+Nandakishore N hey buddy I have gone through the entire comment section and My God you are so pissed off with Delhiites, why? All your comments and replies, if not all than most of them, are about bashing Delhiites and looking down upon us. Visit us sometimes mate, we aren't that bad. There are pricks everywhere but so are the good guys. Don't form an opinion around us based on the fragment of population that you may have seen. :) Peace bro.P.S. +sameed ahmad Faruqui I truly acknowledge Ur sentiment. Well, I must add that when there's a debate and discussion the sentiments do fly high and sometimes might look magnified.
      :)
I must add that I've repeatedly made it clear that I had *NOTHING* whatsover against DELHIITES.
My FIRST point was *How to spot a Delhiite*. Well, Delhiites speak in HINDI unlike others who speak in even local tongue.
      :)
My SECOND point was I was mainly talking about those who visit our cities. NOT those who live in Delhi.
      :)
Further in the discussion I did mention something about how in general we've seen the Hindi leadership and population look down upon NON-Hindi population.
      :)
Well, *Dehaati* is NOT exactly a NEGATIVE comment is it? :)

Delhi is bounded by four states namely Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh that have a strong influence on the lifestyle of Delhi. Delhi is a cosmopolitan city where people are open to embracing new ideas and life style. You can notice the transition in the demography of people in Delhi with the changing lifestyle and the influence of modern ideas in the lives of Delhites. People from all parts of the country live in Delhi which makes the city very cosmopolitan in mature and there is unity among the citizens from all caste and creed. This "Unity in Diversity" can be seen in social and cultural gatherings where people from all communities can be seen on one platform sharing one common view. Be it Holi, Diwali, Id, Guru Purab or Buddha Purnima; you will find the same vigor and bliss among people from different communities.

I'm from lucknow and on my visit to mumbai, the moment i landed at Chhatrapati shivaji railway station i was....shocked, they were very loud. like legit i felt like i was in fish market. not whining but this is what i saw. and on my visit to delhi, it was loud too but lesser than what i had experienced in mumbai.
i like both cities but i like delhi more.
also, ive lived in delhi for 5 years.....from all that ive experienced , all those 5 years i spent in delhi were magical. it has been 10 years since we shifted from delhi and still i couldnt let go off of those meories i made in delhi. i wish i could relive it.

Okay so I'm a born and bred Delhite, who now unfortunately lives in Bombay and while Bombay people are great and the city isn't so bad either, one thing that constantly pisses me off is how people from Bombay frequently say that "people from Delhi always dress up" and "people from Delhi are always so concerned about their outfit", like it's a bad thing. Why in the world is that a bad thing?? There is nothing wrong with wanting to present yourself a certain way and wanting to look nice. Not that it's not okay to be casual but ffs, stop making it sound like putting in a bit more effort in the morning and wanting to look a certain way is a bad thing. Because it's really not.

People speak better english AND hindi there...the politics and governance in Delhi is much better than Maharashtra's. Delhi had the metro wayyy before Mumbai could even think about it. Well, I'm neither from Delhi nor from Mumbai.... so I won't be biased at all in this case...
Delhi guys are loud no doubt about that.... They have immense confidence and lot of attitude.... Kamal ke jugaad lagathe hai yeh log... Abusive.... yes they are.... What I truly admire about Delhi guys is that their subtle control over things.... I mean in front of elders their tone is diff............ I went to meet a frnd... he was with his family... during lunch he was like.. Arey Yogi bhai ko salad pass karo... and then when we were alone he was like "Aur batha Yogi behen**** kya ho raha hai life mein...? All well..?" ....... I was like wtf...
Delhi gals are super cute... they are very polite in their talks... But don't know why they call every other rikshaw guy or shopkeeper as bhaiyya... Nevertheless, they can bargain really well... and are street smart....

Yaar! Hayeeeeeee! Two words Delhi is famous for. And then, we do speak loud, that's a difference in the cultural aspect. Abusive...? I wouldn't say that. It's only when people are comfortable with someone that they can use abusive language normally in their presence and stuff. I personally don't use abusive language (I'm a Delhiite). Our Hindi has a more punjabi-ish touch. Like, we stretch our vowels. Eg, *normal person:* mujhe tumse baat nahi karni, tumhara dimaag kharab ho gaya hai. *Delhiite:* muje tumse baaaat ni karni, tumara dimaag khraaab ogya ae.

I have been to Mumbai and Banglore this year. I did not get a chance to meet with lot of people in either of cities how ever when it comes to Delhi yes!! i accept people are more show off here, they care about themselves moreover their cars as well.
Hospitality of Mumbai is better than Delhi, But trust me Delhi is Delhi no city in India is better than delhi for all over opportunites to explore.

+Old Delhi Films It's because mumbai people are so obsessed with delhiites whereas we don't even give a damn about Mumbaikars. explains why you didn't get much reaction. Delhiites have a 'character, a persona' the reason why we stand out of the crowd! :)
