Why each failure mode is scored in the areas of FMEA on a scales from 1 to 10 or from 1 to 5? Is there any resources of these areas (S, O, D) to get the score of it?
Hi, The scoring in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) was developed by the United States military in the 1940s. The 1 to 10 scale in FMEA scoring is used to enable a consistent and detailed assessment of risks. Although the 1 to 10 scale is often used in FMEA, there are also variants that use a 1 to 5 scale.
