ready to start.

Hi Megan, unfortunately most stamped kits are from companies that produce unlicensed/stolen artwork. Im not aware of one that doesn't. Amazon also unfortunately sells joy sunday and other brands which are notorious for unlicensed/stolen artworks. Tapestry market, Aliexpress, joy sunday I would stay away from. But do want to say I love your channel and always enjoy seeing your project's. I agree I love linen but have discovered how nice 20 count aida is. Look forward to your next video!
I spent soooooo long trying to find licensed kits and I can’t find any! It sucks. I wish there was an option from dimensions etc but I have yet to find anything. I’ve been buying kits but only from Luca-S, magic needle and dimensions since really looking into it. Kits I know are real! Haha. I wish there were more stamped options tho. 😩

Regarding your printed kit, it looks like the original design by DOME (Korea), they had 4 seasons of these, I think the company has since closed down, not sure regarding the copyright at this point as it's been a while.

I’ve had problems printing the pinker pumpkin houses! Have you? What I’d the key to print them to size?
What I did was I clicked the actual photo I wanted to print (I chose the color charts) and held down my finger on the image that pops up a little “save photo” button on my iPhone and then I printed it from my photos in my phone because I have a blue tooth printer. I think she also has Google drive documents that you can click a hyper link to but I didn’t use those.

Girl! When you said “11 count!” I literally laughed out loud with you!! I know your eyes are liking Aida, but you could either return it to Amazon OR you could get a 22 count Aida/Linen. Just an opinion. But you’re awesome! I feel like we’re friends. I took YT off my phone, but I miss yours and a couple other videos, so I go to my laptop! Haha! ❤
