Iâve been using a zenbivy sleep system for the last 3 years. Got it primarily for our Philmont trek 2 years ago. Been using it for every one of our monthly Troop campouts. I love it. Iâm a side sleeper. The versatility of the quilt is great. The hooded sheet is awesome. Simple setup.

I just came back from a 5 day blackbear hunt and had borrowed a friend's sleep system that was not very comfortable for me. When I returned from my hunt, I decided to do some research on sleeping systems and found your video and think this system would meet my needs.
Whether I win this Zenbivy sleep system or not, I believe I will be purchasing it. I am not a backpack hiker, but I have been watching your videos now for about 3 months and learning alot that will help me in my backcountry hunting.

Mike follows my channel, and I have been talking with him regarding dry bags - I am a sea kayaker - and he is SO knowledgable. I have been an outdoor guide/instructor for 20 plus years and he has absolutely schooled me in things I thought I knew a lot about. Really enjoyed this video.
Good to see a pro guide being humbled by an actual engineer who also camps/hikes. Rethinking what we have already doesn't hurt, it only has the potential to improve the experience around the activities we enjoy.
I went on my first backpacking trip last weekend (and first time camping in 20 years) and used the Zenbivy! After a lot of research, I determined this was the right set up for me and it did not disappoint! I hate feeling constructed in a mummy bag, which is what I remember from previously camping, and this was the perfect set up for side sleepers. My husband and I both have the Zenbivy Bed 25 and have been extremely happy with this sleep system.
Thatâs awesome! As someone who not only tent backpacks but also hammocks and is a tummy-sleeper do you think the Zenbivy would work well for those use-cases?
I think a huge benefit of the Zenbivy system is that it adapts to all sleeping positions! I can't speak to the hammock aspect though - hopefully someone else can chime in there with insight.
I love ZenBivy! A friend recommended it a couple of years ago and I decided to buy it. Itâs SO much more comfortable than other options and is really competitive in terms of weight.
My daughter who backpacks with me now has her own ZenBivy system.
Their ZenBivy Light Mattress is very comfortable, doesnât crinkle as much as other mattresses, and the inflation sack actually works.
Iâm enjoying hearing about the design directly from the company.
I want that Zenbivy! Such a cool system. Iâve been noticing recently how different my sleeping bag feels from my sheets at home, so I love how Mike was emphasizing the similarities between the Zenbivy fabric/shape and your sheets at home.
It's pretty much what I use. I have a 25' wide Klymit pad with fitted sheet and a Therm-a-rest comforter. Works aweseome.

The Sierra Designs Backcountry Bed is another design by Mike. Another very underrated sleep system. You can see the similarities between these two sleep systems.
I have been using the BCB for two years. Can't say enough great things about it.
This does remind me of the SD zipperless bags I have the Cloud 35 and it's been a complete game changer for me

Great video! I am trying to help my 15 year old son get into backpacking and have done tons of research into quilts, specifically the zenbivy system and loved the insights from Mike. My aunt and uncle hike Yellowstone every summer (500 miles on average each summer) and have invited my son and I to tag along on a 10 day trip to the Yellowstone River headwaters! We are pumped, and I am looking for lightweight systems for us to bring that will also keep us warm enough:) Weâve done shorter hikes with our churchâs youth program,but nothing that long. Iâve backed two of their Kickstarters and love both! The larger car kit one I mostly use when my nephew sleeps over.
I love my new Zenbivy Bed. I'm a bigger guy and a side sleeper. I bought the XL and I use it with an Exped Dura 5R 25x78 pad. XL worked great with smaller pad but 30x80 would be awesome too.
