One of the most outstanding achievements in War Thunder is getting enough kills, assists, and point captures to spawn a nuke in tank battles. There are some vehicles that make this task relatively trivial, though. The PT-76-57 is probably the easiest tank to get a nuke with, but the AMX-30 DCA isn't too far off I think. This French SPAA is a close relative to the British Falcon, but lacks a stabilizer and has a radar. The cannons on the DCA are absolutely devastating and allow you to tackle most threats with ease, as you have access to both APDS and AP-I which acts like APHE.

or turn it into a helicopter, just remove the turret, tracks, engine and remodel back, make armor thinner, no more than 30mm on front armor, add a helicopter engine and tail and everything alse that is needed.
turns out the AMX-30 DCA has a very very small spot under both guns near the turret ring that has 320mm of effective armor. So it can just barely block a M48A2C APCR. That man got extraordinarily unlucky 2:45

Nah... dude, he just shoot through the tank with APCR that didn't do any damage because there was nothing in the line. It just barely scratched the viewports of the other side of the tank
@@dust_gale3108 You can very clearly see where the shell is in one frame of the video. It is going for the right side of the turret just bellow the barrel. Not the view port on the far left. A bit of spalling from the impact probably just hit the view port. Also literally any penetration of the AMX-30 DCA will detonate the massive wall of ammo that makes of the entier front of the tank lol. The armor on the DCA is also plenty thick enough to generate alot of spalling

I think the reason that one guy brought the SAV 20.12.48 up to 8.3 is because its HE is surprisingly capable, and can easily one-shot most missile carriers, armored cars, and SPAA. It also reloads faster than any of them save the SPAA, and is surprisingly mobile. Also it's funny when it works, like bringing the Sturmpanzer to top tier.
The SAV is honestly a god tier tank. I love using it in high tier because it's so fast and can pretty reliably one shot.
Is say same goes for the Brummbar, it man have a slow reload but it can turn most A113 derivatives and any other missile carrier for that matter into a large crater

idk if it was a dev server thing only, but getting a nuke in ground arcade actually stops the game from ending even if either team runs out of tickets unless the nuke gets shot down, but as long as the nuke is spawned and flying the game won't end, why can't that be a thing in round rb

I've gotten a nuke in arcade once in the amx 13, the game doesn't end even if one team loses all of their tickets
Perhaps you should make a, serious, "The Spookston Problem" video. I honestly feel like you make every vehicle look good when you play it. And should should the opinions of above-average players really influence the game for those who aren't so good?

Gotta love how snail guy couldn't be arsed to even clip the radar of the DCA into the protective housing when you turn it off, they just half-arsed folding it down. But they'll model the most minor details of other vehicles in the big3. French tree moment.

Nukes should halt ticket bleed. This has been a suggestion by so many for so long, big names to. I remember Phly was complaining about it.
I started laughing so hard when you friendly fired that plane. The moment of silence was so relatable.
Spawning a nuke should stop ticket bleed at 100 so it never stops a nuke win, but doesn´t punish having the lead and a nuke simultaneously

Hey Spookston, you should check out the change for the M247. They removed its AP shell and replaced it with a SAP shell. What used to be 94mm of pen is now 36mm, but with the same explosive filler as its HE shells (262gram equivalence!). Will we get a video on it?

The nice thing about SPAA is that they negate Gaijins armor models that result in hits just getting absorbed into a void.
The other day I shot a British Avenger with 17pdr AP into the hull and managed to hit the exact pixel that makes the round non pen for some reason 😑

I just had a nuke with this piece of tank on the map you had it, but actualy dropped it few seconds before losing. One of my best tank ever.
You should try the sidam, either the mistral or base varient. It's certainly an spaa of all time.
Being completely realistic, the lack of search radar, no mixed belts, no thermals, and a pretty poor complete ammo load makes me question why both are so high in br
The cause is 2 fold: first, much like the amx30 dca, players who play Italy and France tend to be better at the game and overperform. Second, I genuinely find it better at taking out planes than the gepard. You just have a much nicer density of rounds shredding a wide area
please play the goofy AMX-10RC with its thermals, APFSDS, laser rangefinder, and neutral steer (in an AC) at 8.0! fun little thing, stock grinding it as of yesterday
Try out the ZSD63/PG87, it's seriously under rated especially AFTER it's reload buff.
Play the l-62 anti 2, its a rank 3 br 2.7 Swedish (but actually Finnish) AA, 66mm pen SAP round with enough HE filler to 1 shot anything it can face.
I used it for the summer event and its like the low tier equivalent of the pt-76-57
I've gotten a nuke with the amx-30DCA as well, that thing is a monster.
4:34 maxing out aa features could help, also idk about radeon software(been using only for a few days), but I think in nvidia control panel you can stack aa and sharpening on top of what's in the game.

They should make it so when there is a nuke in the air and alive, the match cannot end due to ticket bleed (and once one faction runs out of tickets all ticket bleed stops, to stop a nuke from sitting at the edge of a map and letting both sides tickets go down until its a draw when he dies) so that if you've won the match but have a nuke, you can end the match with the nuke unless you are shot down.
Also I'd like to note that almost all of his kills were against 7.7s and 7.3s. Meaning British and Russian MBTs from the 40s and 50s. Note that he's driving a tank from the 1970s

My first nuke was with the ZSU-57-2 (Honestly no one uses it as an AA, more like a Light Tank), I was just messing around the map and didn't realized I had enought points to spawn on it. I don't remember how I died, but most probably I rushed their spawn, and at the menu for respawn I noticed I had the nuke, I spawned, but it was on the Soviet TU-4. Didn't even reach the map.
It's too slow to as the light tank, we called it as the Apocalypse.
If I remember correctly there was a point when games wouldn't end if the last person was in a plane I seem to remember playing a match like that when I first started warthunder

Amx-30dmca. Its the same as this but all the sounds are all replaced with copyrighted ones.
Can you play object 268? if you get to downtier, there is no kinetic round which can penetrate you frontally (expect the small wakspot next to the gun)
Funny you mention the game looking grainy at 1440. I just upgraded from a 3060 to a 6700xt and suddenly, even with just FXAA the lines are way cleaner. Not sure if it's just my imagination. I would have to record side by side to be able to definitively say. But just from playing over a year with the 3060, and then immediately seeing a big difference, I think something is up.
Back in the day Radeon had an advantage over Nvidia in rendering some effects more cleanely. But thats was very subtle, and is a long time ago.
That sounds like a driver issue or game bug.
Last week I got a nuke using ONLY Puma (2.7 then) in a 6.7 game. That really made my day.
I have a suggestion for you Spookston, I can’t remember the name of the vehicle but it is a tecktree French anti air at 4.3 and I have a lot of fun whit it, 40 mm gun and awesome turret rotation and 60 km/h. Think it’s called amx- something something.

I got a nuke on my first game today with the STB, to bad the game ended before I could drop it, it would be nice if the devs stopped all tickets from going down when a nuke aircraft was spawning, or if the game ends at least let me stay in and drop my damn well earnt nuke, I didn't kill 12 players and cap 2 points for nothing

Seventeenth video asking for the Spj fm/43-44, it has a 15 sec reload, and fires 8kg TNT equivalent HE shells, while at br 1.7.
When it comes to nukes i always count it as long as I can spawn the vehicle tho I do have a counter for drops as well still I’d count it as getting a nuke

I confirm that I had way more fun with the DCA than with the MBT counter-parts. AA guns are plain broken in this game. I think it's due to all those raging "HITS" moments that shouldn't happen, that are compensated with the high RoF of AA.
