One of Hollywood's preeminent male stars of all time (eclipsed, perhaps, only by "King" Clark Gable and arguably by Gary Cooper or Spencer Tracy), and the cinema's quintessential "tough guy", James Cagney was also an accomplished--if rather stiff--hoofer and easily played light comedy. James Francis Cagney was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City, to Carolyn (Nelson) and James Francis Cagney, Sr., who was a bartender and amateur boxer. Cagney was of Norwegian (from his maternal grandfather) and Irish descent. Ending three decades on the screen, he retired to his farm in Stanfordville, New York (some 77 miles/124 km. north of his New York City birthplace), after starring in Billy Wilder's One, Two, Three (1961). He emerged from retirement to star in the 1981 screen adaptation of E.L. Doctorow's novel "Ragtime" (Ragtime (1981)), in which he was reunited with his frequent co-star of the 1930s, Pat O'Brien, and which was his last theatrical film and O'Brien's as well). Cagney's final performance came in the title role of the made-for-TV movie Terrible Joe Moran (1984), in which he played opposite Art Carney. 2 years later Cagney died from a heart attack following illness from diabetes on March 30, 1986 at the age of 86.

There are all good but James Cagney was the actual real deal 🐐 & the original gangster actor , he grew up in the hood & in a actual street gang when street gangs literally fought with knives & bats & anything u could find , he s literally were all ur favorite actors got their style from wether it was Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci or even 2pac , they all worshiped JC & even did Michael Jackson who literally stoled his slide dance move & fedora hat swag he always wore like in the Smooth Criminal video from JC plus Cagney was the first real gangster actor & the only one to actually punch & slap ppl for real in his films wether it was a man or woman & hes the only actor to get shot at by live ammunition/bullets in every single movie he played in because they didn't have prop guns or blanks ammo in films back in the 1930's!!!! He was the actual real deal & the most believable gangsta actor because he actually lived that life before fame & after fame !!!! He was the original 🐐 thats why he could act , sing , dance & beat somebody's ass !!!! I was literally the full package wit no faking anything ❤
Just watch any of his films
