- Me & Warena shoot across to Tora for the night. The plan was simple, to snatch up a few crayfish for new years.
We had a lot of fun and cooked our kai on the fire. We also tried out my cheap craypot and it actually worked lol

Brings back a lot of memories. I grew up there and went to Tutuamuri School. A fantastic place. My brother and I used to beachcomb and dive just about every day.

Awesome bro, will give that a try next time. And might take it out a bit deeper lol We were blown away that it actually worked. The guys at the shop told me the crays wouldn't enter it as it was a new net, and only once the shiny steel had rusted a bit it would work. Love it out there. Campsites, toilets rubbish collection and to think the SWC were guna shut it all down. You pay a donation to use the sites and its worth it coz there's Kai everywhere. Waters near always clean too. Nice video

How do sus the sea forecast for down there bro?
Cher my bro I run a combination of apps. Windy.com is my main one in conjunction with swellmap.com.
The windy app has a good camera overlooking the Tora coastline which helps me gauge the colour / visibility of the water and the size of the wave, sets and timing.
I use these two apps for most of my trips. But again sometimes the apps are teets and inaccurate. Nothing beats boots on the ground. Cher cuz. Winny

Any of your ruku bros dive tank? I’m looking towards getting my cert but I missed the new years classes. I sat the course in boarding school but never made the second open water dive so incompleted but yea bro wanna get it and go out there see what it’s like under there. Wish I had a camera too so many cool crayfish families with crack up characteristics.
Yeah my bro I’m a tank diver and both my good bros are. But haven’t been on the bottles in a long time so might need a refresher lol I did my cert through DiveHQ in Petone. The owner Claire is farken awesome and a meke instructor. If you are keen gimme a bell bro and we’ll go out. I got a few meke kina / cray spots for the bottle, 6-10m deep. Or if ur keen for a freedive just gimme a message cuz. My whare here at Moa Point stop in for a drink lol Ch ch 🤙🏾

Hey bro wat location u at wen u get into tora we definitely ainte deep divers would love to get a few crays for new years if they that close to shore
Kia ora bro. As you enter Tora instead of taking a right turn across the bridge we took a left and headed up the road a few kms towards Te Awaiti. There’s crays all along the Tora coastline bro, and all in the shallows. Obviously the closer to the road the more divers would hit, but if u can find a nice spot a bit further from the road it should be a good time Good luck, stay safe and have fun.
