No politician is trustworthy, but Mueller has done some good things, whatever his role in the Pescadero flap might turn out to be. For example, he was suspicious that Caltrain wasn’t really trying to make sure everyone on their trains was paying for their ride (important because freeloaders make fares go up for honest people, and cost taxpayers money to make up the lost revenue). So instead of using tax money to hire a consultant and waiting a year for their report, he rode Caltrain himself, observed riders and conductors, and took notes. His report was a major embarrassment for Caltrain, revealing that many conductors were spending all their time on their phones instead of making sure everyone riding had paid.
Direct action like this is hard to find in a politician these days.

I love Pescadero. I used to stay at Pigeon Point Lighthouse Youth Hostel. They have a hottub overlooking the ocean.
When people vote for representatives to make legislative decisions on their behalf, that is a republican form of government. When citizens gather in a town hall and everyone gets to vote on the proposed legislation, that is a democracy. When representatives are voted to speak on behalf of a group of citizens before another board in solely an advisory manner, that is closer to a soviet form of government.
They aren't doing anything any ordinary resident shouldn't be doing - keep in contact with their representatives.

The old guard likes to manufacture scarcity in housing/water to raise rates in perpetuity in an otherwise abundant planet. “We got ours now we don’t want to hear planes or see apartments”. This attitude does not go far on other countries. Desal? Across the street from the largest body of water in the world? Doesn’t work they say. 😂. Will “saltify the oceans”. 😂. That’s not a thing. Salt is also a highly valuable by product. Luxurious desires of the elderly do not outweigh the basic human necessities of the rest of the population I mean.
