- Dancers Marge and Gower Champion, were the definition of Poetry In Motion. Married October 1947, divorced 1973. These three uploads celebrate their appearance in LOVELY TO LOOK AT (1952), one of only 7 movies that they were in together. These movies were done from 1950 to 1955. It's interesting to note that Lovely to Look At is a remake of the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie ROBERTA. High class, high energy, very stylish, Marge & Gower defined dance in their era. A great very high energy dance scene, the last 30-40 seconds are just awesome. Set your player to 720(HD) and larger screen to enjoy these videos.

I can't stop watching this dance sequence. Marge & Gower Champion were exceptional dancers...absolutely mesmerizing!
RIP Marge Champion. You were truly incredible in the art of dance.
The dancing is superb! But Gower is just gorgeous and such a great treat to watch!!
What maniac would dislike this clip???
So great, and so so gorgeous, both of them. It's no wonder women (and men) fell for Gower like autumn leaves. And Marge was and is as charming and talented as they come!
One of my all time favorite dance number!!!! wonderful danced, choreographed and filmed.
Absolutely love Gower Champion; he was true beauty in both
form and function. For me he was THE reason to watch this
pair perform.
This difficult dance number shows the best of their abilities as extremely talented dancers.....what a great video!
Sept.2: Happy birthday Dancer-actress Marge Champion. Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload, vegas1a. Blessings

Happy Birthday Gower !!
It's a WOW!
Seen in the original Technicolor this sequence is AMAZING! There should be a blu-ray! The whole fashion show finale is dazzling.
世界観がよい。スリリングで上品で、ゴージャス。素敵!!!
Marge and Gower Champion makes me remember Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Like clones.
Ginger could never do those Marge Champion moves.
For some amazing Champion numbers see the little known MGM musical, JUPITER'S DARLING, especially the number with ELEPHANTS!
so stylish and clever!
Happy 100th Birthday to MARGE CHAMPION tomorrow Sept 2nd
I see one person lost their mind and hit the dislike button by accident.
It was Cyd Charisse who hit the dislike button.
Bower was so handsome
The film, "Lovely To Look At." Gower & Marge Champion's performance was outstanding. In my opinion, the best dancing partners ever to appear on the big screen. Forget Astaire & Ginger Rodgers. Marge maybe very short & not so glamorous as Ginger, but she was a better dancer. Gower was much taller than Fred & more handsome & his hair was full & natural, & his hair line was not receding like Fred's. I suspect Fred was wearing a hairpiece. Gower can match Astaire's elegants & Kelly's energy & athleticism. In my opinion, that makes Gower the top dancer. I rest my case. Golden words of appreciation of the golden years of spectacular Hollywood musicals many decades ago with real talented performers. You dont see that today. Golden words by Peter E. Farrar
Great performance & I dig the red & green color scheme, but what's w/ those antlers?? The spotlight's jagged edge distracts me, too (picky, picky!).
John P. Jones : Vincente Minnelli directed the fashion show. Red was his favorite color.

RED!
how do they call that sort of dance?
The basic step is Jive, some parts are Cha-Cha. My wife and me also love to mix those dances---not too sophisticated, and looking great *. . .*
8 dumbs down ??? 🤔 you 8 get also 👎
