I am 70 and I have always believed that Sue Randall as Miss Landers had it all .She had a beautiful, caring, nature in Leave to Beaver. She was also very pretty.R.I.P.
@@Omar_ZazzleAnd you did?
😀👍
The episode Teacher comes to Dinner was a great one where Miss Lander's had dined with the Cleavers with Beaver in his sunday best suit. Larry, Whitey and Gilbert were spying on the Cleaver house. Great episode.
Ohhh yesss! One of my favorites!
You boys get out of that tree@@kaybroughton9004
Miss Landers was at her best after she assigned each student to do art on an American Revolution theme. When Beaver painted his own Paul Revere riding, it looked pretty crude compared to everyone else's great looking projects. "It looks like some guy trying wrestle a pig," one student bellowed out. But Miss L probed and found that on all the others, the parents did most of the work, whereas Ward and June let Beaver succeed or fail on his own. She chose Beaver's as the best, and explained to the class that the most important thing is to do one's own work despite meddlesome parents. It was a message for all time!
Thank you for remembering 'Miss Landers and bringing her off the screen self to the forefront. Sue was wonderful!
She was wonderful in that role! Thank you so much for watching : )
She was absolutely beautiful!!!❤
My fave episode with Sue was when Beaver and Larry skipped school and ended up on TV She told him he wasted a day of his life and everyday is so precious She was so right God bless Crying shame she passed away so young
I had several teachers like Miss Landers. Maybe that's why I became a teacher.
Amazing how some actors who were chosen to fill a part just really made impact in those parts which remains for years a long lasting memory for their audience….
This is how a tribute should be made. Articulate, organized, and good content. Thank you for not using AI narration. Mrs. Randall was an amazing part of my memories.
Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate them! And thank you so much for watching : )
I had a fourth grade teacher very similar in attitude and comportment to the mythical Miss Landers. Nurturing and caring. Just what a kid needs !
I always wish she was my teacher. It is too bad she die so young. She was a big part of the show.
Soft spot in my heart for Sue.
We loved watching Leave it to Beaver all the cast were amazing actors Sue. Randall.was very Beautiful RIP Sue🎞❤📺
So nice to hear a real human voice!
Thank you so much for watching : )
I had a 2nd grade teacher (1956) who looked a lot like Sue Randall. My favorite of all my teachers.
Me too! I had a teacher just like her in the 2nd grade. She invited my family and I to her wedding that same year. Both of our last names changed, as I was adopted by a new Daddy!
So did I. Her name was Miss Gleich. The year was 1953
I had a teacher in the early seventies named Mrs Stanford, she taught me so much in mathematics, you take your teacher for granted but 50 years later when you have to add something in your head you think back how wonderful she was to be able to teach you things that you would use later in life, at the time you gave very little thought to it, the Mrs Stanford is long dead you always remember what she taught you, and that's the gift all teachers give no matter what subject!
Hard to believe that Sue Randall was only 23 years old when she debuted on Leave it to Beaver in 1958. She looked so mature. Today, most 23 year olds still resemble and act like high school kids.
Miss Landers was one of my favorite Beaver characters. I liked how she could see through, and control know it all Judy who always liked to get Beaver into trouble.
Judy was such a character. We all had a Judy in our life.
I was named after her. Sue Randall. That is my real name
What a beautiful name and what a beautiful actress to be named after!
Love Sue Randall. She did quite a bit back then not just Bever. Left us way too young. So 1950's. Wonderful time.
Had to Click on this Video! RIP Sue Randell. Ms Landers had it all for a TV character! Leave it to Beaver Great Show!
I love “Desk Set”. I watch it every year during the holidays.
I also loved the episode, "Miss Landers' Fiance", where Beaver, who has a crush on Miss Landers, learns that she is engaged. She comes to visit Beaver at home and the conversation between them is heartwarming.
Yes! That's a great episode too : )
This was also one of my favorites. I remember Beaver's dislike of Miss Landers' boyfriend from the start when he called him "Teddy." Also, how Beaver used a fake spelling test to find out from Ward what "fiancee" meant. The dinner episode was great too, like when Miss Landers confides with Beaver about what to do about those boys in the tree.
@@robertlafferty3532 I forgot about him calling Beaver "Teddy". That was funny!
Teacher Comes To Dinner What A Great Episode One Of My Favorite Episodes. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Loved Miss Landers,Miss Canfield...sad to say those LADIES from yesteryear are Long gone!!!
She was on Perry Mason too. I've read she was a chainsmoker, thus the cancer. So sad. We loved you as Beavers teacher!!
Funny, but I just watched an episode she was in four nights ago on MeTV. I've seen a lot of Perry Mason episodes and that was the first one that made me go, huh, at the end- a very surprising whodunnit reveal. She played Betty the secretary in the "Case of the Ill-Fated Faker" with William Campbell (later to become Trelane in Star Trek). Such a pretty young lady.
died so young, tragic. wish I had a teacher like her.
I had a wonderful teacher at North Shore Elementary School named Miss Blauvelt. She would gather all of us students around her piano and have us sing the songs that go with The Sound Of Music. She saved my sanity. What a wonderful human being. I dearly loved her and will always remember how kind and caring she was.
In this role she was......simply perfect.
In one scene she was asking each student to stand and say what they wanted to be when they grew up. One sloppy looking boy stood up causing all the books on his desk to fall on the floor, then he sloppily picked them up and put them on his desk, and calmy said, "I want to be a brain surgeon!" Miss Landers did one of the funniest double takes I have ever seen. After 60 years I can still see her face in my mind.
Hahaha...I don't remember that! Miss Landers always had the best facial expressions.
Always loved Miss Landers, also Doris Packer who played the principal Mrs. Rayburn. One of my favorite episodes was the one where Beaver made a face when they took the class picture. I can still hear Mrs. Rayburn saying, "This is just disgraceful, Miss Landers, just disgraceful."
Leave it to Beave still runs in my city, Baltimore and I love me some Miss Landers. What a beauty.
I loved her voice ...
i always wondered what happened to miss landers. i also liked the beaver episode where she came to dinner.
My favorite too
Sue Randall was on 2 episodes of Bonanza playing 2 different characters. She did a marvelous job
Saw those.
**Sue Randall** As **Ms. Landers** On “Leave It To Beaver” Was Such A Beautiful And Good-Natured School Teacher That Everyone Adored And Admired!!!!!
**Sue Randall** Was **Special** **Peace**
Both Teachers were very good looking...
I had a Miss Landers. Her name was Miss Lasserson at Glenbrook Elementary school in Euclid, Ohio in 1956. She was wonderful.
So sorry that her life was cut short. She was special in the roles she played.
Thank you for making this video, I never knew anything other than Sue Randall being "Beaver's teacher". Now, I know lots more about her. As a child, I wished I had her for my teacher, too. That's very sad that she died so young. Life is a very precious gift, every heartbeat is, too. "Maine" says "hello"🙂
Philadelphia schools, miss beck, late 60's early 70's. All us boys were in love.
Those were the days. Look how attentive and well behaved students were in those days.
I had a 3rd grade teacher who not only looked a lot like Miss Landers, but was also my favorite teach all through my school years. She only taught 2 years and went on to become a Nun. Very pretty, and very understanding. I never missed a day that year. Her name was Miss Lanshe and my school at the time was Prospect Park Elementary in Prospect Park Pa.
Sue was gorgeous. I thought she was so beautiful.
Thank you for the clip
THANK YOU FOR THIS REPORT. i STILL LAUGH AT WALLY TRYING TO MAKE CONVERSATION WITH MS. LANDERS BY ASKING IF ANDREW JOHNSON WAS THE ONLY IMPEACHED PRESIDENT - AS TOUGH ONLY A TEACHER WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THAT FACT. VERY SORRY ABOUT HER LOSING HER HUSBAND AND HER EARLY DEATH. SHE WAS A REAL SWEETHEART.
..Today in 2024 teachers pretty much wear whatever they want w/individuals and administrations having no formal attire restrictions/requirements, therefore observations made today of today's professional attire and home attire, would be the same. My grandma wore rhinestone earrings while grocery shopping to look her best. That visual allure and personal desire to look ones best (even if it was simply combing one's hair) is what made "Miss Landers", leaving us today in 2024 with.....
"Yes Miss Landers" and bad ass girlfriend of Michael Landon on RIFLEMAN episode
I enjoyed your presentation about Miss Landers, having grown up watching more then once, each episode. So well presented I have just subscribed. Thank you. What a pleasant surprise having just discovered your Chanel. Looking forward to your Chanel growing and enjoying more content.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I appreciate them so much!
And thank you for subscribing and watching my videos : )
Really nice overview of Sue Randall’s career. The CZcams algorithm brought me here after I saw her in a Perry Mason episode from season 7, and looked her up.
Thank you for your kind words! And thank you so much for watching : )
Miss canfield was really beautiful too.her real name was Diane Brewster she was also on the rifleman
I did a video on Diane Brewster and I was really surprised to learn all of the shows she had appeared on. I just remembered her as the lovely Miss Canfield.
I think the reason Miss Canfield left was because after they cancelled the show Diane Brewster took other work. I liked Diane much better because she was a better actress. Sue Randall always came off as fake to me. That and she looked like a cheerful chipmunk.
Maverick, too. And in the pilot episode of The Fugitive, she was Mrs Richard Kimball.
@@spaceagerabbityes she also appears on the western maverick miss Canfield was gorgeous and miss Landers played on the Rifleman with Michael Landon
@@skivvywaverDiane Brewster was Gorgeous she Left to do other projects she appeared on the Maverick the Rifleman
I found it kind of amusing on how Beaver was able to have the same teacher every year except 2nd grade and junior high.😉😊
Anyone remember how weird it was to run into your teacher in public?
Thanks for the video, in reading the comments here it’s reassuring how many people still enjoy watching the show!
Thank you for watching : ) It's a great show!
Sue Randall , a beautiful Connie Francis lookalike , especially at 5 : 44 .
I liked her as a guest star on Gunsmoke. Really fine actress. RIP
She was pretty None of my teachers looked like her
I heard Nancy Regan wanted this gig. Ken Osborne's brother, Dayton (Eddie Haskell) was my landlord and friend.
I was instantly in ❤ with Miss Landers the moment I laid eyes on her, funny thing is, I was just seven years old 😮
Thank you, this was delightful. My favorite episode with Sue Randall on Leave it to Beaver was the one where Beaver's present for her got mixed up & she was presented with a slip (undergarment) in front of the whole class! :)
Nope, the class never saw the slip. Beaver and Wally opened it that morning before school. He never gave it to her in class but showed it to her afterwards alone.
@@littleogeechee223 Awesome catch on your part! Thank you. Memory is fogging up lately, & think I'm one step closer to Alzheimer's here - or maybe it's just "Oldtimer's Disease." (age 70)
This is a great mini doc. Thanks
Thank you! And thank you so much for watching 🙂
Miss Landers and miss Canfield was stunning Beautiful ❤also Mary Ellen Rodgers
uh, I wished I'd had a girl pal like Miss Landers. wowzer! Really wide set eyes..... i LOVE that.
Miss. Landers was like my kindergarten teacher Mrs. Baker. She was introduced me to do much. The piano, music, singing, she even asked to take me to Sunday school and church. Her husband was a youth pastor and her daughter was around my age. Her husband got his own church to pastor in Kentucky or Tennessee? I was so sad when she moved away. She taught more than just school. She taught me life long lessons. I still am active in church thanks to her 😊 thank you Mrs Baker
R.I.P. Sue Randall 😢
I am 62 and I had a teacher that was just as important to me as sue my teacher was actually a real Sue she was so caring i just rebelled when my Mother didn't allow me to live with her and he family
She would always take me on Vacation with them to the Snow picnic's I loved Mrs H
She sounds like a wonderful lady
62 years old and born in 1962
Left us way too soon! I mean, come on so young! RIP!
😀
Thank you.
SUE RANDALL ALSO GUEST STARRED ON THE TV SERIES SEA HUNT.
Ms. Gosnell, Dewey Elementary in San Diego in the 60’s. She broke all our hearts when she told us she was getting married. Her dad was Jeff Chandler. Thanks for sharing
Being born in July of 1996, I am not aware! Don't take it for granted, that only 70 years old, r the only ones watching!
Leave it to beaver 😊 was a great TV 📺 show 👏 👍
What A Beautiful Lady Wish She Was My Teacher ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sue Randall was lovely, but so was Diane Brewster who played Miss Canfield. She had a real sort of Grace Kelly vibe about her.
My neighbor was born the same year she was, strange to think she could still be alive too.
There was a good episode in Season 5 when Beaver was feeling overwhelmed by his approaching adolescence and set out to revisit his childhood. He dropped in on his old pal Gus the Fireman and on Miss Landers. He and Miss L had a nice conversation about growing up.
Miss Landers reminds me of my 4th Grade teacher Miss Slater at Washington Grade School in Aberdeen, WA in the early 60's.
She was also a defendant on Perry Mason. If I remember correctly it was the Case of the Artful Dodger starring William Campbell. She was great talking about how Campbell's character was always hitting on the girls in the secretarial pool.
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks!
There has never been TV kids as realistic as on LitB.
My years in elementary school had nothing but battle axes for staff, from the lunch room through the teachers and admin staff if you won an ugly contest you had a good chance at being hired.
You mentioned one of my top favorite moments about the BBQ! Especially when Larry goes on to the other guys about ".. maybe we'll even see her smoking..!" Funny how she notices them and with Beaver she goes over and busts all three boys and gives them a good scolding! Another one was when Beaver gets elected as fire monitor for class, Richard makes a loud siren noise and Miss Landers, in a mildly annoying voice remarks "... I don't think we need to be QUITE so enthusiastic, Richard..!" Haha!
It's a great episode! And I remember the fire monitor episode, but I forgot about Richard making the siren noise. Miss Landers always gave the best scoldings.
She was especially great at that pained response whenever Judy Hensler took it upon herself to report what other classmates had been up to! Haha!
I liked the one about the poster contest where Beaver's completely handmade entry was chosen over the better-looking ones that other students' parents had helped them with.
I know I've seen every episode of the show many times, but I can't remember in which episode we learn Miss Landers' first name is Alice. Was it when she got engaged?
I remember hearing Miss Lander's name was Alice in the engagement episode. When her engagement announcement shows up in the local paper and breaks his heart.
Oh wow, my deepest condolences, Sue was my mother's age and still living, my mother is now 89.
I always had a crush on Ms. Crump from, "The Andy Griffith Show."
In 5th grade 1966 i had Miss Vison a perfect match of Miss Landers.
I had a pretty dark haired teacher in the second grade in the early 60s, Miss Ficken. Bouffant hairstyle, and cat's eye glasses. She got married halfway through the school year. She came back and I can't remember what her new name was. She was my favorite teacher. So sad that Sue Randall died so soon.
I love LITB. Have all 6 seasons on dvd. Love it when Ward got worked up.
Sue/Ms Landers was a good girl! So sorry she left so early.
gerry wilson always liked this show and sue randall was great in it she also did a turn on bonana
Yes, Miss Landers.
I drank alcohol and smoked weed with several of my teachers outside of school back in the 70's!.good times!😊
Dang! In the 1980s I got in trouble for bringing a thermos of coffee to school 😂
Sue Randall also played Kookies girlfriend on 77 Sunset Strip. I think she was in Two Episodes. She sort of played a type of a Nerd. Even wore dark rimmed glasses. Except Kookie liked her alot. RIP Sue Randall taken away so young.
😃😃😃😃😃
I too absolutely loved her lol
❤❤❤❤❤
My first crush 😘
Appeared on "The Man and the Challenge".
