    I just finished a 150km hike during 7 days, I can't imagine how much more difficult doing it running must be. And when you said mentally yeah I know what you mean.

      @@alexinsummer I'm not talking about K2 guys , I'm talking about the mountain which I mention Moses Peak from where you can see the highest mountains in the world.
      Whenever you start a short solo trip of 4-5 days, Moses Peak is a must. It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family tracked.its open Zone, one did not need a trekking permit or have to pay Royalty fee to climbed this Mountain tower

    Try picklejuice instead of crampfix (second the most vile concoction opinion)!

      Ooo, okay will try this - will take pickles over crampfix any day 😅

    Great insights, thank you for sharing! Thinking about buying my first vest, with a 50km ultra in sight. What are your thoughts re: vest capacity. A number of people/vids suggest 12L is a good size, but welcome your thoughts on this? Thanks again, Simon

    • @alexinsummer
      @alexinsummer  Před 2 měsíci +1

      12L is what I used and it fit everything I needed during the 100, including thermals, head torch, gels/snacks and plenty of water :)

    how do you deal with newbie shin splints. I cant seem to get rid of them and I want to get back into running. I have only ran one half-marathon

    • @alexinsummer
      @alexinsummer  Před 2 měsíci

      Shin splints suck! Med ball and rolling them out is usually my go to

      @@Backwardsninja468 i still run and they usually go away, just takes time. I would recommend seeing physio, I always see one at least once a month

      Try a different type of shoe, as in different drop and see how that feels.

      @@GTE_Channel I got hoka Clifton’s and it is so hard to determine what is the problem. Is it stretching, shin strength, stride, nutrition, so many variables it’s so frustrating and there’s not much video on it

    I’ve done quite a few 50K races and I can’t stomach anything
    No idea how I can fuel myself to do longer

    • @alexinsummer
      @alexinsummer  Před měsícem +1

      It can be tricky, my most recent race I struggled to stomach anything. On the 100, I just forced myself to eat small bites of food. Some fruit, lollies and a sandwich. If you're also drinking a ton of water with electrolytes and a lot of gels, that can also mess with your stomach
