G1000 Holding Patterns

  • In this video, I talk about a few different ways of doing an IFR Hold on aircraft equipped with the Garmin G1000. Examples are shown for the three different types of holding pattern entries (Direct entry, Offset / Teardrop Entry and Parallel Entry).
    It's a pretty rudimentary video with me sitting infront of my iPad which has the Simionic G1000 Simulator loaded on it.

      Yep. Simionic G1000 PFD is the name of the iPad app. If you have 2 iPads, you can actually set one of them to be a MFD as well. It is by far on of the most useful tools for instrument practice I have come across.

      and it costs like $9.99 on the app store if I am not wrong. It was a while ago so I don't remember the exact number.
