- In today’s video, we’ll be taking a look at Rooftops & Alleys, a solo developed parkour and free-running game featuring Tony Hawk Pro-Skater trick/combo style elements. It’s an early access title, so it may be a little rough around the edges, but overall; the experience is pretty good for it’s initial release. With improvements and future content planned, I’m looking forward to seeing that the developer, Michel, will come up with.

The graffiti at 12:00 into the video i think means JET SET RADIO, i was so happy to see this because i think its a throwback to an old game on Xbox which was AMAZING. like a rollerblade graffiti urban type game. best easter egg ever nice find lol

12:05 "Plane, crouching man, radio" is actually a Jet Set Radio easter egg. It was a game not too dissimilar from this, the dev probably played it when he was younger and wanted to add a little easter egg as a nod to his beginnings and, assumingly, part of the inspiration for R&A.
Ah, I wasn't aware of that; thank you for bringing it to my attention. I could never get into Jet Set Radio for some reason, the time limits always felt too restricting. - and thank's for watching! 😄 EDIT: Oh, and I see, it's literal - JET, (man crouching) 'get' SET, RADIO - I can't believe I didn't notice that until now! 🤣

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game but a majority of the depth comes from wall-slides/runs... once you figure out all the tricks its pretty easy to link 90% of them into one line. I'm hoping for a bit more variety in the tricks later on, but the night is still young for this game. I'll be happy to support it in the meantime.
I agree, and each trick's score in the game could do with some refinements. After some experimenting, I discovered that; continuously performing the Double Arabian with a roll, will absolutely cheese the scoring system, allowing you to get gold every time. I think adding some kind of “checker” in the background, that reduces the score of repetitive types of moves (looping ground moves, or air moves over and over again) would spice the game up more. It would add more of a challenge whilst pushing the player to be more creative.

Thank you very much! I chose 25 PAL as the framerate as my PC is good, but isn't the most modern or powerful, so when I cover other games in the future (and if they're more demanding) I'd have less performance issues visible in the video. I'll have to experiment some more... See what works best. 😄

So, I'm a big Session and BMX fan. I've had my eye on this for a while....but, I don't know if I'll really play it. It seems like it would get boring after 5-10 minutes. I have ADD and I get bored in a lot of games rather quickly. idk if I should buy this or not..I CAN"T MAKE UP MY MIND!!!
Firstly, thank you for checking out the video! 😄 As for whether you should buy the game... The price isn't too steep, and the game has already received two bugfix and tweak updates. Hopefully, it won't be too long before the developer adds more challenges.
It's fun, definitely! And it's certainly satisfying once you get the hang of the trick combos, as I have in the next upcoming video.
At the moment, it does feel like it needs a bit more work. Occasionally, the character doesn't act as expected, and the levels could do with a bit more fleshing out, but otherwise, I'm enjoying what I've played so far.
