It’ll depend on their records. Looking at their schedules, Texas could only have one loss and looking for a SEC championship spot. A&M will probably be at at least 2 going, possibly to either play spoiler or possibly a spot depending on how the rest of the conference does. It very well could become one of the most important games in who plays for the SEC championship, or possibly a head to head for a CFP spot. As an Aggie, I hope this scenario plays out.

Brian Kelly: I don't think he's overrated at all. However, when he accepted the job at LSU I put my money on that he wouldn't last 5 years. And it's not because he sucks, it's because LSU has crazy high expectations (you may even say unrealistic) and I don't think he'll be able to match them. They don't want 9-3/10-2 seasons, they want 11-1/12-0 with SEC champs and be in National Champ conversations every year. And I don't think he can pull that off. Heck, not sure there are any out there that can, outside of maybe Kirby Smart.
Talking Brian Kelly’s resume and not bringing up GVSU days is the first time I hove had a bone to pick with Josh Pate. Which is a “front-handed insult” so to speak.
Josh, you forgot to menton that DJU will be facing his old team Clemson with a chip on his choulder. By the way, the best game he played was at FSU in 2022.

May not be the most playoff critical game, but I think KSU and Arizona will be a game of the year contender. And A and M Texas should be on here, as I think everyone here knows.
Ksu - Arizona is an interesting nonconference game, and could be an interesting barometer for the conference race, but is absolutely irrelevant for the playoffs because it doesn’t affect the conference championship.
Winning inter conference games will be important for the big picture future perspective, but I’ll still be amazed if more than one Big12 team makes the playoffs. The acc only has a slightly better chance of getting two.
@@johnlee7085 It is a conference game, and potentially a pretty important one. And I free admitted that it wasn't the most playoff implication laden game. But that's not the only thing that makes a great game.

It is a game between conference opponents but it is not a conference game. It is nonconference and has no relevance on the conference standings. There are 2 or 3 such games this season resulting from the 4 corner schools joining the conference (Utah and TTU?). You can see that it is so by counting the number of games played against conference opponents. There are only 9 conference games but 10 conference opponents.

Agreed. The sec and b1g used it as an excuse to get out of tough games last year. It makes a difference for them but irrelevant for Big12, though I agree it is an interesting preview. I wonder how many crazy narratives will spin out of it.

Surprised he left out a B12 matchup like Utah/Oklahoma st or Utah/IA St. for games of the year. Those are some of my highlight games for the Big 12 to determine who wins the conference.

Seeing Nebraskas schedule and realizing it’s similar to psu and tOSU makes me wonder how many one loss teams could there be in the b1g? I know it’s possible to have a couple trios of undefeated Big12 teams at the end of the regular season, but what about 1 loss teams in the b1g or sec? Could that keep a slam dunk 2 loss Tennessee out of the cfp?
I think South Carolina is improving but as some say that schedule is gonna be tough. South Carolina needs to win 7 or 8 games this year. Next year isn’t any easier, but show improvement will help to build depth that they need to compete. LaNorris Sellers just needs to manage the first 4 games, gain that experience because it’s gonna be a tough stretch the next 3 games. Win one of those, then we have a shot a t a real good season. OL has to improve as well. Run the ball. I think “Rocket” Sanders should run at least 25 to 30 times a game in first 4 games. Dang I am rambling, good luck South Carolina. Semper Fi
Considering Texas has one of the hardest schedule Just because Texas has only one hard stretch through the season, which is Oklahoma Georgia is unnecessary. Look at all the other teams in the country and they schedule if you want to call Texas one of the big dogs and SEC then they’re supposed to go to schedule like that just because they only have a two game stretch doesn’t mean they have a hard schedule in the country. They want to talk about how good they are. They’re supposed to have a schedule like that.

Bama at UGA, Tenn and LSU moneyline as well as +1600 to win it all on FanDuel are all amazing bets. This is a top 4 maybe top 3 team with even more experience than last year. Also CFB is weaker than ever meaning that outside of Ohio State and maybe UGA there are no truly elite rosters

Big 12 Americas conference but no big games
The only Big12 game that will impact the playoffs is the ccg and that isn’t decided yet.
If OU wins the SEC, then I guarantee the chatter about the SEC bias and the self pat on the shoulder narrative will get extremely loud. OU’s roster has not churned that much and while the team was good last year; they didn’t make the Big 12 championship. If they walk in with a small amount of change and wins this juggernaut conference. Then a lot of people will point and say “see SEC is just the SEC because they say they are. They’re actually not that special.” Just my opinion.

Being out of conference, the michigan/texas game likely won't mean anything as far as getting in the playoffs and obviously for their respective conference championships, but its still a huge game. Especially for michigan.
Seemingly everyone is assuming TX is one of the top 3 to 5 teams in the country, and UM is set to take a step back, maybe a big step depending on who u ask. A UM win shows that TX is probably a bit overrated (which is my opinion) and UM is for real and a continuation of the harbaugh led teams of the past few years. It makes them (or at least should) the team to beat in the B10.
