I want to say that Gotham (the TV show/series) did him some justice at portraying Nathan Darrow as Victor Fries/Freeze. I love Arnold, don’t get me wrong, but Joel Schumacher did Freeze dirty in that portrayal. My personal favorite actors for Mr. Freeze is Michael Ansara (Known for BTAS, Subzero and New Batman Adventures) and Maurice LaMarche (Batman: Arkham games) and Clancy Brown (2004’s "The Batman")
@@priyanshuthapa9907 it wouldn’t be no different than what Disney has done with Cruella and Maleficent. Granted, Disney has fallen way down the line on some of their movies, but there are some gems out there, including these two
It actually is too. I saw nothing, and it was a strange cold wind surrounding me as I couldn't do anything or think. Or that I got too stuck in thought and ended up waking up on the dirty carpet of my old room. The point is, sometimes your body can somehow do things while unconscious while when you put yourself in a stranglehold, you'll just fall. -Zach
Freeze wasn't a villian. He was, very simply, just a man. A VERY broken man. A victim of love and circumstance. Circumstance ruined his body, and love ruined his life. Love is one of man's greatest weaknesses. He just wanted to experience the love he lost. He was dedicated to his love and he was willing to sacrifice anything for it. Society defines him as a villain, but he's so much more than that. He is an example of humanity, and how life can rip that humanity to shreds for no logical explainable reason. An example that not everyone in life can just live and have everything work out. He doesn't usually get some magical "happy" ending. And even so, when he does, his happy ending plays out the same every time. It's life with his wife. She is all he wants. He does crime for the sake of saving her, and in the comics where he gets her, he dissapears. No more crime. Just him and his wife.
This one hurt a lot because while it can understood that Feeze is lonely, betrayed, and nobody cares for him, I understand it that, in addition to that, Freeze himself is so damaged and just done that not even HE cares if he dies. To me it sounded like "You're the only one who cares, Terry. Not even I do"
And in the end, when Freeze finally had a body that could feel cold, and survive in the sun without suffering. Only to find out that he was only given a second chance at life just for the same kind of corruption to try and take his life away. And in the end, he decided not to destroy Gotham but instead he saved it and was finally able to be with his beloved.
The saddest part isnt the fact he turned out like this, but that this still isnt the end of his story. In the distant future of batman beyond, freeze is still alive even more deteriorated as a head and given a second chance, a body that to eventually gives into his sickness. With no nora, no friends and everyone hating him, Victor goes to a factory and makes a large blast radius where he is then attacked by batman beyond, who beleived he was trying to hurt people, and Blight for no real reason other then the fact he finds Victor amusing. Once that battle is over, he freezes a wall Infront of batman beyond and tells him hes going with the factory and when Terry tries to stop him from ending himself, Victor's last words are."Beleive me, your the only one who cares." Terry then leaves because he and bruce know batman is still needed for Gotham and freeze dies in the now smaller explosion
Reason I love BM:TAS is because it made villains feel human whether it be two-face, Freeze, Baby doll or Harley, they were written as people, not just villains for Batman to beat around and lock up in Arkham.
To be fair tho, Mr. Freeze probably left his wife so she can continues her life without him. But we all can agree that the Harley Quinn show is the worst version of Nora. Like she literally slept with EVERYONE.
@@jessicalomeli6809 I heard this a lot but it started to sound like an excuses. At this point, it felt more like sex for sake of sex on audiences rather than an actual depth into character of Nora.
in harleyquin universe everybody are dumbs 😅 we got cuck lex, puny bats, deadbeat gordon and his cheating wife.... but we also got urbad dad joker, the only good and relatable ivy, emo nightwing and so on 😊 so his wife sex rage is kinda justified
The truth was that Victor had been sending letters to Nora, but her doctor hid those letters from her. The slimy bastard did it in an attempt to make her forget Victor, but in the end she learned the truth and set out after him after getting info from the orphan Victor cared for in Sub-Zero. Sadly he and Nora would be separated again with Victor's head actually sinking to the bottom of the ocean, which would lead into Beyond. This is from the comics linked to Batman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures, the art style of the latter being what was used in the story I mentioned before. However there was another comic where Nora's disease returned and she succumbed to it, leaving Victor in another spiral of loss to the point of stealing an artifact that he hoped would actually bring back the dead. This comic is also part of B:TAS and TNBA and introduced Azrael into the setting.
he wasn't in prison, his body had deteriorated to such an extent that he didn't want his wife to see the monster he'd become... and so just let her move on with her life.
Still heartbroken when you play the games of Batman and watched the animated series.Mr. Freeze doesn't deserve this.He deserves better just a broken man saving his wife
The best thing about Batman and Robin is using the backstory and motivation from BTAS Mr. Freeze. Sure, his pun-filled dialogue evokes the campy 60s show, but the origin was great.
Pretty sure Victor also give up in meeting her, when she was cure his body was already in the process of falling apart he refuse to meet her fpr years, for her Victor was Most likely dead Even until he show up again Batman thought he was dead
That in turn left him ain’t that a bitch bro should have asked one of the 20 people that can look into the furture if they were going to split up to go though all freeze did for his wife just for her to not look for him and move on marry her doctor and leave the city entirely that’s just screwed up
They kept his head into Batman Beyond where he was revived as Victor Friez, his doctor tried to assassinate him so she could use his body for science which turned him back into Mr. Freeze, then he blew himself up. Dude truly had the most tragic life
This is a reason I love the Arkham games. In Knight Freezes mission showed that Batman cares for freeze and lets freeze go at the end when he revives his wife. He even saves freeze wife in city.
He has so many different endings though, he takes the serum & sacrifices himself and dies next to her as she promises to always love him- that’s my favourite one…
You better not be mentioning the Harley Quinn Nora because she is the worst version bar none sleeps around like no one’s business I mean shit she makes that promise to always love him then takes it from whoever is willing to give it to her that’s just disgusting
I never knew the previous incarnation of Victor Freeze growing up. But it was the BTAS version that made me love the character growing up. They did such tragically beautiful work. The villains were still people, broken and damaged. Some still had hope of being better, while others thrived in the monsters they became. I don’t fully agree with everything the Harley Quinn cartoon has done, but Victor saying goodbye to his wife for the last time they did right.
Reminds me of Mercedès, the girlfriend of Edmond Dantes from the movie and novel "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas. Even after she thought he was dead, and got married to his best friend soon after, she never stopped loving him. All she did was try to ease her own loneliness in desperation, but the love within never changed.
Patbat would have a great trillogy. Enigma when hes still green and makes mistakes, Deathstroke after he realised he needs to be more than vengance and Frost to teach him that some people just had a really shitty day once
