When he is in Ireland he sings way more Irish! And I love it!
poor man has to sing take me to church till his death
Martyna I was just thinking that. Poor guy looks miserable when he sings it haha
i know. i love take me to church but he has so many other great and meaningful songs.
Why is that a bad thing ?
M D because it gets boring for him. I bet he sung it at least 300 times already and people don’t really want to hear his other great songs.
he really doesnt look like hes enjoying it at all
something about his voice just strikes me deeply. straight into the heart. I started crying as soon as he began ‘Parting Glass.’ His talent is stunning and I don’t believe we’ll have another artist like him for quite awhile. you are truly one of a kind Hozier!
Same here, cried literally three words into "Parting Glass". I've always been a huge fan, but that was something else.
So these two came straight from the live stream not even changing the clothes
commited and unpretenous
he hit that run (!) at 15:22 and looked SO PLEASED with himself, lovely bogman
You're so right hahah. Great catch. I was impressed by the run on first listen but missed the reaction.
this comment brings such warmth
I've been a fan of Hozier for some time now, but I'm still in awe of how talented the whole band is. The voice this man has? DIVINE.
When he embraces his true accent 🥰
its so hot thooo
A guy I've known for most of my childhood died due to COVID- 19 and on the day he passed I heard his version of the Parting Glass and I'm not going to lie I broke down hard it took me awhile to get myself together. after I heard his version. Also I'm also kicking myself for not being able to go see him in New York long before the virus hit.
Love 'The Parting Glass'. Beautiful old Irish traditional song.
A wink at 11:00 and a run at 15:22. You're welcome :)
Precious man, bless him. By far best version of the Parting Glass(17:00) ever.
I learned about Hozier through my daughter several years ago. He is one of the purest adult souls that I have ever come across in my personal life or through video. He has a very rare gift of voice, song writing, and in his everyday living. Thank you for posting this and sharing some of the best life has to offer! btw, this was given to me in a message from my daughter!! I am 58 and have a Hozier Pandora station that I made on SXM!!
You're more than welcome! I can definitely attest to his character - I've met him a few times after shows and he really is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. He stayed out and spoke to everyone, giving as much of his time as he could after performing all night! He really cares about all his fans and I can't help but feel that that kindness doesn't end there - it's such a pleasure to have spent time with him and to enjoy his incredible talent. You and your daughter have excellent taste! 💖
Check out the live session he did in the NY subway him and his back up singers nailed it
somehow I completely missed this when it was aired but I'm so glad I found it. hozier is one of my favourite musical souls on this planet and shrike my favourite song of his at the moment 🥺
My whole life all of my musical heroes have been older than me (most of them no longer with us). And all the voices that could really move me have been female. Hozier is the exception that I never expected. His songwriting, his delicate guitar playing and every perfect note that he sings. Also, I don't know him personally, but the Hozier that I see in interviews is very consistently humble, kind and insightful. I love this human. He is the best of us.
Hozier is a God
Hozier never gets old! I will never tire of his talent!
Saw him in Chicago- he’s just fantastic live or in recordings.
100% agree!! I've seen him 3 times now and each night was an amazing experience 😭💕 That voice is astonishing!!
Great job uploading this, I paused the TV last night so I could listen to "Shrike" again this morning. First time I heard that song, jesus it was an outstanding performance. Stopped the child this morning completely this morning in her jumparoo. I don't think I was the only took by that performance in our household! 🤣
11:00 That look could make me switch team.
Besides that "The Parting Glass" made me shed a tear.
This version of Shrike always hits me very hard
Ronan's frame casually in the bg
All this man needs is his voice and an instrument and for his talent to shine through, he is incredible ❤️
Hands down one of the best performer live and studio ever. Such an amazing voice
Amazing! What a beautiful soul it shines through every note
I'm speechless ☘️💚🇮🇪😍
The best ever
Thank you for uploading this.
. What an amazing performance from Andrew - he puts his heart and soul into everything he sings
Astonishing voice, lyrics and music.
Thank you so very much for the upload. I love the laid back versions of these songs. You can tell how contemplative he is.
Thank you so much for uploading this! 💚💚
Thank you so much for uploading this. I'm in worldly heaven rn. Good Lord, this is just beautiful.

Love him forever.

If someone wants the lyrics, here they are and sing with me:
My lover's got humour
She's the giggle at a funeral
Knows everybody's disapproval
I should've worshipped her sooner
If the heavens ever did speak
She's the last true mouthpiece
Every Sunday's getting more bleak
A fresh poison each week
"We were born sick" you heard them say it
My church offers no absolution
She tells me "worship in the bedroom"
The only heaven I'll be sent to
Is when I'm alone with you
I was born sick, but I love it
Command me to be well
Amen, amen, amen
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Oh good God, let me give you my life
(bis)
If I'm a pagan of the good times
My lover is the sunlight
Keep the goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice
Drain the whole sea
Get some shiny
Something meaty for the main course
That's a fine looking high horse
What you got in the stable?
We've a lot of starving faithful
That looks tasty
That looks plenty
This is hungry work
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Oh good God, let me give you my life
(bis)
No masters or kings when the ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean
Amen, amen, amen
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Oh good God, let me give you my life
(bis)
Love it
the most beautiful man ever 💗
I so miss living in Ireland
Ah Hozier, que coisa linda
não é um homem, é um monumento
11:36 the sound guy didn't even turn off their mics?? 💀
Wonderful to give to the children! 2 thumbs down - what???
5:35 miss Saoirse cameo in the background😬
My favorite personal Jesus
No, not The Parting Glass😨🤧🥺😢😭😭😭😭
Official Ireland entertainment
If I can be half as smart as he is then I will consider that to be a great achievement
🇮🇪❤️
is he off at the first chorus?
Good cause but im afraid he is painful to listen to.
Can you do better? Put yourself out there.
@@jamescostello7612 redtiger is right, awful stuff
Brian Boru on a technical level he’s ridiculously good. If you don’t like his vocal tone that’s fair enough, it’s all personal preference, but he is incredibly skilled and not in any way painful to listen to.
Singing thru' his 'dnose'!
Troll!
