This is just a stupid little #short of our recent brush with fame and stardom, participating in the filming of the UK Apprentice, Antigua, which aired a few weeks back in early April, 2023.
We didn’t want to post this prior to the show’s airing lest we give anything away, but the team of young gentlemen whom we supported were gracious and professional to a fault. They have bright futures ahead despite of the near suicidal risks they took going on a reality TV show where you stand a high chance of being brutally “fired” in front of 10M viewers. We commend them all! Well done!!!
We should also thank the film crew and others who must have seen us filming with our action cameras, and looked the other way. What is shown in this episode is an honest representation of what we saw, with very little editing. And if anyone out there dreams of working in TV production, let me tell you that it runs at a brutal pace. It’s very hard, high-pressure work, so kudos to the people behind the cameras, mics, and editing screens as well.
I hope you were enlightened at the Admiral Nelson museum - Britain's real action hero, and the sad end of Lady Hamilton. Looking forward to your next video.
It’s obvious Antigua has become your Winter home with various side trips to other nearby islands. With hurricane season approaching, will you be putting Talisman on the “hard” like last year? What a great way to spend the Winter😁
Hi Allan. Yes, we will pull here in early June. But the season is already winding down, with a lot of boats heading either heading for the travelift, or parts unknown. This year we did a full tour of the Windward and Leeward Islands, so we have a lot of sailing episodes coming up. We're just so far behind on editing. But it really is hard to beat Antigua, and it's nice to be back.
Even though I never watched the US Apprentice, I decided to watch that one episode of Apprentice UK. Yuck , though cool you were in it. I enjoyed your video about it much more.

1st Those J Class boats are beautiful. I've been on News Boy a few times. It has a grand piano. Have you seen a 165 ft. gaff rigged schooner called DEVA? I lived aboard it when it was called TeVega. I scanned through the show to see if you were on it. Why were you there? The show guy was flamboyant and that spoiled it for me. Go woke and go broke just like Anheuser Busch.
Hi Robert. Deva might be here now. Antigua classic sailing week just ended, and the big schooners were out in full regalia, albeit with light winds. But they don't need much. GWGB, I love it. A motto for the ages. It was a fun day though, and can't say a bad word about the guys on the yellow team and all the rest of the crew. It's seriously hard work.
