    Yup, tail cap would have been a hit.
    The 35 with a tail cap. Sealed, 3k lumens, 21700, and a tail cap ...would have been a win.

    I didn't see this review before! Great review of a fantastic light. I have the E35 v3.0 and I love it. You're right about the gorgeous look of them with the copper accents on the black. FYI, I don't have the E28R, but I do have the E30R, which is awesome. However, since you love tail switch lights, I recommend you try out the LD30. It's almost the same as the E30R, except it has a tail cap switch. Awesome light. Keep up the great work!

      @Morpheus903 Před rokem +1

      Run times are better, but the Seeker 3 Pro is much more floody than the Seeker 2 Pro which results in the Seeker 3 Pro having slightly less throw distance than the Seeker 2 Pro. I own both the Seeker 2 Pro and the Fenix E35 v3 - both are nice lights, and so is the Seeker 3 Pro from everything I've read, so if you're in the market for a good value for your money flashlight, Olight probably IS the way to go, but if you already have the Seeker 2 Pro, I just don't see any decent reason to shell out for the Seeker 3 Pro. Just my opinion.

    I purchased this light specifically because it did NOT have a tail switch or external charging port. Both of those reasons are why I gave my PD36R away to a friend. I don't see the point in having two operating switches & the external charging port will be the first place water gets in. I will say, I do like the dual tail switches on my TK16 V2, dual switches are inconvenient when located in different places on the light, imo.

    As convenient as the Olight tailcap chargers are, I really don't mind having to take the battery out to charge. The benefit is in being able to easily charge the light with a standard cable and still have use of the light (if you add a second battery to your system). I'm glad to see the battery uses a USB-C port. I'm eager to see all charging ports move to USB-C.
    I agree with your assessment of this light's strengths and weaknesses, it's need for lower lumens in the eco mode and the inclusion of a tailcap switch. It would be an amazing light with those changes, although it would increase the price as you mention.

    • @ballinvsxx
      @ballinvsxx Před 3 lety +2

      I mean how eventually is eventually? Your point sounds reasonable but I had a pd35 that I used daily for work for 5+ years. I must have charged that thing 1000s of times And it was beat to hell on the outside, it was dropped it was hit it was submerged, went through freezing -20 temps to blazing hot machine rooms with oxy torches brazing near it. The anodizing on the threads barely even show wear let alone the threads getting worn out. Literally the top most thread has a little bit of silver peeking out the rest are immaculate.

    • @Lancealot3553
      @Lancealot3553 Před 3 lety +1

      @@ballinvsxx eventually depending on how you treat it, if you like the pd35 over olight I say go for it but olight has the pd35 beat strait out of the gate with it's waterproof level which means it seals better, only thing I don't like about olight is the way they make their lights very specific to their batteries other than that they make good lights, but yeah the pd35 is a great light too, but just based on the stats olight can beat it.

    • @ballinvsxx
      @ballinvsxx Před 3 lety +1

      @@Lancealot3553 my only point was that threading the cap on and off made zero real world difference, my light went through many more charge cycles and rough usage than probably 90% of the people that own these ever will. I would estimate at the rate it was wearing the threads “may” have a problem in 20Years the thing was still waterproof on it’s original tail cap o ring. The reason I’m even on this video at the moment is because the side switch on the pd35 gave out after 5 years and seemingly there’s no reasonable way to fix it, so I’m looking to replace with something a little more pocket friendly now that I’m off the tools. As for Olight the proprietary batteries made it a non starter for me, but that’s subjective.
