    This is why i absolutely adore my thaï and am less confident about my too much white albo, hopefully i'm getting an aurea tomorow it's less problematic 🤞🏻

      How's your final decision? Aurea tends to revert easily.

      @@andy0995i haven't heard of that, in my case the problem w the aurea is that the leaves kind of...melt? The yellow part i mean😞

    I’m sorry you had to chop yours again!
    My mother plant Albo is doing good (I think), I also have a single node I bought that just put out its second leaf (the first leaf was smaller than a fingernail lol).
    My mother plant that I bought was growing a smaller activated point at the bottom, so I chopped that off and it just put out it’s 5th leaf :) so now I guess I technically have 3 Albos, but I’m also air layering my mother plant and it’s ready but I’m scared to chop her 🤣
    You’re going to have so many more beautiful Albo babies now!

    ... I'm curious why you bother to chop the arial roots? You can definitely put those in water and they'll sprout more roots.. it really just gives your plant a headstart on restarting its root system. Why chop that off?

    • @andy0995
      @andy0995 Před 9 měsíci +11

      Based on my experiences if the aerial root is so long and it is a single leaf cutting. It'll tend to rot since the root will take so much more space than what the plant actually needed.

    How long do you let it callous after chopping the root rot? Do you add anything to your water?

    Ouch ! I wish you luck in recreating your monstera albo. They are such a beauty, but it’s tough to keep them healthy.

      Are you meaning monstera albo specifically? Are they harder to maintain than other monsteras?

    • @TramAiKhanh
      @TramAiKhanh Před měsícem

      @@tyatya938 Monstera albo is harder to take care than monstera deliciosa , because you would need good lighting (indirect bright light), to maintain its white variegation. And there are more chances that the leaves would be brown because it lacks chlorophyll for photosynthesis.
      Too much light, the white part of the leaves will be scorched. Too little light, it will loose its white variegation.

      All my monsteras were potted into sol soils and they all rotted :( It stays way too moist. It was a whole drama thing on insta when I spoke up about it. I have a monstera aurea repot I did a few months ago on here that I talked more about it :)

    Hi just wondering if people here could help me out because I have a monstera I think deliciosa (it was just labelled monstera at M&S lol) but yesterday it started to droop and it’s leave stem things are more floppy all of a sudden. One leaf bent over itself to see more sun idk but everything else is a little droopy. I only got it a week ago and although I have googled I still don’t know how to water it properly or how to tell when it needs water. It has been producing a number of tiny leaves and a big ish one. It is relatively young but has one leaf with two fenestrations, one with four/five each side and the new one has 3 inner ones too. My biology teacher said not to feed it as it is exiting growing season and to only water it when dry but idk how dry or how often as the soil although not been watered since before I got it it’s soil is still damp. I lost a nerve plant to wet rot as the soil didn’t drain well enough and I based it’s watering on the others without realising and now it’s soil is just too wet to dry out and I don’t want the same thing happening with my new monstera. Please can someone give advice on how to care for it? I did Google before and after buying and I thought I understood but I am getting very worried. I always do until I can actually hear from a few people how to look after it. Hope u guys know what I mean! Thanks :D

    I am having trouble w a monstera leaf with one tiny root that I bought this way in a big pot of soil. I put it in water when I realized it was starting to wilt after several weeks. I don’t know how to get it to grow more roots? The lady I bought it from was no help, and i won’t buy anything from her stand ever again!

    k now throw em all in hydroton (prepped correctly) and use those awesome orchid pots you have to place them into a cache pot slash resevoir . Top water and or soak the whole thing up to very top like overnite, drain it off… fill resevoir with distilled and your 3-1-2 so the level once pot is submerged sits approx 1/3rd way up the leca. Watch em thrive . Oh yeah and, change water weekly . And make sure cache pots aren’t clear … yw dear

    Send me a cutting 😍 btw i suggest that you let your baby decide if it wants to keep the air root or not, I prop my monstera deliciosas with the air roots in water and I let the plant decide if it wants to keep it, if so it will grow more roots out of it, the propagations that don’t grown roots from the air root after a few weeks then I’ll cut it off
