    Installing a new dashcam is not easy however you will enjoy the time you'll spend to fit the camera and wire everything. It's not easy and it took me more than 3 hours, however it was a nice challenge. I fully enjoyed and learned a few things about the car.
    I learned that if I have to change the fuses it will be a very unfortunate day for me, haha.
    After a few days of using it I can say I am happy with what I bought.

      @@ionut.litoiu hi there, the camera is working fine most of the times. It’s not free from occasional error, such as error of SD card, freezed screen or warnings that I’m not connected to emergency response services. These services are paid btw and I’m not in the uk anyways. For the rest it’s fine. Unfortunately the camera did not pick up any malicious activities around the car while the car was parked, apparently it would only turn on if there was a serious blow to the car, like another car crashing into it. It’s too bad. I saw a Tesla parked in my street and it seems to have some sensor which activate upon movement around the car. The screen in the car then lights up and the cameras start rolling. That’s pretty cool 😎 ..

    I really wish cars would start offering both USB pass-throughs and a couple USB power ports up near the rear-view mirror. It would make mounting stuff like this so much easier. I'm considering getting the same kit since it's on sale right now. I'm not sure about the separate rear-view camera though, I open and close my hatch a dozen times a day. Not sure that magnet mount would hold up. Thanks for the video!

    • @SEPAChannel
      @SEPAChannel  Před 2 lety +1

      I have had no issues with that and I did used the car a bit at certain times. I think the magnet would last you quite a bit. if you already got that, as you I see the post is from 1 month ago, please share with us your experience with the kit.
      Oh, and yes, I can totally agree with you, some USB's around the mirror would be a good add (usbs with some good/fast charging also)

And also is a cool ganget, plus it helps if you do not have a rear camera and u wanna make sure is 100% safe to reverse. So after one full year with this camera, the only dislikes are that the internal battery is poor, and yes i have fully charged it indoors, and secondly, i have trouble turning it off(which may be linked to what I'mabout to say:-) i press the button as per instructions but still wont turn off, so i have a tendency to leave it until the battery dies, i should really take it off its mounting, but most times i leave it in car.
    I have it plugged into power socket at the moment which leaves the wire dangling down from the camera, i will get it propely fitted in time.
    apart from that, its good, night vision relies on the headlights to pick up detail but still good considering, i have every intention to buy the rearward facing camera soon and will report back when i do.

      Hi George, It records in a loop, each recording lasting 3 minutes and when memory is full will erase old recordings. At the same time, if G sensor is triggered or you lock a video will not delete it until you either delete it by yourself or format the card. depending on how big is the storage capacity, the more the merier. Thank you for watching the video. Once you install your cam, let us know how it works. if it's the same model or a different one.

    @ItsTheLondonFella Před 4 lety +4

    Hello Buddy,
    Thank you for the review. This is yet another review that really seems to be in favour of this dash cam.
    I'm having really bad luck with my new car, so need to get a dash cam (or the car will sadly have to go.) My biggest, and honestly, only requirement, is recording when I'm away from the car if/when some b*****d knocks my car. I don't want to rip my new car to pieces, hardwiring one of these things, therefore battery life is hugely important to me.
    Which leads to my question: Can you please let me know how good the battery life is on this model, with regards to it starting to record when it detects a knock (from another vehicle) when the engine is off and you are away from the car? More specifically, how long (in days?) would the battery last if you were away from the vehicle? Also, how accurate is the knock detection? Eg when someone parallel parks too close to you, and hits your car?
    I have a convertible, so can't have a separate camera on my rear "window," therefore do you think the rear view camera add on would be good enough for protecting the rear of my car? Again, I'm referring to recording knocks when the engine is off and I am away from the car. Or do you think the optional cabin view plug in camera would do a better job of this?
    Thanks again for your review, and I'd really, really appreciate your feedback re my queries.
    All the best!

    • @SEPAChannel
      @SEPAChannel  Před 4 lety +4

      Hello mate.
      Thank you for your time watching this video. We are happy to see you found it useful. Regarding your question, please find the following details:
      1. Regarding recording while away:
      The Dashcam does not record continously when engine is off as the way I wired it (the fuse I connected in the fuse panel) cuts the power supply when engine is off (when removing they key) so this is really a matter of prefferences also it inflictes the way in which car's battery is used so please do a little bit of more research if your are thinking about hardwiring it directly from the car's battery.
      Nextbase Cam has an internal battery that it can last up to 3 days, however the catch is: cuts everything except the G'Sensor which is a gyroscope sensor and when it feels a motion will turn-on the camera, and will record for 3 minutes and lock the recording as it will not delete unless you specifically delete it or format the SD Card.
      You can extend the period it can work without turining on the engine by buyng an external battery and hardwire the battery at the fuse first, then connect the Dashcam to the battery, it will cost you around a £50 more.
      Based on my understanding you need or want a really professional camera,I would suggest you a Black Vue camera as it does so many things, hardwired also with an external battery and you'll need a DATA Sim Only Mobile Broadband in the car so your dashcam will stay always connected to internet, you can check videos while in your holiday in Spain or if an accident you will be notified directly on your phone, works pretty much as a full car security measure, however it won't cost you £200-£250 anymore, we're talking about £450-£500 at least, depending on the model and you'll need to either pay a DATA Sim Only or Mobile Broadband or park your can within a Broadband/Wi-Fi area so it will always stay connect.
      Anyway, We would strongly recommend you the Next Base cam, however if you'll find another Dashcam or you go for a BlackVue you're most then welcome to share your toughts and result with us as we are always interested in finding new stuff and opinions. Thank you my friend and all the best, hopefully no more issues with your car.

    • @SEPAChannel
      @SEPAChannel  Před 4 lety +3

      you won't see any wires mate if you do the hardwiring properly. And no, does not record all night. You will need a battery for that and then connect the camera to the battery then the battery to the Car battery. Depending on how good that external battery is, you can get quite some time.
      It does have however a G-Sensor and will record if any motion. You have 3 levels to set-it up.
