Surprisingly it only took about 2-3 years of research to get to ASE, then another 1-1.5 to get ACE. RETIRE's video on the subject covers some of it, but if people are interested I could make a timeline of what happened when

I shit you not, long ago, when I was in high school, I had a friend who knew the void glitch and it wasn't well documented back in the day. I never expected it to be this developped. And by back in the day, I mean like, straight up in the year of its release. This shit is so impressive.
In hindsight, it probably would have taken longer to find if we didn't already know about the void from the really easy glitch in the early-print Japanese copies.

You should look into how the Arcues void glitch works, it's pretty wild and is almost impossible if not for a feature of PalPark.

The only reason they didn't do manaphy,Phione & Arceus because they said they should get their own event plus we also got origin forme Dialga & Palkia & Shiny Shaymin that was big enough they did the same with Mega Rayquaza they didn't put it during the Hoenn Tour because the Primals were Released so just chill and be patient because this year looks like it's gonna be focus on Gen 7
I love these extensive glitch pokemon videos so much, I can't explain why. Something about someone or a group of people coming together to cause absolute shenanigans in their favorite old games is so fun to watch, and sometimes even follow along to if I'm bored! I've gotten into gen 5 RNG manipulation to get some perfect IV shinies, and finding out Manaphy has options for shiny manipulation is BIG news; hopefully this process gets a little bit easier so I could follow along and try one for myself, needing to do all the ACE related steps scared me a little bit ngl 💀
Fun fact: other than legendaries and the like, buneary is the only pokemon to start with 0 friendship, because it be bunny and bunnies are difficult to be friends with.
I have a pet bunny. Zipper, named after the monstrosity from Animal Crossing. He warmed up to me pretty quickly and is friendly. However he is sassy. He took his empty food bowl and let me know about it. 😅
Ironically, the fastest way to get bunearys friendship higher before getting your second badge is to repeatedly kill it in a gym battle
At low friendship pokemon get +3 friendship for just challenging a gym leader, and -1 for fainting, for medium friendship its +2, and for high friendship its +1. Its much more reliable than walking because its a 50% chance every 128 steps for a +1. The reason for fainting in the gym battle is so we can challenge the gym again. From catching buneary you would need to challenge the gym 150 times, walk an average of 51200 steps, or level it up over 50 times. I think i would rather challenge the gym lol. Plus youll have the satisfaction of having an abnormally low level lopunny that you can brag evolved before getting your second badge.
The funny thing is, that most of these glitches will eventually be possible in bdsp.
How people even find these out is BEYOND ME, props to them fr, and to you for actually going through ALL OF THAT for a very mid-looking shiny Manaphy.

Abuse your buneary so much it becomes a masochist?

The Darkrai and shaymin glitches are vastly different from even when I got mine. When I did the glitches it was not needed to do the ledge advances and the steps were relatively short too, so it was about 15 minutes between start and finish to get to where Darkrai or Shaymin or Arceus were.
because this guy is making the mons show up forcefully while the easier way for casuals is to just get to the event location
The cache issue is funny because there is a common saying in programming circles which is "There are 2 hard problems in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-1 errors."

Personally, I like all four Are-sea-us, Are-say-us, Are-kay-us, and Are-key-us being cannon. It fits that the mysterious god has multiple names.
And it’s kinda like the Pokémon name, with all of the pronounciations.

Gen 4 glitching STILL has so much potential. I’m so happy that people still break these games. With remakes and an additional 5 generations ahead of the original Sinnoh launch, the fact that we still are learning this much makes me so happy.

I love how over the past few years Shiny Manaphy turned from "You only get one chance per copy, *ever,* and if it doesn't work you lose it forever" to "OK yeah turns out you can hunt it as many times as you want" to "OK so turns out you can use glitches to get as many Shiny Manaphys as you want because gen 4 is our fucking bitch."

ive been in love with the void glitch since i got the game as a kid and bricked my old save, seeing what it has evolved into is beautiful.
With Manaphy being my favorite Pokémon and this video showing up in my recommended this is probably the best video ever made.
I actually used blisy's guide for pokemon soul silver when i started playing back in january and it was really helpful
Watching this video, and more specifically, the void stuff parts had led me to wonder if it's possible to ever free my OG diamond save from being trapped in the top floor of the Pokémon center (with no collision, but the ability to still move), due to my friend messing with an action replay and not doing so carefully like I had warned him to. (for reference I showed him how you could talk to the union room lady form within the counter or behind her and he wanted to try it out, but instead he chose to do it from the side, thus trapping me on the top floor/in the Union Room seemingly forever, only able to leave the union room or comm error back into it using the poketch)

6:26 it's actually less that friendship grinding is exceptionally slow here, but rather that Buneary has a base of 0 friendship whenever received
it's the only non-legendary, mythical, ultra beast, or paradox Pokemon to do this
most will have 70 friendship at base, and it requires 220 to evolve prior to gen 8

HEY as someone who has done the Darkrai hunt!! I hunted mine in Diamond. As long as its above level 50 and without pursuit itll transfer up. said shiny darkrai is currently on my Violet :)

When I got a JP 1.0.0 Pearl for christmas a few years ago, RETIRE helped me get Darkrai, Shaymin, AND the infinite Arceus setups from surfing on the elite four door into the void. He was super helpful and honestly I don't think I thanked him enough!
That being said, I'm 100% going to try ACE in gen 4 now that it's more streamlined. Maybe I won't be getting hundreds of shiny Manaphy, but I will get silly with it.

There's something so charming about the game just breaking so completely if you manage to get a single kakuna to the hall of fame three times in a row.
I did the old routes back in 2018, and wow they were insane. Over 1 1/2 hours to get to some of the mons. It’s crazy how we only knew the long ways and not the short ways
The sheer setup this takes makes me glad I was able to just RNG manip a Ranger egg that I never claimed from the second game. Yeesh.

Jeesh. The last time I checked on tweeking, the tutorial was smth along of "wiggle the Dpad here and there in Jubilife". Yes it's been many years, and it's astonishing how far the DP glitching culture has come, even being of influence up until the very recent titles. Somehow I wish I would've entered the community back then to witness the progress... but alas, it's entertaining to watch videos like this without understanding much.

I use "I'm a blissy" for a lot of my rng too, used his tutorials to get a manaphy I had already recived shiny in a new save. Even modified one to get the Alola startrs shiny
amazing video I just have one small inquiry, if I wanted to do this with an official Manaphy egg and just reset the TIDSID each reset would I need to put my Manaphy egg onto the save file before going through with the glitch? I just don't want to risk going through the whole set up to mess up at the last step
If you're playing a copy of the game that can set up the postman version, you can do anything you want in the game, except receive mystery gifts and record a new chattot cry. So you'd be able keep the egg off of the save file until it's set up.
On a language that can't, you'd want to transfer it over first, because you won't be able to leave that room of the pokemon league building without losing the nurse, so you'd have to redo the glitch again.
This is the most tedious insane thing i’ve ever seen and somehow Im still entertained at 6am

Awesome video! I just sent a box of shiny manaphys to Home. Started at 7 AM, with my sisters old safefile on diamond with nearly no pause, so exactly 12 hours but was worth it. Had to do it with kakuna because i couldnt find the gyarados, theres an iv to pid but no pid searcher in pokefinder... how did you find it? I did the 5000 steps bike section about 10 times because when i hit x x the game always crashed or did sth else... but in the end i did it :) i also sent some manaphys to SS for legend ribbons and did some contests with others. Thank you so much!
You use a Poké finder search tab to look for any specific IVs and nature you want and pick a pid from the available options

I wonder if there's a way to get eggs of shaymin, darkrai, and manaphy in one of my games and then remove the fact they were hatched from eggs somehow? hmmm. anyways cool video :)
