  • Fustration with rear Bearings replacment on 2012-2016 Lincolin 2.0L Hybrid MKZ same as Ford Fusion Hybrid both with front wheel drive only. Parts listed incoreectly at all Parts suppliers. Removing bad bearing and changing damaged sensor. Bearings are almost always Oxidation Fused due to dissimilar metals and high water/salt contact. The speed sensor is cheap and should be replaced with new bearing. The sensor hole will have to be prepared by drilling out all the oxidation and making the sensor hole just a little larger. Total job should take only 30min per wheel and is 100% DIY. Ford and Lincoln will charge 2 service hours per axle at between $150 and $225 per hour. The parts per axle should (in 2024) be approximately: $95 for Bearing and $45 for sensor or $140 total.
I took the opportunity to change the rear brake rotors and pads with my $600 to $1,000 savings by doing it myself. Rear Rust-Proof rotors and ceramic pads are outstaning.
NOTICE: This auto must be put in "brake service mode" before doing any of this work. A scantool is not required. This auto has electronic assist brake calipers and in order to compress the pistons the electric screw must retract.
PRO-TIP: Reassemble all bolts and bearings with silicone RTV of any color. This will remove the spaces that would normally fill with water and oxidize. As an added bonus RTV will also act as a lubricant when assembaling and secure all bolts once it has cured. RTV has more give then LocTite and when it comes to re-disassembling RTV will not require any special tools.
