2022 EX tech package owner here. We love this van.
When I first saw the Kia Carnival, I thought it was an SUV and not a minivan. I really like this car and I will be purchasing one soon.
I'm impressed.
Beautiful Carnival SX-Prestige. Would have been nice if they had placed a Prestige badge on the horn button. Thanks for the review Ben.
I’m definitely not a mini van person but wow this is nice! I love all the features also!
Great video and info thanks so much for sharing! My wife is wanting to trade her Yukon for this. Your video has helped me out immensely 😊thanks!
This vehicle is brilliant. However, I’m having a hard time understanding why they don’t offer an AWD version.
:(
@@threeormorethis is what you advocate for czcams.com/users/shortsrpAH2Ju8VH0?si=oV_mLFgUaYf91QT7
No AWD?!
@@joshlarson5316 I think in Canada they do
Agreed… need an awd
Awesome video keep up with a great work and be safe out there.
Would be better if the word “cool” wasn’t used tens of time
All I want to know is if this is as reliable as a Honda Odyssey. I have 260,000 miles on mine with zero issues, and it’s time for something new. Just hesitant on the reliability aspect of the Kia. Would love some insight.
Some of the things may turn you off are; Turn Signal in the bumpers, No DIY roof rail installation on EX&LX trims.
AWD should’ve been made an option for the top tier model of the 2024 model, esp if they have a diesel turbz engine option
Can you put a wonderfold wagon in he back? I have a W4 and its a beast.
2:20 you can push the button to open those sliding doors.
I suppose current sales are going for MSRE? When I bought mine, the going rate was 5 to $6K above MSRE for the SXP. Shopping around, and ordering it, I got it for MSRE. Delivery was only 10 weeks from Korea. They build the Telluride in S. Carolina I believe, but the Carnival comes from Korea.
Does the '24 have wireless apple carplay?
Does it have a spare tire included?
Haha, what a trip! This is in Salt Lake City off 1300 South. I drive that daily to my warehouse. I was not expecting that when searching for this video
AGREED!!! Love mine.. 2024 SXP w/the recliner 2nd row. Wow! totally amazed at the smoothness of the suspension. The tires NEVER squeel around corners, and much smoother than my air Ride Lincoln. Maybe some special shocks? The engine is truly a torque monster down low.. pulls hard from 1200 RPM! Transmission shifts very smooth, a little slower than I would expect. Very little difference in the drive modes, I stick with smart. The drivers aids are amongst the absolute best, I'll be driving past 100 yrs old in this! Both sunroofs and all four door windows Open Wide! It's a friggin Convertible to boot! My bald spot is happy . Best car ever.. plus handles great unlike an SUV. I use 93 octane and am pushing 27 MPG at 75MPH. Rarely even around town hits less than 24. With 87 octane, the engine was a little bumpy.. almost like very close to pinging, but no ping, mileage a couple less. Use 93, a 12.3 compression ratio Direct Injection needs the good stuff.
I have a Kia Sedona with 135000 miles only have wear and tear problems. Just bought a hybrid Sportage so I’ll wait on the carnival maybe awd comes
So what's the difference between the 2024 vs the 2022 kia carnival? It seems the same
Maybe I missed, but is it still FWD only?
I like it 😊!!!
This fully loaded although it's missing the Headrest TVs and the VIP Captain chars for thr 2nd row
VIP chairs no good. Can’t safely use them reclined when driving so it’s a parking lot feature.
Does it have an off road mode?
These will probably catch on 🔥. 2023- 24 Odyssey for Me
The odyssey isn’t perfect either, you can catch the kias issues and have them fixed if you know what you’re looking for but Honda mechanics say it’s likely most odysseys of this current gen will have infotainment glitches even in the dash display, and brake issues. Not to mention the trans 😬 at least Kia warranty will stick around nearly twice as long as hondas
@wellgeeslugger6825 Honda been fixed their Odyssey transmission issues. I had a 2012 sold it to my cousin, and he still has it with 130,000 miles. My neighbor has a 2015 with over 210,000 miles bulletproof. Honda has alternator issues
Someone should get it lifted and some thick tires … would love to see how that would look
This vehicle is quite loaded. Outside it could pass for a crossover or suv. I was looking at the interior thinking this vehicle has features that luxury cars have. You have to admit it is fighter being in the mini van segment. Sad to say GM nor Ford compete in the segment anymore. Thank you Ben.
I definitely thought it was an suv.
I only consider American car companies, so, first any car made by General Motors, then any car made by Ford, and I'm not sure if I considered Tesla's American cars, but possibly. I would not consider Chrysler, since they were purchased by Fiat, which makes them an Italian car company.
@@timothycorbitt5149then you’re only buying shit cars lmao
@@timothycorbitt5149as an automotive service writer, you’re choosing the worst cars on the market.
How’s the interior noise?
Vehicle of this size weight a lot but still get great mpg is insane, around 33/34mpg...my friend own one of these and so far great vehicle to drive..but of course its a diesel option in my country
@Brian Lee 😂😂😂 but i still prefer petrol over gasoline 😂😂🤷🏻♂️😛😛
0:35 he said it's 19/26 mpg
@@joseville 19/26mpg for petrol/gasoline in US market...for other country, you can opt diesel engine which my friend bought one and can around 33/34mpg
@@dolguldur4706 if i can get diesel in USA I will buy it instantly !!! other-way its just another minivan with slightly better quality material than cheap toyota.
Nice family car ❤
No DVD?
Okay, i currently drive a car i was gifted, but im already researching for my next car or if my husband ever wants me to have an extra car or two cuz he himself has 3 vehicles, i now have two dream cars. Rn, i drive a 2019 chevy traverse, i love my car, but my dream cars are now this and the Subaru ascent
Thanks for the review. Definitely some food for thought, but I hate that, like my aging Sienna, I have to again store seats in the garage to have room for a dog crate and walker / wheelchair in the back and groceries in the 2nd row area. UGH! The Pacific's reliability concerns me, but I think some of their models still have stow and go 2nd rows?
As an aside, do others really like the new orange and black interiors that seem to be popular recently? I was surprised to see those colors on high-end Pacificas, too, because they remind me of Halloween rather than a luxury driving experience.
We have an aging sienna too. 2011. Fixed lots this year. Running great. But interior lights come on on their own…what to f d o
I liked this car but side impact safety rating is a problem for me.
How do I get the SX Prestige trim with 8 passenger seating. I don't want the fancy lounge chairs. On KIA's corp website, it says the prestige trip has 7 passenger seats. Please help!
The seat configuration is optional for SXP, it’s possible to have 8 seats.
They do build the 8 seat Prestige, just check the window sticker to make sure it's 8 seat.
how does the quality of a kia feel? i always have drove fords, i had one dodge and interior was trash. does everything feel durable?
Bro you bought a dodge... the interior on the carnival is insane
I thought these seat 11 with 4 rows?
The carnival needs digital rear view mirror to be perfect💯
It has 3D cameras super great
@@mauricelinton5867 can you use them while your driving down the highway?
@@biggermoney_1681 ah I see what your saying now, think I misread that. I didn’t even know that was a thing! Lol
@@biggermoney_1681 hey so the prestige does come with a package where not only can you watch the rear but you can check the sides and front all while driving
Would be nice if these were available in the northeast in less than a six month wait.
Ordered a ‘24 SX prestige carnival last month from a dealership in Texas. I was originally told by other dealerships that it’s a 6 month wait to have it made, but the salesman from the dealer i went to told me that it’s probably closer to a 2-3 month wait. And he was correct. I just got notification that the car will arrive at the dealership in a week and will be ready to drive out the lot within a few days after that, so barring any major surprises it’d be closer to a 2 month wait!
@@as-oc8go as it turns out, mine came in in two months also. I am pleased.
I think Honda and Toyota do a better job of maximizing usable space in the front row. The big center console (that unlike the Toyota lacks space underneath) with lots of gloss back doesn't seem like a match for what a minivan is for. The tech though is on point.
Because is for a different market, I see this minivan for a younger generation and one’s coming that don’t identify with minivans
I rather have less space than a crappy engine that blows up. Xd
Any chance of a hybrid option?
Not this year
I'm waiting for the hybrid option as well
I have a 2016 sienna minivan, Looking for a van that I can sleep in while camping. My sienna good but , I’m always looking. Thanks for sharing 👍
minivans are great.
Good car
I just bought one in ceramic silver! Love it so much! It’s just as luxurious as my husband’s Tesla model y performance, but not nearly as fast💨 . All the high tech features
How much did you pay above MSRP?
Amazing buteful
I am having a hard time finding a SX prestige......
Wow, is the engine going to die after 70k too?
Exterior color?
Panthera? I think.
We didn’t get the prestige cuz we need 8 seats but the SX is on point. Makes me want to get my own KIA.
The carnival SX prestige in the video has 8 seats. I have a 2023 SX prestige with 8 seats. KIA made it an option in 2023.
You can get an 8 seat version of the prestige
@@simoneseymour6050 Can your 8 seat SX prestige 2nd row be removed or are they stuck in place?
SX is the sweet spot though. Congrats!
There is a prestige with 8 seats, I got that one. The seats also come out and can turn backwards. Very versatile
hoping dealers by me won’t try to price gouge like covid is still around
Fit car❤
Reliability ratings? Safety ratings?
No foot rest?
No mini bar?
Piano black everywhere a person would touch 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️. When design is more important than practical use.
Ben...every video you complain about the window glare when showing the sticker...can you really not park somewhere so that we can all see clearly? I do enjoy your videos, so not trying to be negative.
I came here to see kia cenant stream in jamiaca 😅
Ben u talk way to fast brother ,slow down and cover the interior better seat stowage, middle row has various adjustments, including removal, Thanks
Are they reliable tho 🥴
My dad has this car and my dads carnival has a tv
Wanted to love this but it missed for me on several fronts:
Hard seats especially third row
Somewhat clunky 8 speed
No hybrid
Need to get top-most trim to get *any* sunroof at all
Very limited storage and lacks typical minivan open area or cubby between front seats compared to competition
Somewhat cramped front seats
Rear seat screens interfere with space for rear -facing car seats in second row
Most dealers still charging markups over msrp
Otherwise a great car but these were big misses.
U don't want a kia/hyundai hybrid....trust me.....or watch "the car nut"
Are the 2nd and first row seats actually uncomfortable or mainly the 3rd row? They look well cushioned and maybe need to break in due to material? And it’s interesting you’re the only one I have heard say it lacks storage compared to competition when it is class leading in cargo space especially with all rows up. Only close contender worth looking at is the odyssey but all the minivans available today have their own fair share of issues and quirks.
@@wellgeeslugger6825 I didn’t find the front or middle row seats uncomfortable, but just not as comfortable as the odyssey. The third row seats of the carnival were definitely too hard for adults in my opinion. If you compare the seats back to back you will notice a big difference. In terms of storage, I was referring to cupholders, cubby holes, and things like that. Not overall cargo capacity. If someone is buying a minivan chances are they’re going to want a bunch of storage for snacks, tissues, cell phones, Wipes, and all sorts of other little things. The carnival was very lacking in this area to the odyssey and other minivans.
I love the Carnival but I've lost all confidence in Kia/Hyundai products. 😢
What's the reasoning?
Say more please
The New '22 and up Kias are a beautiful new animal
Fully loaded no tv's for the kiddos 🙄don't want the middle seat and wanted to view more of the back
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this vehicle is targeted towards a certain few demographics. A big one, being moms. As a mom, I'd like the features from a mom perspective.....
that resolution of the camera is terrible compared to GM. No excuse...if Chevy can do it.
They should've put a third row camera as well. Because this car is for big family with at least 4/5 kids. If you have three kids you can buy a sedan or small to mid size suv.
it looks like an suv. I don't do mini-vans. me like!!
All that piano black is a turn off and a damn shame since i like the vehicle
Piano black is visible in all Kia Products, it brings elegance if will taken care off. You can see how nice it looks like but to maintain it is quite challenging.
NEJMA OVE KIA CARNEVAL NA EU TRZISTU
korean Dsds car
Van, Sorry MPV is very nice. Friends has it, love some of features. Safety features should be standard by now on all models. I can see trim levels for seats, sunroofs, infotainment etc. but I gotta comment on the driver, presenter. You should never ever, with more that a curve in the road drive/turn with one hand or cross your hands. You really should demonstrate proper driving while doing these videos. Shuffle steer on 90 degree or more turns. Never, ever let you trail hand pass 12 o clock. Which means if you’re turning right your left hand should not go past 12 o’clock. You should shuffle to where your hands primarily stay at the 8 and 4 during a turn at the most at the 10 and 2. Not only is this best for control, but allows room for airbag if deployed. Our driver training has gotten so horrible. I was high speed, pursuit driving instructor. Even if not trying to drive at higher speed, if your in a turn and and animal, or human comes across road or wet conditions cause you to slide or incoming traffic crosses lanes, you over hand technique will not work. Just an FYI
Amazingly low fuel economy in 2024, wow!
If the truth be told I’d like one but if there was ever an EMP all these nice vehicles would just stop dead in their tracks.
They lost me at the fuel economy below 20 in the city… I’d rather stick to the 36 mpg sienna
You talk way too fast. Slow down
terrible design
Looks nice, but no AWD 👎😡
