      No actually it's from Kluosi, this one: www.aliexpress.com/item/4001036484239.html Pretty fair price for what it is. If you look back in the community tab I ran a few test cycles on this and another of their packs before flying them, they work OK.

      @@EnglishTurbines Right! The funny part is with a 4S 5200 lipo I had to add weight in the front where the HD camera would normally go since I don't fly one on here. Using this heavier battery I was able to remove most of that weight and replace it with useful payload. AUW isn't much heavier if any using this vs the lipo.

      Guess what I was doing earlier? lol Reptile Dragon 2 is on the workbench, minus a vector and plus a Matek F765-Wing. It will be my next Ardupilot project, but I have no idea when I'll get it done. We've got some rainy weather coming so I figured I better jump on it now and work on that while I can't fly.

    • @bonafidepirate
      @bonafidepirate  Před 3 lety +2

      lol I've found myself flying the Vector less and less since getting into iNav and Arduplane. I really haven't done that much with Arduplane either, not as much as I'd like for sure. I built the Reptile Dragon 2 with a Vector in it, it works as well as expected, but I've been very close to putting it back on the bench and pulling the Vector to put in a Matek board to run Arduplane in it... lol That's still the plan, just not sure when I'll do it. Probably soon. I still like the Vector for all that it is, it's just not as fun to fly for me anymore since I'm enjoying learning other FCs.

      @@bonafidepirate I agree, this Arduplane on my F765 Matek is just flying sublime. I'd like to say that the plane is a Balsa 48"span, different to a smaller wing type that are a little more lively.

  • @thrillhillairlines4526

    Learned a lot from vids. Bout to make a donation. I finally got mine in the air last week. My failed launches were due to servo clevis coming out of the foam just a little. Once I looked close I saw that glued them down and boom she was off. I autotuned it and put 23 miles on it. I was heavy on the throttle so I'll be watching that on my next flight and set my trim_throttle. I will try that overhead throw next time with autolaunch. I side tossed it with full throttle in FBWA to get it up. I did have TKOFF programmed on my previous failed attempts.

    • @bonafidepirate
      @bonafidepirate  Před 3 lety

      I'm using one of my flight modes set as "takeoff". Normally I'd just launch in FBWA with maybe a bit of "up elevator" mix on a switch for a slow climb out. That's how I've done it in the past with various flight controllers. I decided to try the auto takeoff on Arduplane and liked it so I stuck with it. It's always been a bit sketchy for me launching this wing like I do my others. I was a bit nervous trying the overhead/back method since it would take me longer to get my radio and get control if it went bad, since I had to sit it on the ground while I launched, but it was so easy and uneventful I think I'll use that all the time from now on... lol Thanks for the support too, BTW, it's never expected or required but definitely appreciated!

    Are your antennas pointing South like usual for this flight? I see you're flying mainly east of your runway, did you have to move the antennas or do you get that kind of reception with them still pointing South?

    • @bonafidepirate
      @bonafidepirate  Před 3 lety

      I usually point at least one of the antennas in the direction I plan to fly. I did intentionally fly out to the side of my antennas one day just to see how far I could go... lol czcams.com/video/i9hjDbV-zYo/video.html

    Pretty sure I saw someone say that VG's will help with the stability, if you have a 3d printer it'd be cool to see if that's true or not. Also checkout the PRANDTL wing from Eclipson, it eliminates adverse yaw. Your AR Wing Pro videos are great, I hate the stabilized footage that everyone keeps uploading.

    How do your planes fly so smoothly? All my planes fly like Michael J. Fox is behind the sticks. Even when in manual mode.

    • @bonafidepirate
      @bonafidepirate  Před 3 lety +1

      Just a combination of a good CG, decent tuning in the FC, favorable conditions, etc. I typically avoid flying on days when there's a decent amount of gusty winds, as I never enjoy the rough ride... lol Anything below 5mph is usually pretty smooth for me here, unless it's coming form the north then it gets rough down low near home as the wind gets turbulent behind the tree line and flood level to the north. Other than that it's usually pretty smooth sailing... lol

    Thank you.....I have the exact problem with the the GPS (also using HGLRC) on 4.1. The blue led is flashing like normal, but gives the "no GPS" and no lat/long in Mission Planner. It was so frustrating and nobody seemed to know the reason. Any recommendation on a new gps?

    • @returntohomefpv3232
      @returntohomefpv3232 Před 3 lety

      I also didn't get my GPS to work when I flashed Arduplane. But that was probably due to my own fault as I didn't quite know what I was doing. The software is little complicated to navigate and figure out, in my opinion. Been happily flying iNav ever since, but I should probably give Arduplane another go..

    • @bonafidepirate
      @bonafidepirate  Před 3 lety

      You shouldn't need to replace the GPS, I think it should be fixed soon. I already received a custom build as of this morning with a proposed fix to test. If it works as expected I'd expect it to make it into a future release soon. 4.0.9 release still works fine for now too.

      @@bonafidepirate Yup, I reflashed with 4.09 using the same params and no change to GPS and it works without an issue. That was the frustrating part. I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Is the Dragon Link better then DJI's digital fpv link? Im looking for options to add to a streaming kit that allows a digital output that can be piped in to an IP based multicamera setup.
