    As a jiu jitsu student for 8 months (and boxing experience), I have a deep appreciation for how realistic the martial arts is in this show. I believe other BJJ practitioners could agree but if you never trained and you watch a grappling match, you’d probably think it’s boring cuz u don’t know what’s going on 😅

I also loved the technicality of it to as a fighter I just love and appreciate how accurate it truly is and the real life cuts in the animation are very unique and amazing and the blue shots of him are something else. I liked the technical aspects of some of the moves, however there was simply not enough of it, and when it was there, it was often animated very poorly.
    Characters would just seem to teleport to wherever they were 'needed' to be without any showing of how they got there. Serious lack of flow in the combat.
    Sure, they might have used real grappling moves, but that's about the only highlight since they used those moves so poorly.
    I feel like maybe it could have been better if they paced everything better. It feels simultaneously too fast and too slow at the same time.

  • @MshadowsenseoC

    As a life long mma fighter, I absolutely loves this show. No dumb plot that raised the stakes to stupid levels, just a more reality drive anime. I do believe it is more niche, seeing that I believe mostly martial artist are gonna enjoy it more than non practitioners. The whole MC thing, I disagree with. No where in the show it shows that the MC is somehow overpowered. It is more about people with different backgrounds and the whole inner beast things confronting each other and that's all. Tanba for example is also a beast, no where is it told that he is over powered like the MC.
    When it comes to the combat, to someone like me, its amazing to see differect techniques used like the double leg, anke lock, etc. in an anime. Normally it's moves that aren't even a little bit grounded in reality. Anywat, thats my take. Not everything need to be flashy as you said in the video.

    I get the point of everyone saying the fighting choreography is amazing, and I can totally see that. However I don’t understand why random ass people are running up to the main guy (I keep forgetting his name), somehow finding him in the middle of fucking nowhere and starting a fight with him for no reason. Saying that cause the message of the show is most definitely not "control your inner beast you can be strong without going berserk"
      It's made very clear by the oleg the assassin charcter and his wife as well as juzo and the girl he likes and there Paralleling situations.
      Juzo ran away when he let his beast loose afraid of the girls reaction even though he killed somebody thinking or maybe even making himself think she was afraid of him while oleg took the girl in when he was in a similar situation and married her that showed juzo that his girl wasn't afraid of him that day .
      I'm not sure what the message of the show is but if anything it appreciates and respects the power and ferocity of letting your beast loose, another scene I really liked that touched that theme is the final fight when juzo was fighting with the most primal parts of him and the beutiful Ed song starts playing with him thinking of how that's the song his mother used to hum to him before she was murdered ,later the song merges with the op song showing how the beast in him is merging with him , that scene showed me how beutiful and strong the full spectrum of humans can be with the beast as well as the beauty of all you experienced and everything else combined

    Sometimes the body proportions be off with them thick necks and I wish they used rotoscope for the fights in there entirety. I'd take this over Kengan Ashura and Baki any day.
    Most BS thing I saw was that counter to the Tiger King. Show is plot is serviceable which is what I'm here for. 7/10

    • @Mr.RogersReview
      @Mr.RogersReview  Před 23 dny

      You misunderstood what I said about the MC being nerfed. The MC could easily beat anyone he fights but he holds back bc what he did in the past. Which is a way of nerfing to slow down the pacing. I’m not saying he’s weaker from what he was in the manga or whatever just held back

    • @grant6834
      @grant6834 Před 23 dny

      @@Mr.RogersReview He does beat his opponents easily, trying not to kill them in the process is what he struggles with, he got no issue killing an animal and when he go beast mode it's followed by a fatal blow.
      The people with the most influence regarding the pace were the general and cop, only if the MC chose not to fight at all would he have slowed the pace.
      His master said self he practiced the art in it's truest form. I get what you saying it just don't fit this MC's profile. Season 2 will see him return to form if we get it.

    Anything aside from the fighting is boring. And I mean anything. The fights are solid. They are well animated. I would probably the best animated out of all the martial arts anime on Netflix. I didn't find any of the fights "amazing". Meaning there's not really a fight that shows people really pushing hard. The closest to that was Fujimaki vs Himikawa. You're right, I was overreacting, but there's one thing. It's made for a specific crowd. It's low-budget, it has cool fights, and it's fanbase is far and few. It's like how Baki doesn't have much of a plot anymore, but people still love it. If the anime was 12 episodes instead of 8, I'm sure it would have been so much better, but it sadly wasn't. Because of that, we had to miss out on one of the best fights in the series and got no depth from Tatsumi or Nagata. I personally love this show and I just can't understand how it's boring or how the characters are boring.
