- The Offspring performing Self Esteem at Glastonbury '95. Their third studio album blew up along the time of the Californian punk boom in the mid 90s and they became a worldwide success. A stereo transfer VHS grab.

The greatest era of humanity. The perfect balance between technology and organic. God save the 90's.

Very gae comment
So true man!...Tech coming too much over, that's so frustrating!
I feel sorry for kids today not being able to experience the 90s. It was amazing
I just saw the offspring, weezer, and Green Day at a show a few weeks ago. The party never stopped.

Was dope af. I'm a black guy and had my whit3 crew. Maaann! Nirvana, offspring + house parties + 40s + blunts!
90s here ✌️😆. Kids now are in to kpop😂
It might happen again. Hopefully minus the drug use though. But unfortunately like Bill Hicks said most of the best music was written on drugs.
That girl wobbling her head 👌👌👌
Crazy to think she's like 40-50 now
Imagine if she ends up here with us

I really miss this pre-smartphone concerts.

Yes, you miss it.. ;-)
It's not just smartphones, it's the Internet and availability of free music in general, back then you needed to be quite dedicated to be a fan of bands like offspring and green day from here in the uk, now every shithead with an Internet connection and CZcams can 'get into' any band when they have no more than a 5 or 10 minute experience of their music. It's the throwaway generation in general that is the problem not phones.
DaveAnderson327 hey bro there are some guys like who borned in the 20s and haven experience that typevof lives so shh because we want to listen from the interne because we never have the chance to listen to them live
i like recording concerts because it is a good way to feel the same way you were feeling that day, which for me is pretty useful since not all bands come to my country and it takes long periods of time to see the, again
This song always fascinated me in the way that it sits somewhere between punk and grunge.
Sounds like bubble gum to me
the whole Smash album if you ask me
@@Crx018 100% agree. Great album.

It's Pop. I've been listening to it since the early 60s. Just the 90s version.
I thought it was doo wop!?
I was 17 years old when I jumped the fence at Glastonbury in 95. Most of the weekend was a blur but i do remember seeing this song. What a time to be alive.
THIS IS SO 90's and I love every bit of it. The 90's changed the world with their music and I'm proud to be a 90's kid. In my mind, I'm still there and I ain't ever leaving

Fun story: I did their merch at the taco festival in Sacramento two or three years ago. They treated us staff like kings, and paid us better then some full weekend shows I worked and we only did about 8 hours. These guys are so nice it’s unreal.
I'm from Sac.
Really cool to know theyre such nice guys xD
Well they come from a punk rock background so that type of demeanour is not uncommon amongst punk bands. Its some of the rock arena bands that have holier than thou attitudes...
@@quintonmason1513 yep, I’d say Taylor Swift is the worst I’ve worked for. A total diva. Her dad legit walked around the venue talking to us all like dog shit and telling us how we needed to steer clear of his kid. Like dude, I’m at work and I don’t like your kids music at all nor do any of us want to meet her lol. Father john misti was a diva as well. Ariana grande was super cool to us all let us each take hella shirts and her team was super down to earth.
I worked security for a show called sabrosa fest in tucson,it had lots of taco stands and a wrestling ring, the wrestlers were mexican nacho libre shit, they even had midget wrestlers, got to see them for free, pennywise played as well and a few others
Imagine a boy seeing his mother singing in the crowd those days. Beautiful.

Wow. Grow up.
Better than seeing your mom on tiktok acting like she belongs to the streets
@@tamib.5394 hahahahaha
A lot of teens have parents who themselves were teens at this concert. So it would be strange seeing your parents when they were your age at a rock concert.
No phones, no tablets, only guys jumping and singing.
On the stage, unfashioned guys who can rock the whole thing. 90s, I miss you.

This this the best Offspring video I have watched. Was 25 at the time! I so miss the 90's!!
One of best punk rock voices of all time. It really stands out!!!!!!!!! Been hooked since I saw them in 92 at Club Detroit in St.Pete Fl. My first real punk show at the ripe age of 14. Many more followed but none really lived up to that first show. Penny wise was also playing that night.
Ive watched this vid about 5 times a day since I found it... It's... everything the 90s was for me wrapped into one.
I'm almost 40 and still love Offspring.
I'm 68 and still listening to them!!!
Same here!
I've been listening to The Offspring since I was 16 years old. Now I'm 36 and I feel like I can't stop.
Wish I could go back. 52 yrs and listening to this Easter 2022; omg, still love 💕
@@Vandymas Same here. I'm 53 and try as I might, I can't replace the 80's & 90's and some of the early 00's for music.
Even the best of today are those songs that are relying on the 80's music young artists grew up on when they were toddlers.
Look at Dua Lipa. She's the equivalent of today's Disco queen and I'm not talking about that garbage Disco that became overpopularized and went pop, but old school Disco.
I'm still stuck on alternative rock though. My biggest playlists is my alternative (that and my Salsa list of course).
An audience actually enjoying the performance. Amazing
One of the great all time punk rock voice.. Dexter is fucking legendary
This is magical. I'm 45 and grew up in the 80's. Then the 90's hit, and I was like rock and roll! I have been in my share of mosh pits' but nothing like this. Thanks Offspring
Best era! No cellphones, only music

Driving car. I was blown away...What a yr. 1994....incredible albums that yr by so many great bands.
The larger part of my heart was left in the 90's. Watching this, for me, is like coming home (with no fucking smartphone).
I'm picturing myself in 1994, on my family computer in the basement (a Packard Bell), playing Rise of the Triad shareware and listening to this album on cassette, and all my adult problems seem to melt away.

A concert without fucking mobile phones. It's beautiful to watch the people enjoy the music and going crazy,.

Amen.
i like the comment, but its a bit redundant considering its 1995
HUBEMX AB I mean yeah, It's nice to see. But don't blame people for wanting to capture memories to keep. People who text during concerts and are the real assholes lol
So capturing the whole concert to keep in your memories is good|?
Not a cell phone in sight, just everyone living in the moment. RIP 90s
One of my TOP 4 favorite bands/singers!
❤❤❤
Great band/singer/era!
What are the other three?
Love watching the crowds at these old shows. Just people enjoying themselves and getting lost in the moment. Not a bunch of idiots standing there with their phones in the air trying to record everything to upload to their facebook. I miss the 90s an awful lot more than I thought I would at the time
I will literally record like a 30 second snapchat of my favorite song, just to show my friends that i'm having a GREAT time. Then it's back to dancing. I hate it when people stand there recording the whole thing, being so short it's hard to see past their stupid dumb smart phones.
I would much rather have modern technology. The phones at concerts has never once stopped me from having a great fucking time. If you are in the mosh pit, wtf you need to see the stage for anyway? Idk about you but I see live bands to mosh out and be social with like minded people, not watch people I will never meet or get to know play instruments I can see any other time on youtube anyway.

It’s amazing how just in the 10 year’s between 85’-95’ the fashion trends and music styles were so brazenly different.
Not really.
@@MrParkerman6 yeah really
It’s amazing how fashion trends have barely changed since the late 90s.
Totally, there are certain decades where trends change DRAMATICALLY. I would add 75’-85’, and 1915-1925...Perhaps when we look back 2005-2015 could be up there too.
I prefer the 80's. Much better.the 90's pretty much sucked with some exceptions.
The 90's in OC were unbeatable. I was so fortunate, skate punk, SKA
and hardcore
His voice is so universally recognised
I wish my life would had concerts like this.
They should consider banning smartphones from concerts and the crowds will go insane again. Just do a professional pro shot and you won’t need your shakey little videos of shitty quality.

Been to Pink Pop three times. You have no idea...
concerts in general are much more dead than 10 years ago when i first started going to them. I've only been to a handful lately where the crowd is just so fun to be in and actually moves. Usually it feels like it's only me jumping around like an idiot LMAO

Ridiculous how many great albums came out in '94!
Raimundos, Dookie/Green Day, MTV unplugged/Nirvana, Smash, Soundgarden, Oasis/Definitely Maybe...😍😍😍
Just put this on and my dad was amazed at the crowd. Glastonbury is a special festival.
Always loved this band. They also sounded better than any other band live. His vocals on point with his powerful voice and incredible vocal range. Guitars always tuned perfectly so them power chords ripped thru like a razor blade
His vocals are perfect 👌 in this one.

It's amazing how mainstream these guys were in the uk in 95, literally now people only ever mention that "britpop" was big in this era but these guys and green day etc were clearly huge
Well. The post-Nirvana era was just so good. Now you rarely even hear a guitar in mainstream music.
They were huge in italy as well
Brit pop stopped at Britain. It never really caught on as much elsewhere.
Hell yeah!! Back to the 90's
Thank you for uploading this

I remember hearing this on cassette in late 1994. At the time, it seemed heavy to me as a kid. It wasn't until 1998 that I rediscovered them in high school. The reason I started my first band.
Best era of music ever. Period. 30 yrs later and i still listen to all the music from this decade.
