Thanks for sharing, CASCOM Public Affairs .
This video gave me more insight of what my grandson went through there at Ft.Lee last year.
Great to see how these soldiers are trained to keep our military vehicles moving in protecting of our great country .

How much auto mechanic skills do really learn from 91B AIT? What do you learn? How much actual hands on? do you learn how to change time belts, brakes, alternator, engine swap?

You don't learn anything other than to follow instructions on a manual (which everybody already knew).

Went to ft lee, Same as most bravos. Acceptable amount of freedom, be grateful for it. However, myself being a delta, I'm a better bravo than those that are churned out mass produced. AIT should be longer and more focused on our technical skills. I've served with bravos who I taught more about their job (I'm a delta) with skills learned on the civilian side than what they came with.
I'm just saying, ultimately, more power should be given to the civilian instructors (who are all prior military) who know better. That is where ft lee (in my time at least) was starting to excel for ordnance. Allow those that had experience teach as opposed to those who were in career purgatory be the plt sgts and shit. Overall I felt a lack of training from the bravos and as a delta(our job was in high demand where I was) I should not have had to train the younger soldiers outside of my mos.

Nice to see another old-school 63, esp. with the H8! I was a 63BH8, trained both at Ft. Dix, NJ in '90 (as well as Basic).
