Gorran, on bass in this one, has recently reappeared heavily online. He's doing live chats and posting/streaming travel vlogs, songs, gigs and busking sessions. One was 5 hours long! Mostly acoustic folk. He's been traveling since The Big Push separated and has every intention of continuing his troubadour lifestyle for foreseeable future. Is fine with getting together to do some shows as TBP. Romain is very actively pursuing his solo career full time, and has beautiful songs and performances well worth reactions. Glen, the drummer, is working in computer tech I think, not pursuing music, may be living in Australia now? They all joined in the live chat on the last Big Push song that premiered. Indications are they will have one or more reunion shows sometime.
Yes Ren does all the mixing. He went into pretty deep detail in one interview - I forget if it was CharismaticVoice. He doesn't just run it through an auto program. Especially in the live stuff and the one take lapel mic stuff he literally goes note by note for volume and tone etc. He's extremely meticulous with it.
If interested look at the Charismatic Voice interview with Ren. About 3/4 thru the interview he explains how he mixes in detail, the software and hours upon hours of time he would take.

Definitely hit up "Swan Song" by The Big Push. It's one of their earliest original songs. Haunting.
And the song was written by Gorran in 2016.
It was the first official video they shot which is so unreal. Gorgeous song.
I know you have likely noticed this about Ren's music, but he uses some unusual note and run choices. I am pretty sure that this comes from listening to his father, Martin Gill, play the lute with his ensemble "Temps Clars" who play medieval court music at music festivals around England and have also, I believe, played in Europe. REN knew he had VERY extended treatment in Canada planned (16 months so far?) so it wasn't really practical or fair to keep the guys waiting.

The hat is known in the UK as a "Flat cap" which was originally worn by manual workers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Still worn today but more as fashionable headwear for women in fashionable circles.

It's super funny you picked this one today.... Ren is currently in NY! He's going to be in NY, NJ and CT over the next 2 weeks. He's having birthday fun with friends and filming a music video with Chris Webby!
My favorite Big Push songs are "Sweet Little Lady" (the live version is my favorite but both are worth checking out) and they have a Fat Boy Slim cover "Praise You."

I love the dog also, a bit too much. It made me a bit sad, the past several years I have lost the last of the dogs that I had due to their illness. I miss dogs, and not having any more is breaking my heart.

You won't find one bad song from TBP - they are all so supremely talented and as tight a band as I've seen in ages when they perform.
Would love you to check out some of Romain Axisa's solo stuff - no one makes a guitar sing like he can. I'd suggest Time After Time (live) as a great starter.
I am so happy to see you guys doing this one!♥ So much better rendition than Sting's. They were just in the vibe and having a nice jam session and doing it perfectly!!!♥ I watched/heard Sting doing this. I wasn't impressed. haha
The Big Push may get back together but Ren's found such success on his own this past year it would be impossible for them to return to a busking band. Ren said he'd still have trouble touring.. he would have to limit dates, leave longer breaks etc. He's also trying to get a Netflix deal and he's got another album coming out. I think maybe we'll see some occasional concerts or maybe guest appearances but circumstances have really changed.
