Congrats on the tune! I’m running the OTT SEMA Tune right now but will be changing it next week for the Magnuson OTT version, super excited to see the supercharged version! Hopefully only takes me a day to install the Magnuson 😂

I have a 2016 TRD Sport and went with the Pedal Commander....loved the response factor. It really wakes up my Toyota...BUT!!!! It always brings in the CEL alarm and my truck automatically goes into limp mode???? You have to clear that CEL alarm before everything goes back to normal? Well after numerous times of dealing with this issue I took the pedal commander out!!! Great Idea but seriousl, it has major issues!!! Now Leaning with doing something like this
I’m glad I got the OTT… I’ve noticed amazing shifting and starting to see great gas mileage (for a Tacoma 18-24MPG)
Many guys with plug in devices will eventually cause you to go into limp mode. Common issue. Get OTT!
I got a 2016. But I solved the shifting problems by simply buying a manual. lol. I had a 2010 auto for 2 years, I couldn't get rid of it sooner. Great video.

KD Maxx all the way, 2021 TRD - paired it with a Sprint Booster that I already had. It’s a completely different truck, absolutely no gear hunting and as fast as you want throttle response. Lifetime updates a plus.
KD Max sounds like a waste of money if you also have to buy a sprint booster. I already made that mistake by buying a Pedal Commander and it was a waste. It was fun for a little bit, but it got old fast. also, you wanna be very careful that your sprint booster may not put your truck into limp mode. I highly advise that you disconnect that, but totally up to you. Whatever floats your boat. Thank you. for watching.

I’m coming from the B58 platform and everything was plug and play. I loved it! Is there a HPFP upgrade needed for 93 or E50 blends? Also is there any software out like Bootmod3? Where I can just tune my truck and adjust accordingly?
I know there is octane learning. I’ll find out about the bootmod. I think you can get the VFtuner and do your own tuning but I’m not sure. I’ll ask RC tuning FL (ralphie) see what he says.

@@SuperSailorboi yeah I’m in the Jax area as well. I absolutely love it. I can’t say I see an increase in horsepower but I definitely can tell you if you have a third gent Tacoma and you’re tired of the gear hunting issues with the transmission it completely fixes that. My future plans for the truck to install a supercharger. I’m just hung up. I’m going a pro charger or a Magnuson. Hopefully I’ll hear something soon From RC tuning Fl.
Our tunes are octane learning, any good quality 87-93, the tune will automatically adjust. We never felt the need to mess with e85, e80 etc. We never saw any gain, at least on the Toyota/lexus platform

Absolutely it shifts way better now
Gotta say my 23, bought April last year and have not had any shifting issues. Power is good and acceleration on point for small truck. Avg MPG is 23.
How much true performance difference have you noticed and increase or decrease in MPGs?
Great question, give it about another year and some long drives, then you will notice the shift issues, especially when the cruise is on. It gets annoying.
As far as MPG haven’t noticed a difference but I drive on the firmer side. Performance wise, I didn’t Dino anything and I have a cold air intake and modified exhaust. I had the pedal commander and have since got rid of it.
My main reason for the tune was to get the shifting corrected and it did. Supposedly there is a HP gain. I don’t have any evidence for it except what is on OTTs website. Other people who get in my taco who own a stock taco say “there is a noticeable difference, what have you done to it? So there is that. For $450 definitely well worth the shifting fix.

Haven’t had any noticeable issues with my Tacoma shifting or hunting for gears in probably 15k miles. (47,000 on the clock) it’s a 22 TRD sport. Gear hunting was noticeable when it first got it but it’s like the transmission learned my driving habits. 80% highway, 15% “cursing” speeds 35-55 , then
Guess there is always an exception. My 2018 gear hunting was terrible…. Glad I got the tune for sure for me.

If only that were true. Each vehicle has to be registered with the software used, along with many other fees that need to be paid. I only get a small portion of the tune cost.

Hey man, this is directly from RC tuning FL- "6MT owners love the wider power band, the better REV matching, less Rev hang, throttle response. I can set the throttle aggression as the driver prefers. Take the pedal commander off!! If you turn it on with the tune it will put your truck in limp mode!!

Spicy is when I put the truck into ECT
Noticeable throttle response change for sure. Also no janky pedal commander needed!
these tuners... where do they get the tunes that they sell to people?
So they have access to all the tunes from OTT and each individual tune is assigned to the number. It’s all done through crazy magic with computers. That way they can keep all of their tunes proprietary. Now, if you are hard-core, you can buy a VF tuner, and I believe you can tune it all yourself.. but go with God on that one.
@@SoarAndMore where does OTT get their tunes? Do they use a program to create the tune? The tune just doesn't come from thin air. Not just OTT, but all these other tuners. Or do they just buy this VF tuner you mentioned and go from there?
@@THEajballard so if you go to their website, they tell all this information. Basically they have a whole performance shop where they create all the tunes themselves and what they do is they sell each one of their individual tunes and have it completely tracked to the Vin of each car. That’s how they do it the tuners themselves download the specific tunes and then they assign the tune specifically to each car that comes to buy a tune. OTT themselves does all the research. Does all the fuel mapping does all the gear shift change ratios 100% in shop. If you go to their website, they have a very detailed way of explaining it.
any gas mileage gains?
Great question! No- not with the way I drive. I average about 18 MPG. If I got like 60 on the freeway- maybe like 21 MPG. Shifting issues are completely fixed. Well worth it for me. Thanks for watching!

Octane learning. Any 87-93 good quality octane is fine.
You guys have to check out Joe Rogan‘s Land Cruiser seven never seen nobody do this to any SUV this thing is a monster you just had to see it for yourself there’s a few different videos online I watch one the guy was detailing it for Joe Rogan then I can’t remember the name of the video the guy who actually did all the work he’s driving it and he’s the videos he’s explaining everything that he’s done to the shot for Joe Rogan I would take that Land Cruiser over any brand new SUV or pick up that’s how bad ass this Toyota Land Cruiser‘s👍👍👍👍

I watched it again last night they have like 3000 hours into rebuilding that truck the front seats are from the seven series BMW and the steering wheel or just the whole build that call Chuck was rebuilt from the ground up everything that was done or even the paint job looks really great
