This shameful and madness from the ministry of Agriculture, this is very shameful. We have vast arable lands and population of over 200m people, yet we cannot produce food to feed ourselves. Minister of Agriculture, how long does it takes corn and mazi to grow 3 to 5 months? Where are the food. Why should you import food, you're exporting jobs. There are no foreign exchange, why will you get money to import food. This guy is talking nonsense, when you import food, you will kill the farmers. Our farmers need encouragement not discouragement. Why are you importing food. Nigerians will not stop importing after the expired date. We are not in war, the state Governors and government should be encouraged to produce food. No importation of food.

Minister for Agriculture is NOT HONOURABLE please, he his dishonourable, how long does it take to grow corn and mazi, 3 to 5 months, why or what the strategy to encourage farmers, local farmers, why do the Minister wants to discourage the local famers. If the government gives the fertilisers, the government can buy from the farmers directly. The local and state government can encourage the local farmers directly and buy from them. Importation will not develop our industries, Importation is backwards policies. Shameful. 150 days should be used for aggressive farming and production, of food. We are wicked to each other in the country, any time the government is trying to do something positive, there are Saboteurs in the country that would frustrate the efforts of the government. In other climes, India and US does not import food, they produce foods. Shameful to Nigerians, and Ministers of Agriculture.

The policy is a very good solution for the moment.
      1. There's food crisis and emergency have been declared.
      2. Insecurity & kidnapping has reduced the level of food production. The police/soldiers are not enough to guarantee security in the bushes.
      3. Farmers are unpatriotic. They took money from banks and some from govt to produce foods for our people buy they took the food across the borders to sell because of low value of Naira.
4.The middlemen buy the food from farmers, hoard it to create artificial scarcity and sell later at higher prices.
      5. Most of our farming land has been abandoned by the youths who prefer to ride okada and make instant money.
