Why each failure mode is scored in the areas of FMEA on a scales from 1 to 10 or from 1 to 5?
Is there any resources of these areas (S, O, D) to get the score of it?

      Hi,
The scoring in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was developed by the United States military in the 1940s.
The 1 to 10 scale in FMEA scoring is used to enable a consistent and detailed assessment of risks.
Although the 1 to 10 scale is often used in FMEA, there are also variants that use a 1 to 5 scale. This depends on the preferences and needs of the organization implementing the FMEA. The choice between a 1 to 5 or 1 to 10 scale depends on the specific context and requirements of the project or organization. Some organizations may start with a 1 to 5 scale for a quick assessment and then move to a 1 to 10 scale for a more detailed analysis.
Both approaches are valid, and the choice should be based on what is most practical and useful for the specific application of FMEA.
Resources for the FMEA can be found here: www.aiag.org/quality/quality-core-tools/fmea
