There is no one better
I was at that game where he hit that two run homer to tie the game against the Yankees and the Angels went on to win in extra innings. Still brings tears to my eyes. Makes me miss baseball so much.
I hope he spend his spare baseball life better and must do. The unicon combining talent, attitude and manners like him ever and never appears and it is hard to mimic. His life story influences whoever knows him ever. Shohei makes the history and he is 'the man'.

The thing about Ohtani is that, aside from the homers, he's got power and speed. He can do triples, he can beat an infield hit to 1st, he can steal bases. He's got great baseball IQ. Wish some of these were included in his 2023 highlights. I'm gonna miss his pitching in 2024, but I'm excited about the other things he can show us.

people are getting used to his performance in a bad sense.
BUT there is NO other two-way player born, not even one tried since his debut (it's 10 yrs!), and that shows how hard this two-way stuff is. we are gonna wait for another 100 yrs until the next two-way player shows up
The scariest thing is that he's not just a two way player, he's a dangerous power hitter with a lot of contact who is also able to pitch with a lot of prowess, blistering four seam, nasty splitter, sweeper, sinker, curveball, not only he has a strong repertoire, everything he does is amazing, one can only wonder how busy of a man he is, training batting practice, weight room, and bullpen every week, all while carrying a mediocre team, no wonder he needs so much sleep, I'm hoping for a speedy recovery and a good team so he can actually make it to the play offs.
@r.jguerra5526 @SonicCollectionsPS2Noisesz an interesting story i heard was (in 2018 ish), his high school team mate is underhand throw and asked Sho if there is demand/need for that in MLB. and Sho replied that he doesn't know if there is demand for two-way play as well, so just focus on your craft. Love his mentality!

I'm curious if it will make sense to turn Shohei into a closer once he recovers from his surgery. He proved he can close on a big stage when he struck Trout out to win the WBC. It would also likely prolong his career and make his offense even more potent since he won't have to worry about the significant recovery it takes the next day after throwing 100 pitches as a starter. It also makes me imagine that if he ever plays on a contender, he hits a go-ahead home run in the 8th inning of a World Series game, then comes into the 9th to save it. That would be amazing.
I was thinking that too but I don't think he would be satisfied with that. He's a better pitcher than he is a hitter. And that's saying a lot. I don't think he would be able to give that up easily
