Extra Long Russian Almond Nails in Gel | Gel Nails for the Gel Queen

Today we have Cheryl in so we can do LOOOOONG nails and cover the chewage.
I’m going to wipe over first and I’ve already prepped. I’ll do one layer of Bond Booster and then apply my forms. The good thing about my forms is that I can use all the perforated lines to customise the form to Cheryl’s hand.
I’m going to do my first layer in Medium Clear. I’ll make contact with the natural nail and the form first and then stretch the product down to a number 10. This is gonna be a nice thin layer just to start the nail off. I’ll remove the form and then apply my cover pink in a smile line. I’ll leave an empty bit at the back to add my A&A glitter and clear gel.
Once the smile line is filed, I can use White Out on the free edge of the smile line and then add Extreme Thick White Gel to cover the rest of the nail, quite thin and pop some bubble wrap on top before I cure. I’ll remove the bubble wrap and then I’m going to dot in my coloured gels like a barbie camo. Once it’s cured, I’ll file it so you can see all the goodness. I’ll add in gold mylar before encapsulating entirely in clear.
I’ll file again and then add all my bling and top coat. As always, finish with cuticle oil.

I’m a beginner at nails just doing them at home not professionally but this last month I’ve been binge watching your videos and have learned so much that today I have mastered the almond nail which was harder for me than any other shape I kept taking my sidewall up but learned from you how to place my forms and sculpt it out properly hopefully they are strong and will last, fingers crossed. The next shape I want to learn is this one but when I try I end up just doing an almond. 😂 thanks for all your help!

Fun tutorial to watch. Very pretty and interesting nails. Only thing..I thought at first you were doing a FILL due to stopping product short at cuticle. Even with the bling there, it looked grown out, vs putting bling on top of hybrid at the cuticle.

Do you like your E-file? And if so what brand is it? I'm a nail tech student at state college of beauty culture, and am wanting to purchase a nice one for practice in class, and then when I am certified to use for my business! This one's motor seems relatively strong, but also quiet, which is what I'm looking for! And as always love your videos! They are so educational, and I absolutely love it.(you're actually part of the reason I fell in love with nails, and took the leap to go to school!!)

So I'm obsessed with your videos. I have been debating whether or not to learn to do nails and I'm particularly interested in acrylic. It seems to me like acrylic would be, not necessarily easier, maybe less work than gel. What are the benefits of each? Why would one choose one over the other?
I taught myself to do my own nails and I've only worked with gel. It just looked easier to me, plus they say monomer smells really strong so no smell with gel. And you don't have to worry about that whole liquid to powder ratio thing.
