whats the dif- in this head unit and the JVC Arsenal KW-V100 they seem to me like the same thing is there a dif- im not seeing?

The two models are more similar than they are different. The KW-V100 is an "Arsenal" model so it features a 2 year warranty and comes with a wireless remote control. The KW-V10 is part of the basic line which has a 1 year warranty and the wireless remote is optional (sold separately): bit.ly/1or80Em

The JVC KW-V10 does not support AppLink with the iPhone5 or newer models. This is an older stereo (has since been discontinued) and only offered the AppLink capability with the iPhone 4 & 4s models.

ragul vasanth I'm not familiar with the product you've referenced. Going from the digital HDMI to an analog RCA connection requires breaking the copy protection feature of HDMI so, I'm not optimistic based on that issue.
For the iPhone4 & 4s, JVC requires the use of their KSU59 cable (which plugs into the 30 pin dock connector of the older phones): bit.ly/1Kie1zi so I'm not sure how you would be able to use that, a Lightning to 30-pin adapter, and a "Lightning to Digital AV" (HDMI) adapter on the same phone.

The JVC KW-V10's USB port enables playback of MP3, WMA, & WAV audio files from a portable USB device.

There is a web site to check for firmware updates and if there are any, the instructions on how to run the update is listed with the update itself. There is no update to make an Android run on this receiver to show the mapping app on it. Here's the link to check for the updates:

The Pandora app will work with an iPhone 5. The others will not. Those work with the 4 and 4S models.
