Wow !! S06xE11 was so shocking and emotional towards the end. It was surprising to me to see that they killed the character off in the first episode of S06B itself. It's definitely the end of the golden age of Vikings. Bjorn was not in my top 3 favorites but that episode really did it.
Through this video, I tried to show some of Bjorn's losses (His father Ragnar Lothbrok, his mother Lagertha, his son), defeated by King Harald finehair as the king of all Norway, his ambitions & destiny, his rivalry with Ivar as he wanted to preserve his father's legacy in a different way, failure as king of kattegat, his mistakes as a leader that cost everything he loved & wanted, and finally his fate.

@@MomoTabour yeah they had Ragnar do some things in the show that Bjorn actually did in real life. Like faking his death to be carried into Paris to bust out and kill the bishop and corner the king. Bjorn actually did that.

@@Unknownism3 yeah they kinda did what they wanted with the characters for the show. Which was insanely loosely based on the sagas that have questionable accuracy as well. His grave is actually in Sweden I believe too. These guys had to be true badasses in real life to have such tales told of their lives and accomplishments.
After Ragnar’s death, Bjorn was the only one of his sons to truly live up to and surpass his father’s legacy. They truly did him justice and gave him the best death possible in my opinion. This was a badass video.

@@CzechLuke92 I know he was. I wasn’t saying none of them were his sons. Just that Bjorn did the best at carrying his father’s legacy and surpassing it. Ivar made his own legacy but it wasn’t quite like his father’s. Still a badass Viking for sure.

How is this even a debate. Ragnar's favourite son was Björn. He's been there since day one. All throughout Ragnar's journies Björn was there and stood by him. He didn't know his other sons. He just manipulated Ivar so he could gain what he wanted. The end of the Anglo-Saxon rule. I dislike how they wrote Ivar into some all-knowing being. He says in the end of the show that nobody talks about Ragnar anymore. Yet the first thing he was refrenced as was a son of Ragnar. And it is only because he is a son of Ragnar that he is alive.

I didnt get when Ragnar told Ivar that it was him who he wanted to bring to England, and it was him who was going to be the future of their people. I mean, Ragnar literally begged every single person who was there on Kattegat, but was refused. A few handful joined him along with Ivar, and as soon as Ragnar devised a plan he had Ivar kill the others. The writers fucked up that time. They wanted Ivar to be the next big thing, so they just randomnly made it out that Ragnar chose Ivar. It is absurd.
@@salimbhai1319 It's not like that. Do not forget that Ivar was the only son who agreed to accompany Ragnar. All of the other sons refused Ragnar's request. Because of this, Ragnar had paid more attention to Ivar, even though he wanted to kill him after he was born. To the other sons. Bjorn refused because he was responsible for his people, as Ragnar told him. Ubbe, Hvitserk and Sigurd stood behind Bjorn without having been through much. They weren't really men at the time. Ivar, on the other hand, was traveling with Ragnar and experienced something with him. The other sons can't say that about themselves (except for Bjorn). Ultimately, it is also true that Ragnar saw something in Ivar and we all saw it in his eyes too. His anger was one of the most dangerous in the whole series (I have to say that as a big Bjorn fan). And he was very intelligent, just like Ragnar. Maybe he wasn't physically strong, but that made him a lot more dangerous in another way. He was definitely a good written character (Ivar is also a great inspiration for people to pursue their dreams, even if you are disadvantaged or not really talented). Ragnar chose Ivar too, but not in the sense that he chose Bjorn. He meant everything he said to Ivar. But if you take into account the facts of the storyline, you can see who was really responsible for his people. That’s Bjorn without a doubt. Ragnar motivated his crippled son because he thought the wrong way about him (imagine you were crippled and your father wants you dead). That's why Ivar wept before he died. Because he was afraid that after all his actions he didn't deserve to reach Valhalla. But in my opinion he deserves it, definitely.

And that's why he told ivar these to develope his character, his anger to more because watching his father death could have been effective to him as a son but ragnar didn’t wanted this to happen

He made many mistakes. He often chose the wrong option. He was not the smartest leader. But without this man, i think i would never have continued to watch this show. He was a true Viking, a great warrior and a true son of Ragnar because in the end all he ever wanted was, making his father and his people proud. He looked after his family and he fought for his family and saying that i mean all of norway. Hail king Björn! Enjoy your feast in the great hall...

That noname soldier is potrayed here as a cripple,and Iver allowed that man to kill him cause a god should be killed by a god thats what he think. From Iver's viewpoint crippleness is not a curse but it's the special favour of God which make them nearer to god.
Funny thing is.. the known viking to be baptized and his name changed to aethelstan was Guthrum son of Jarl Borg. Yet in the show they killed guthrum in scandinavia when he was still young and gave the supposed ending to hvitserk
