I saw this in 95, 2 years into my love of punk rock and was blown away. I bought the album and realized their live show is better than the album. FtF, salute, 28 years later. Never stopped loving these guys
This is gold on so many levels. Great performance, rhythm guitarist not wearing a shirt on National TV, punk rock on National TV, and finally Ed Lover and Dr. Dre as guests. Thanks for posting!
I would give anything to go back to my teenage years in the 90s. I suppose I’m being nostalgic but I don’t give a damn. Hell of a fun time we had in that decade. Southern California was a fun place to be a teenager in the 90s
Right!? We were lucky af to grow up prior to social media and phones everywhere. Albeit getting new music involved going to a sam goody lol, but the shows, the skating, the music, THAT TIME!
I was 5 years old. this music was imprinted into my soul , hearing it when I was trying to listen to NSYNC but my older siblings had better stereos, so glad I grew up punk
Just saw these guys open for Flogging Molly tonight at the Hollywood Palladium on St. Paddy’s Day. They’re much older than this now but still have just as much energy and sound just as great.
The energy!!! Of the 90's....!!!! Me doing a 540off a cliff in mammoth with my mini disc playing...this!! Thank you, guys for 2decades of amazingness💪💪💪❤️
Saw 'em around this time. Still one of my favourite ever gigs. Just a blast of energy I'll never forget. One of the most underrated bands in rock history imo.
Ah the 90s. Jon Stewart always had cool guest bands on. I saw Face to Face in 1994 at the Cadillac Club in Fresno as a 3 piece. A bouncer beat the shit out of some dude and Matt threw down his bass all pissed off, stopped the show and almost ended it. Wish I still had that tour '94 shirt I bought. I was 16. What a night.
I was wondering if it was Jon, body language is right. We didn't get UPN in Canada at the time so I have NO IDEA what this show is.... He's just an added bonus to this :D
Love the Nine Inch Nails sticker on that bass. These guys are AMAZING live. Philly, not sure what year, maybe 96/97? I waited ALL DAY in the freezing cold to be the 1st person in line to get into the show (I was scared that I wouldn't get in because they had a small maximum capacity limit, the place was tiny). For the life of me I can't remember the name of the venue, small clubright between Market n Chestnut on 2nd Street, Philly. Not sure if it's there anymore. I was 17/18 yrs old. Got there at like 8am BY MYSELF lol n was the 1st person to get in. My friends came later. I was right up front n Trevor pulled me up on the stage n I was singing "Disconnected" with him. I remember them saying at some point during the show that this was being recorded n would be available (on cassette probably, lol) to buy in the future. I could never get my hands on it, especially difficult because I don't remember the name of the club and my friends don't either. That night was a highlight of my teenaged life. I loved these guys and I still love them now at 42 years old.
My Garmin thought I was having a heart attack but no I just heard this song for the first time in decades and had to do a one woman pit followed by air guitar... ok and clearly that bass solo slaps 🔥
@@c-dublife Jer Asuncion is right. Blink 182 and Face to Face were definitely comparable in both their stage presence and music in the early and mid-nineties. Even as they moved on to write better songs, they kept their chaotic punk energy beyond the 90's.
So I was trying to figure out how I missed this band. I mean I was a big fan of social D huge fan of nofx, lagwagon, and altercockers DK, Black flag, etc. But I totally missed Face to face and couldnt figure out why. Now I know. I graduated high school in 94. I immediately shipped out to the Navy. I guess these guys must have hit around 95, and nobody I mean nobody that I was serving with that I knew in the service liked punk. Plus it wasn't cool to like Punk at the time. It was cool to like rave shit. Cuz that's where you could get the acid. Which was what everyone did cuz u cant pee test for it. So, I missed face to face. Up until LAST YEAR. How fukt is that??
Great sound quality for TV. The TV mix always sounds like such trash. Nailed it could hear both guitars, bas drums and vox. And the box weren’t to load. This is almost never the case for tv mixes. Great listen.
24 years and I still listen to this song. Now my son listens with me. Can't beat the classics.
Absolutely amazing performance, right here! Damn, I so miss the 90's.
Matt is such an underated bassist, he and Jesse Buglione are the reason why i learnt to play bass with fingers

There’s no way in hell that song is going on this album.
heh this song is still brand new to me like 20 years on
Nope.
But there's millions of people who have no heard it yet......
We don’t want to drive it into the ground
No offense, Phil

Matt Riddle. One of the great punk rock bass players. I salute you, sir.
+ Matt Freeman.
Scott Shiflett is no slouch
@@dublev78 yea I came to say the same thing. Shiftlet > Matt Riddle. Sorry not sorry
@@dublev78 Scott is unbelievable too!
ROGER LIMA
Amazing bassist… And using his fingers too. Mad kudos! :D
Desolate Soul Matt Riddle in my opinion is the greatest bassist ever. Between F2F and NUFAN he never ceased to amaze. And NEVER uses a pic
Matt rulz 🤟🏻
@@Jones-eq4bs he killed when he played for Pulley as well
Bradley Jon yes! I love pulley!
a comment this is always how you can tell someone is fat and can’t play an instrument

@Zac Atkinson that’s super cool

Yes! Yes it was!!
Man, they just come exploding into that set! What a performance. The 90's at its best right here
Just saw these guys open for Flogging Molly tonight at the Hollywood Palladium on St. Paddy’s Day. They’re much older than this now but still have just as much energy and sound just as great.
At the same show....They still crush it. They dont make em like them anymore.
James Lee
Seen them 6 times in the past decade, twice with my teenage daughter.
Her mouth fell open at what HER music used to be.
Y'all are lucky. Being in the country in TX .. all I've got is CZcams
It's impressive how similar it sounds to the album record! Such a great band live!
Face to face is still one of my favorite bands. Hold up even after 25 years
The energy!!!
Of the 90's....!!!!
Me doing a 540off a cliff in mammoth with my mini disc playing...this!!
Thank you, guys for 2decades of amazingness💪💪💪❤️
Nah...a sick mute grab backside 180...tweaked!!!
sure ya did
Absolute criminal
One of the best bands of the 90’s
It's 2020 and I'm STILL wishing it were 1995 again .....
This is mixed incredibly well. This song never gets old
Blind - AOK - Complicated - Velocity - Disconnected - I Want - Nothing New - You Lied
The Take Away
Big Choice is amazing record..great performance!
The best bassist of Face!!
One of my favorite punk songs by one of my favorite punk bands. ahh the memories
Should be titled Face to Face live on The Jon Stewart Show"!!!!

Why don't you reach out to the band and ask them?
The Khyber/Khyber pass pub? I know they played at the Trocadero a few times and Franklin music hall. Those were the days though.
My Garmin thought I was having a heart attack but no I just heard this song for the first time in decades and had to do a one woman pit followed by air guitar... ok and clearly that bass solo slaps 🔥
What an awesome time this period music was, kickass performance by F2F here, they were one of my favorite pop/skate punk bands of the time.
This is the face to face I remember back in the 90s 🤘
So much cocain but i just love them ❤️
This song means the world to me!
Vocals are flawless
Such a damn good performance!!!
face to face forever!!
WOW THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING!!!! an outstanding performance wow wow wow
god dam they were feeling it lol
As they should lol awesome performance
Some Angus moves in there
2024 and still awesome still better than most even these days.
Much Better than album version
Incredible!
god i love 90s pop punk < 3
Great performance by a great band.
I remember seeing these guys a year prior to this opening up for Guttermouth in a small venue at Old World.
Best song ever !!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU WILL GIVE UP
Fuck I loved that album. I jammed it on my diskman in study hall so loud I think that's where my tinnitus started!
Just remember Gen Xers, Trever Keith is an old man with a grey beard now…..and still killing it!
So damn good! Especially this live version 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 really good lyrics as well
Best band to ever come out of Victorville!
I love this band
Fucking drummers rolls are absolutely gross. Love these boys.. my late teens ears were lucky to experience these tunes.. Never be another like em.
Platinum track, F2F a lost jem !
Such a good band. Their style is very similar to 90s and 2000s Blink-182.
you have no idea how off you are. you're comparing skate punk to pop music?

@@c-dublife You've never listened to blink pre-Enema era and it shows. A lot more simplistic a sound, but just as "skate-y" as Face To Face
Eh, I'd argue early-mid 90's blink only. They ditched a lot of the og sound between Dude Ranch and EotS when they kicked Scott out
Matt Riddle Rob Kurth...the real face to face
Whats up Jason, your cuz Adam, lol. I'm watching this at work.
Jason Gonzalez hell yeah!
Scott schiflet is great too. The álbum of 1996 is the best for me. But this formation is really very nostalgic
最高のメンバーの時代
I wish I could thumbs up this twice
Face to Face !!!😻😻😻😻
The Take Away is a great song
This is fucking great song, i love f2f
I M P E C A B L E
UPN? U-P-N UPN !

I graduated 95, left for Marine Corp training shortly after also, I knew of them, no one else did though like you said
They are still playing to catch them now
Thank you for serving our country
This performance is fucking incredible

Rules!!!!!!!!
Damn Jon used to bring some prime jams to TV
Mtv snowboarding!!
I dont know how dude can play those riffs with his fingers lol
I’d ask the same with Jim cherry of strung out
LES PAUL PICK SLIDE!
I can’t believe that the bass player has a Nine inch Nails sticker on his guitar. Not what you’d expect, but maybe that’s a good thing.
The crowd looks like it showed up to the wrong show.
One of the best bands around and they never got the credit they deserved. Wow this is back from when Jon Stewart was worth a 5hit.
jon stewart is great lol youre probably one of those anti-sjw fucktards
classical👏🏾
The drummer looks like Smelly from NOFX in his heroin years
😅😅😅😅😅😅
czcams.com/video/YQSV2iCHLj4/video.html
Trever has lost some weight lol
we all do. Hahaha
John Stewart
IS THAT FUCKIN YOUNG JON STEWART LMAOOO
Jason Sudeikis under cover time traveler?
Fuck yessssss!!!!
Almost forgot matt riddle was in ftf back then
Is that Smelly on the drums??? 😮
Terrafirma
Ish punkk
Why never mainstream?
They were mainstream, they actually got relatively big they were sort of apart of that big name bands group that popularized punk
How much drugs did you take ? Yes
Dr Dre. Weight 😯
Is that guy really Dr Dre?
Ssx soundtrack....
Meth is meth.
Are they on drugs?
I doubt it. That wasn't their thing man.
No but they’re trying to look like they are
This was such a well written song, too bad the rest of the album was fucking atrocious!
Matthew Coolness don’t turn away was a great album. If your referring to big choice, it was on that album too.
thats crazy their first 3 albums were almost 100% great songs
Love the band but looks like they're totally lip syncing.
+ironbreaker82
Are you joking? This is obviously not lip synched as the vocals are not perfect.
No, it even sounds exactly like the cd version.
ironbreaker82
No comment.
It sounds exactly like the cd version ?! Are you stupid or deaf ?
Fucking idiot.
