- I have no idea how I keep making these videos longer than the last one.
Okay so, this definitely did not go the way I thought/wanted it to go, but I figured there is no sense in trashing this whole video just because of the way it ends. I'd say overall I really did like Minecraft PSX, just whatever mod added Phantoms to the end was literal hell as you will see. I thought I had other stuff to say in this description but I've apparently forgotten everything now that I'm writing it all out.

the reason people enjoy your Minecraft videos so much is they aren't targeted at children, it doesn't feel like you're talking down to us or playing anything up, it feels genuine and that's something Minecraft content is missing even though there's still plenty of adults and older teens who still desire quality Minecraft content

Haven't watched the video yet, but I got a good idea of how it's gonna end. Yeah...sorry about that lol. Right now, the dragon is basically immune to melee because of a dumbass optifine bug. It'll be fixed in the next update. There's another bug with optifine which makes it so the dragon doesn't turn red when you hit it. I hate optifine. The goal is to completely replace it with a selection of alternative mods. Hopefully that'll be done by 2.0, as that will be the final update to this modpack. Thank you all for playing this stupid pack of mine, the support means a lot to me.
Honestly I kinda just got whooped in the end, it wasn’t even due to any sort of bug. The combination of mods I just don’t know, low render distance and the controller just made dealing with everything feel unreasonably difficult. Overall though I thought the modpack was great, literally like nothing else I’ve played

Hell to that, it's all because the game generated a 0-Eye Frame for you, and broke *_half_* of your Eyes of Ender during your journey for the Stronghold when you started with 14 of them. You did nothing wrong, the game's RNG just chose to pick you up by the scruff of the neck and smash you face-first into the toilet.
Lowkey feel bad for you towards the end, like you genuinely just seemed like you were done with this.
just finished watching the video and im not disappointed in you. i had an enjoyable experiencing listening to you and im not sad you didnt beat it. the end looked beyond horrible to do and the fact you kept going in despite you have nothing left takes a lot lul.
the mod pack has a bunch of shit that doesnt make it "scary" just more annoying and hard which sucks. proud of you for getting that far. you make good stuff. (also i did watch the reddit video lmao. i enjoy whatever you and your friends do.)

Genuinely liked the vibes of this modpack in the first part until the "Slip". The Insanity mod being extremely toned down until you access the Slip and it just being an active part of gameplay after that is bad. Why is this touted as a lost retro Minecraft with ooky-spooky elements if it's just gonna drop that act and go full Minecraft "horror" the moment you progress past the Overworld? This doesn't even mention the buggy backport of The Warden making it so that it can spawn anywhere underground so long as sculk is nearby. And then the end...what even was that? Phantoms? What are they adding to The End...? 🤔 Overall it would be cool to see a modpack like this that is WAY more subtle with the ooky-spooky stuff. From the Fog and Distant Friends for the glitch players, and maybe a resource pack that bitcrushes the sfx more. I enjoyed the series, but hearing how painful the whole second half of this video was should show how off-putting modpacks like this can be.
There's this new horror mod called the Silence. It's extremely loud and fails to be scary :(

Kind of commenting off of what you were talking about half way through the video. I played alpha when they were coming out as well and I remember I spent my first night ever in a little dirt hole terrified of the monster sounds outside. Cut to 2020, I get nostalgic for old Minecraft and play an old beta release. Specifically 1.3 since that was the time I got my legitimate account. I built a little house, got some iron and some diamonds really quickly and ran out of things to do and just went back to my modern version world. I remember it being so much harder to find diamonds, but that's clearly because I was just scared of the caves as a kid, but now it's easy, and now that I already know what's down in the caves, I know Herobrine isn't actually real, old Minecraft doesn't have that same mysterious feel anymore to me. It's just bare. That's not to say it wasn't super fun back then. It's just now that I know I could be enchanting armor and tools, using a lot more blocks in creative ways to decorate my structures with, and going into the nether isn't completely pointless, I would kinda just rather play modern Minecraft.

Overall I'd just like to say great job. Even though the editing is "lacking" by today's standards, your commentary doesn't really warrant any additional flourishes or flashy things to aid it. It's really casual, soothing, and enjoyable. Your emotions come through clearly, composed, without being played up for laughs, jokes, or a simple lack of that composure, which makes you rather unique, and neat to listen to and watch. I think you have fantastic potential as a variety content creator, though, personally, I'm partial to the survival style exhibited here. Would love to watch you play Don't Starve at somepoint :)

Hey man, I haven't tried it yet, but if you consider playing old versions of minecraft, Better Than Adventure might be something that you want to look at.

i don't think it's a bad thing that you didn't beat the end, phantoms are genuinely the worst mob in minecraft and at that point i probably would've just removed the mod that buffs them. this video is a delight to watch because of how chill your voiceover is and i will be subbing and checking out your other stuff.

Would love to see further content from you. And on the offchance that you do decide to give this painful modpack one last shot, I suggest going to the nether to get wood for tools 😅

I BEAT IT and I just found out how.
You have to completely ignore the crystals and get a bow with enough enchantments, along with stacks of arrows. Bring some healing potions as well, and gaps. Just keep shooting and hopefully not miss too many shots, and you'll do it.
It sucks with the render distance but it is beatable. I suggest you get an end chest with diamond armor from the armor smith and some extra tools and arrows in case you die and lose your gear.

The Minecraft Beta idea you had seems like it would be better if it wasn't a lets play like this and From The Fog, and instead a backburner project that would become a video cataloguing the experience and seeing if the different versions are truly "unsettling" through your point of view.

While I was playing with my friend we got to the end and were also unable to beat the ender dragon. Even if you were to destroy all the end crystals I don't think you can even hurt the ender dragon, the only way you can kill it is with commands. The world also crashed mid way through fighting the ender dragon.
Its possible. You must use a bow with a fuckton of enchantments and ignore the crystals completely.

I've been having a great time in release 1.1
Keeping a small render distance can make things a bit unnerving, but tiny render distance is just annoying for me. I like how lonely the game feels since there are much fewer structures in the game. The world feels very personal due to the lack of life. I've only seen one village, and it isn't in my regular world. The lack of blocks has really made me think about how I am going to build and decorate. I think the only thing I seriously miss is item frames and maps. Also, the art style feels a lot more cohesive and less muddled than modern textures to me. Almost all combinations of blocks look fine enough together. I'd never used sand in a house before playing 1.1.
Caves can be a bit scary, but that's mostly because I'm bad at Minecraft even though I've been playing for 10ish years. The lack of a dedicated run button really makes caving more challenging. I definitely love the sound design. The creeper explosion sound effect is so good. Trap door behavior is really whack.
Tl;dr: old Minecraft is definitely fun. If you prefer modern Minecraft, playing 1.1 or something will make you appreciate modern features more.
