I was going to say it’s not the only time, because of Man Utd’s 8-2 thrashing of Arsenal in 11/12, but he’d already retired at the end of the 10/11 season, so he just missed out on the first 8-2 of his career. They obviously engineered this scoreline here so he can now say he’s been on the right end of an 8-2 score line once in his life! 😂

A big art of “the magic sponge” was how cold it would be. The term really started with rugby which is played in fall/winter. The spionage guy would come out with a cold sponge on an already cold and wet day and players would be very motivated to get up and play rather than let the sponge of death touch their skin!
Did like when Gary said something like 'you'll have to get the magic sponge in the next series', and Jason Sudekis pauses, considers correcting him that this is the end of the show, then just goes along with it, knowing Neville was just looking to wrap up.

The show was brilliant but I lost it on the third season season when they are giving a lecture on Total Football and professional footballers don't know about Johan Cruyff apart from the dutch guy ofcourse that too just after playing a friendly against Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena could'nt get over that.
