Some extremely questionable content from Freddie Starr. Ali didn't seem to mind. I was unsure whether to post. Not condoning or approving it, just achiving it.
I haven't watched Freddie in years, he was a class act, he could even make Muhammad Ali nervous he moved and thought so fast. This was a class show 2 greats together on the one show.
Not many people know Freddy had a bad speech impediment he had to struggle with it every day For me Freddie the best comedian of all time also a great singer. Very talented man. Always made my Mum and Dad laugh as did me and my two sons few generations all laughing. Never see the likes again and yes was treated disgracefully re media and press even when latter two had no evidence off wrong doing
A very precious and special man indeed! I miss him too as if ever I’d get home really stressed,Freddie could cheer me up instantly! Such a talented man who was unjustly marked as a nasty man ,involved in the yew tree investigation!..it ruined his life and career and he died all alone ! Treated awfully…but he will never be forgotten….a pure legend! Rest in Peace Freddie..loved always. X
Yes I agree with you completely, Freddie was a fast thinker, actually I think Muhammad was showing signs of cognitive decline even then. 2 massive personalities.
😅😮😂😂😂 Gods among men all of them (No doubt about it.) in 2000000 years people will still know & love the three of them & all the work they do. Rest in peace boys. We will always love you😢😢😢😢😢😢
Met Freddie in Portsmouth in late 70’s when my youngest brother did boxing. Freddie showed up out the blue. Safe to say no one was interested in boxing that night 😅 and my eldest brother had a picture taken with Ali when he came to England in the middle 70’s. My brother was 4 so Ali picked him up and the news paper people took the photo. Beautiful memories of these men. May all 3 RIP.
Commenting as I'm watching this for the first time. Ali!- my Irish gran jokingly called him ' my 'hubby darlin' and I'm kicking 70- was the humblest man contrasting with him self calling himself 'the greatest'. No one watching the clip of his acting as the black farmer's spokesman would come away thinking that was Ali. He was an actor! 😎 Can't wait to see him meet Freddy Starr shortly mhhh, nhhhh!
Yes a media witch hunt stopped one of the best entertainers in the world. He was so talented covering all bases. He made a lot of people uneasy as he was so unpredictable.
Freddie starr , I love you and always will , you just make me laugh and feel just happy , no one will ever come close to how you made millions of people feel , you are a genius , that you lord 🙏❤x
I remember watching this the night it was first shown. Ali and Starr must of really got on well together because there was a story c a couple of days later where Ali walked into a night club carrying Starr under his arm. I would imagine Freddie put him up to it..
Oh Saturday nights! Our parents went out. Grandma would allow us to stay up late. Upstairs Downstairs. Parky and Russell Harty. I miss those gentler times 😥
I agree with you. And it was even better in the early and mid 70s. Used to joyfully spend Saturday nights in front of the box growing up as a teenager. A very special era. Match of the Day around 9.30, then Parky, and a good film on BBC2 as soon as Parky was over (not to mention all the good programmes from about 6.30 until the 9.00 news). I used to live for Saturday night TV in the 70s. A golden age for the BBC.
He talks like he's a dozen beers deep. Poor bloke didn't realise it at the time but his speech was already slowing down and he mumbled some of his words. He's still thinking sharp but it doesn't translate to his mouth fast enough.
thanks for the uploading the whole thing, truly a rare find! Just letting you know it was 1981 not 1982! It was before the trevor berbick fight. Awesome interview, Freddie Starr was pretty funny too lol
Freddie was once the top earning entertainer in britain. Desrevedly so. He could do anything. So talented. I like this him telling Ali the joke. He KO’ed Ali with that one. So cute😁
Ali, amazing man, icon, however even in this interview he is clearly not the man he was. His speech is a little slurred and though clearly intelligent still, something is wrong, Tragic, bless you Cassius,
Freddie Star was a genius...I remember that show, we'd never seen Muhammad Ali captivated like this before. That story at the end is one of the greatest ever bits of TV in my opinion. And re posting or not... why shouldn't a white guy immitate a black guy and visa versa. We're all people.
Unreal that when Parkinson mentions possible " brain damage " around the 1:30 + mark some audience members actually start laughing as if it's some kind of joke...bizarre 😪❤️
One of the best interviews I have seen. Ali and Freddy had me in stitches. I will need to save this and watch it again and again. Only wish Freddy hadn't used the N word. Wonder how many people have made Ali jump like that and get away with it lol.
Sean, you are a product of the current times. If you had really heard what Freddie said and the context in which the black community had endowed him with that label as a term of endearment hence his recounting. Learn context and take your finger off the trigger buddy.
@@izadoru it's called having brains which clearly you still havnt got if your trying to understand why! BTW using the N word is ignorant no matter what colour you may be
I think Freddie was a comic genius who just became stuck with the same act for years , writers with any talent would have had a diamond in their hands , that's not to say he didnt do extermely well though .
He (M A)had basically and unfortunately had an external lobotomy since his last encounter with M P - method carried out by too many forceful blows to the head.
WELL Andy YOU ARE SO FU*KING RIGHT ✔✔ SAW THE MAN A LEGEND IN EDINBURGH 2 at the playhouse, and at Blackpool !😁 and saw him in Spain HE looking not well ! BUT VERY polite and well manner , he said he love the UK BUT there in Spain was great ? Because he said he get left alone🤔😣! It was sad to see a man , THAT enter the world , on tv , theatre and video, DVD,S for year's was treated that way ? So sad 😞 , and still sadly missed ,R I P FREDDIE,,,
Well I wasn't disappointed-sublime in companionship amongst the three of them, even within the strictures of the TV schedule. Marvellous! Karma is a bitch indeed-now the media who hindered both the interviewees are called 'the legacy'-goodnight! 😎
Boy that man really got Ali’s attention more then anybody. What a unique character and free personality. Simply amazing and breathtaking to watch him.
Genius. Original and very clever on the comedic front. People were truly frightened of Freddie!
It's criminal that Ali had another fight after this. It was clear he was badly diminished at this point.
Freddie almost gave Ali an heart attack 🤣😂🤣😅Two of the loveliest blokes ever 🥰.
I haven't watched Freddie in years, he was a class act, he could even make Muhammad Ali nervous he moved and thought so fast. This was a class show 2 greats together on the one show.
has there ever been a better spontaneous interview. anywhere anytime
Not many people know Freddy had a bad speech impediment he had to struggle with it every day

What a great moment. Thank you!
Two completely different personalities but both of them true top legends
Everytime l see him l feel we lost a very special man . Love him dearly.

Both legends
You see in Ali's eyes the surprise when he realises that Freddy is on his intellectual level. Both on the same bandwidth.
Yes I agree with you completely, Freddie was a fast thinker, actually I think Muhammad was showing signs of cognitive decline even then. 2 massive personalities.

A fabulous entertainer, just makes you smile, there’s no one now who is anywhere close to his talent
What a talent
More talent in his finger than our sat night stars?????
True
They were both entertainer's, so who are you referring too. Words are very important, this is why education is so important.
@@patrickdoyle9369 I was actually referring to Freddie Star as Muhammad Ali while being extremely literate wasn’t always a bundle of laughs.
Two great icons
The greatest TV presenter with the greatest ever boxer and Freddie Starr and he had Ali in stitches and tears proper TV at its best
A very remembered entertainer with so much talent!
Love freddie starr a genuis at work ..... The media killed him 💯💯💯
So true! Legend

Mohamed Ali... what a gentle man! 😔
He was...and so was Freddie Starr!
Oh man what a night to see,, funny and wow he jumped out of his seat how things were way back
Ali & Freddie ~~ Two Legends ! 🌟💚🌟
Yes a media witch hunt stopped one of the best entertainers in the world. He was so talented covering all bases. He made a lot of people uneasy as he was so unpredictable.
Three of them are gone, R.I.P, 😢😢
Sir Michael Parkinson RIP 1935- 2023 😢🙏🏻

Sad situation with Ali by that time.
Not for a minute do I believe the Mayo Clinic said he didn’t have a problem.
He talks like he's a dozen beers deep. Poor bloke didn't realise it at the time but his speech was already slowing down and he mumbled some of his words.
He's still thinking sharp but it doesn't translate to his mouth fast enough.

Have changed the date, thanks.
Freddie was once the top earning entertainer in britain. Desrevedly so. He could do anything. So talented. I like this him telling Ali the joke. He KO’ed Ali with that one. So cute😁
Freddie had so much Coke in him that Bowie blushed.
Wish I could like this twice.
Thanks for the uploading . Freddie Starr was pretty funny too Lol ...
Saw this on the night it was first on. Brilliant TV.
Wow must have been something never get this now.

Liverpool legend
I hope this show it on BBC four in the autumn on Saturday night
Ali was the handsomest Blackman on the planet ….Rip Champ
As impressive as Mohammed Ali always is ; Freddie Starr stole this show !
Muhammad
Let's call it a draw, actually if say Freddie could box by the way he moved, even impressed Ali
All three have gone now---the world is a smaller meaner place.
Ali, amazing man, icon, however even in this interview he is clearly not the man he was. His speech is a little slurred and though clearly intelligent still, something is wrong, Tragic, bless you Cassius,
You mean Mahamed..
Ali is amazing 👏
Fantastic,,,!
The amazing Freddie Starr 😂

Different times
Sean, you are a product of the current times. If you had really heard what Freddie said and the context in which the black community had endowed him with that label as a term of endearment hence his recounting. Learn context and take your finger off the trigger buddy.
Don't get why us gammons get slated for using that word but it's ok for the Black's to do so. Eg: a lot of rappers use it.
@@izadoru it's called having brains which clearly you still havnt got if your trying to understand why!
BTW using the N word is ignorant no matter what colour you may be
The Ray Charles was a bit dodgy
Such a beautiful, gentle funny man.
I think Freddie was a comic genius who just became stuck with the same act for years , writers with any talent would have had a diamond in their hands , that's not to say he didnt do extermely well though .
Legends.
Good old days x
Blimey freddie owned the show here and Ali seemed like him
43:30 Starr's rather unique way of 'blacking-up'
He (M A)had basically and unfortunately had an external lobotomy since his last encounter with M P - method carried out by too many forceful blows to the head.
Freddie stare 1970 Royal command performance
Wow Freddy stole the show
Mohammed Ali knows his own image to the public.
He's also a little bit of a comedian.
I hope u like it Gillian
Brilliant
A true great
Sad that all three have left this world 😂
brilliant parky just let him get on with it
u share the show with the greatest muhammad ali yet u steal the show. increadible
Ali was so freaking handsome
They cut out Freddie doing Ray Charles brilliantly🤔 that’s criminal 😁
43:25
Game knows game. It's class.
I support and care for 39 as if it was just off the top of his head.
Freddie was terrible. Way too much Nose Candy...A very Awkward show for Parky

And to think he died broke and a fan paid to fly him back and bury him sad.
FREDY. GOT A. L 10 OUT OF 10. 😮💯
Why flickering picture
Probably recorded off the telly.
He even did black face as well, different times
Same par as the king when he sang
Well I wasn't disappointed-sublime in companionship amongst the three of them, even within the strictures of the TV schedule.
Marvellous! Karma is a bitch indeed-now the media who hindered both the interviewees are called 'the legacy'-goodnight! 😎
Ali is surely affected by something here!
Freddie Star 22:30
If he did not fight at this moment on Parkinson. Maybe Mohammad Ali the greatest of ALL TIME could still be with us . RIP CHAMP.
Pure Ali, he was treated bad.
Starr’s tight flares are a little questionable!
So funny. X
Muhammad Ali wasn't right.
Must be mad with shoes like that must be only 4.6 feet
Ali was a shell, but it wasn't the boxing it was "Parkinson's" oops
He was so chuffed he said the N word
Ali cashies❤❤❤
Hay Karen I'm subbed and will stay that way has long as you keep up these peach 🍑 's 44:25
