    Great video! The medical office I recently visited informed me, Dysport is a 3:1 ratio to Botox. It tends to be a little less per unit, but requires more units. On my last visit, I did 30 units Botox @ $310. This time with Dysport, had same 30 units but was @ $270. I started seeing results within 2 days. I’m sticking with the Dysport for future treatments.

    I'm 42 and I've been having Botox about every 4 months for the last two years. I Love it!!! Pain is so minimal. Only have a little pinch in certain areas. If you can tweeze your eyebrows, you can handle Botox. I don't mind aging,but I don't want to look haggard. I always notice it starting to work around day 3. I'm glad I watched this. I think I will just stick with my Botox. Thanks Angie❤️

    i just tried dysport about a month ago for the first time. when I had heard about it years ago it was a lot cheaper than botox, but as the popularity grew, so did the price. for me, I noticed a small difference a couple of days after my treatment. nothing huge, but it was something. it all kicked in, in under a week and I didn't get that "botox shine" that I always hated. it did spread much better and I will not be going back to botox. yay!!

    Good video...I have also tried both the botox and the dysport and agree with all of your points on both. Here in Georgia the dysport is much cheaper than the botox at least in the Savannah GA offices. The botox is normally $10 - $12 a unit but the dysport was only $4 per unit. I guess the price varies depending on where you live. Thanks Angie!

    I went to see a cosmetic surgeon for an estimate on my hooded eyes. He gave me advice and he also recommended botox as an alternative. He suggested I do not get botox in my forehead bcuz it will keep my eyebrows down. So his suggestion and another place remained the same: only get it on the eleven’s and upper eyelids, not in the forehead or my eyelids will not lift. Ive done it several times now and its true, keeps my eyelids lifted.

    Thank you so much for this video. I appreciate how open and honest you are with the procedures that you have had done.
    I have not had any procedures done YET, but have started looking in to having several done, so your videos are extremely helpful, I have gone back and watched several of them more than once.
    I've always heard about botox, and a few other procedures done by physicians, but it wasn't until I started watching CZcams videos(about 7 months ago) yours especially, that I've considered having anything done myself.
    I also have followed your recommendations on skin care products, very helpful. I wish I had known about your channel years ago, I might have paid more attention to my skin care. I'm 58, and didn't pay a whole lot of attention to skin care, until I went through menopause, about a year and a half ago, that changed my skin dramatically. I went from normal to slightly oily skin, to extremely dry, and it seemed like every fine line I had turned in to a deep set wrinkle! Having spent my entire life on the water hasn't helped.
    So anyway, a huge thumbs up to you, and your channel. Thank you so very, very much!

    Angie, Great informative review. I had botox injected between my brows a year ago. My Dermatologist did them. Funny thing it did not help my situation that much. I paid $350. Anyway after about 2 weeks everything looked the same, it was numb and couldn't move anything, but wrinkles still were deep and looked the same. So I went back in and he couldn't believe it did not relax those wrinkles so he injected 4 more units and told me to come back in 2 weeks. Well by then I was really numb and couldn't move there if I wanted to. After 2 weeks went back and it still had not relaxed the wrinkles like it should of. He said he couldn't put more cause it would be dangerous. So he told me I would have to have a lot of procedures to get those deep set wrinkles to look smoother. Well I can't afford everything that needs to be done and I am sick of looking like I am mad all the time. Maybe I will hit the lottery (ha ha). Your skin on your face looks fabulous. Thank God the injections work on you.
    Anyway you have a good week, Take Care and GOD BLESS YOU 😇😇

    Interesting that you say it takes the same amount of units. "According to the FDA, it takes a minimum of two times more units of Dysport® to get the same effect as Botox®. So, if the patient has opted for Botox® and received 20 units, the same patient will need 40 units of Dysport® for an equivalent treatment."

    • @janellgarcia4171
      @janellgarcia4171 Před 5 lety +1

      Right, while I love this video and its very informative, its not the same. Dysport units "needed" are 3x more than botox. So while you may only pay 5 a unit for Dysport, you need 3 units to the one unit of Botox. So yes the price is very similar when you add it all up but to say it is the same amount of units isnt really correct.

    Not sure what you've done differently in this video vs's your other current videos but you look so youthful! No joke. Your face looks a bit fuller in some areas, perhaps different contour? Whatever you've done took years off. You look so refreshing, radiant, youthful and absolutely beautiful!!! I appreciate your videos and advice, I'm 42 and starting to age. Everyone tells me my skin/face is flawless but I have 2 deep lines on my forehead and a tiny amount around my eyes that I'm trying to reverse. I feel in my 20's and I wish to look that way as well ;) lol.... You certainly DO NOT look your age, not remotely close!
    Funny story, we were in Florida yesterday (traveling the county) and I was having a discussion with the clerk about voting. My 20yr old son was standing a few feet away getting a drink and the clerk asked "who's your husband voting for" and looked at my son. I laughed so hard and told him that's my oldest son but thank you, and that my husband is 6years younger than I and calls me a old batalax.... lol... He told me I look 30 and my husband is one lucky man. The clerk was probably 20yrs old. Made my day! When I told my husband he said the FL sun must have damaged his thought process. lmao..... Keep doing what you're doing, you are absolutely stunning and your videos are so helpful to so many 💕💕💕

    More units of Dysport are needed to get the same effect as Botox. In fact the ratio is slightly higher than double, at 2.5 or 3:1. Usually the prices will end up being comparable, since Dysport is cheaper per unit than Botox but you need more units of it.

    Thankfully my skin care, and my lack of deep wrinkles in the areas that respond to Botox are currently effective for pretty much preventing the need for Botox. I tried it twice for therapeutic pain control for severe TMD, and I was one of the very few who gets very ill from the injections. It was horrible (nausea, vomiting, quesiness, etc.); it only worked about 20%, and it totally wore off in less than six-eight weeks. Had it worked for my chronic pain, I would have loved the added cosmetic benefit, but it failed miserably on both fronts. I wouldn't even try Dysport for the same reasons. Just wanted to make you aware that there are people who cannot tolerate this kind of intervention whatsoever. Take care, Angie, Sherrey❤

    I just want to say thank you for your videos. I don't know how old you are, but you look great! I am guessing in your 50's but a very beautiful 50's. You don't look over done and you are so honest about what you have done. I just turned 40 and I just got my first botox today for the 11s on my forehead. I did it because you look so good and I am sick of the creases that have began to fix on my forehead. I don't see any results yet. She did three injections on me. She started low I believe she said 4 on each side and 3 in the middle. She said if I don't have good results to come back in 10 days to have a bit of a touch up. I wanted to start slowly to see if I had any bad reaction. It was really painless and I didn't even have any redness after about 10 minutes. I was surprised. I don't know but I got sort of a buzz off of just doing it. Mainly because I was so anti anything in my early thirties, but 40 was an eye opener for me. I think you make aging look fine and you do it tastefully. I really did it because of your videos. Even though I don't have the results yet of what exactly it did, I am confident that I make the right choice for myself. I will let you know how it pans out in 3-4 days!

      DKEK4 When I was looking into Dysport I read online that it is often used if someone has built up a resistance to Botox... so I'm assuming it happens. I know for myself, that Botox definitely doesn't last as long as it used to.. so I'm hoping a swap will make a difference. Though for Ange it didn't seem to make a big one... though I'd be happy for just a bit longer between treatments. Will have to see how it goes! :)

    I'm so glad to hear it takes 2-3 weeks for you to see the results. I just took advantage of a 20 unit free trial of botox 12 days ago. It was offered to patients that have never tried botox before. So far, I am disappointed. My results on my furrows are pretty minimal and was starting to think botox just didn't work on me. However, from some of what I've read, it could be the placement of the injection. My follow up appt is in a couple days, so I'm trying to be patient. Have you ever experienced botox with very little results?

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  Před 8 lety +1

      Hi Tammy~ How nice to get 20 units for free! At 12 days I feel like you should be seeing some results, but it depends on where they placed it and if 20 units was enough to do the job. Sometimes the goal with these give-aways is to get you to come back for a follow-up where they'll kindly sell you more to achieve the goal you set out for. It's still 20 units free, but any additional will cost you. Generally speaking 20 units isn't enough to do the whole forehead. Good luck!

      Yes, I feel the same has happened with me if I stay on top of my visits (about every 3-4 months but I'm 44 so I have more going on than you!). I definitely feel that I get better results & they last longer than if I wait until everything wears off as I've done in the past. I work for a Doc that does Botox & fillers on the side & have learned a ton from him. I would say not waiting until the Botox/Dysport/Xeomin wears off is a huge advantage.

    well it looks like you had a run for you're money, yes they both work the same... the only exception is dysport, has a different ratio for botox. If you are getting 10 units of botox you should need about 30 units of dysport..... so some injectors will give you about a 2 to 1 ratio for dysport to botox and some will give you a 3 to 1 ratio. yes they both work great, no one is not cheaper than the other. to achieve the same look you will need more dysport units than botox units.

    My experience with dysport was pretty different than my experience with botox and I only ever get my 11s done. I tried dysport first because my Dr's office was offering a special. It took about a week to two weeks to see it working, and then when it kicked in I still had significant movement in my 11s. I had to go back and get additional units, I think it was about 6 more. It wore off after 3 months, when I went back and got it a second time, I had the same exact experience...even though they used a few more units to begin with, I still had to go back for a few more. Again it lasted 3 months almost exactly. The third time they got the units right and I did not have to go back. The fourth time I decided to try botox. What a difference! The main thing was that I started to notice effects within a couple of days! I could not believe it.. (five years later, I still see the effects starting within days of my injections). The second thing was that it took the same amount of units, 28, to have an effect. Third, the effect was better overall. Less movement and more of a slight lift to my brows. With both products I have always had some minor movement left, I have very strong frown muscles, but the Botox is definitely stronger on me. Unfortunately, it only lasted 3 months just like the dysport. After five years of consistently having it, I am finally starting to be able to stretch my injections to closer to 4 months, but again, it is my super strong frowny muscles, they come back quick! Anyway, for me, botox is way better, having my face look better almost immediately as opposed to waiting weeks for the full effect is major when you consider that I only get 3-4 months out of it. If I have to wait 3 weeks total for dysport to kick in totally, that means I was getting a product that really only lasted 2 months. Botox is pricey for me....(but worth it, worth it, worth it!!)

    I found this sooooo helpful because I have been going back-and-forth between the two and my injector has a Botox preference but I felt like the disport was better in someway but I couldn’t put my finger on it and then when you talk about THE SPREAD 💥 That’s it! That’s exactly what I notice in the forehead, eyebrow area. Going back to Dysport. Thank you!!!
