- After almost 2 months off Freya goes back to Physical therapy and absolutely loved it. Freya goes to physical therapy for her rare syndrome that causes developmental delays, but just like with everything else we took a break over the holidays.
Freya couldn't have had a Better Family ❤
Freya always looks so adorable!❤
Love her smile!
Freya looks so grown up in this video. It’s so beautiful to see her walking❤❤
Freya was in such a happy mood and she is getting so vocal. So glad that y’all make special memories with your other kids so it’s not all about Freya.
From my perspective & it’s only based on your videos but all I see is Freya propelling herself all over the floor! That girl loves to move! She is really getting stronger. Just in the last year her core is strong! I wish my core was as strong as hers! lol you asked so I’m just giving my input, Mom & Dad make the best decisions ❤
She does great getting around. The wheelchair would be for outings. Wheel chair users do not have to be in them full time.
Freya just gets cuter and cuter! Her little jeans and sneaker combo had me squealing. Precious little soul - she's just the bee's knees, is Freya. She sure is strong. She made that walk during physical therapy look effortless (I know it must be hard work for her though). She's getting stronger!
She is making those brain connections. It is looking a lot easier
Your husband is so sweet!!! He is such a fun Dad to the children!!!!! Freya is doing wonderful trying to walk!!!!🙏☀️🙏☀️🙏
Her little arm still looks swollen. She’s adorable in her jeans!! Sooo cute!!
Freya's laugh just makes my day! Super precious! All your kids are the best! You are the best Mom!❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
Look at her walk!
Such a wonderful family. Freya looks so tall in today's outfit.
I know!! Her PT mentioned that she must have grown since he last saw her
It was good to see Chris, Liam, and Jessie out having a good time together. Freya, lying in your closet fast asleep, was super precious. Loved her jeans outfit. Freya was a Chatty Cathy today. It’s nice to see her so happy. Luckily you, Fiona, and Jessie were able to spend time together, on your ‘mommy date’. It was an extra pleasant day for all. Enjoy your weekend. 😊
Freya’s happy smile touches my heart. You do a wonderful job with your children!
Every time I see that cute smiling face I can’t help but smile. She is so precious….❤❤❤❤❤ And she is doing so awesome…
Freya in her jeans and sneakers! I can’t even!!! She is too cute!
Right?! They are the most bum scoot proof so she wears a lot of jeans lately
Great to see the happy Freya. She was so excited to see her therapist. I would ask her therapist what he recommends. I love your one on one time with the oldest children. I love the gymnastics. ❤❤❤ have a great weekend.
Omg😱Look at that cutie patootie with jeans, and cute sneakers❤ U go girl!!!💕💜
Right?!
I'd suggest the stroller. She'll understand its purpose while also understanding that her independence still means ultimately getting on her own two feet.
She is so cute ❤
Good watching you guys making those memories.. ..they are so important to make. A friend of mine lost her husband a couple months ago......they had 2 kids, one a senior in highschool the other a freshman. Tomorrow is not a guarantee, so take that video take those pictures 😁😁😁😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎋
Sorry to hear that
I love that smile you are so sweet and cute ❤😂😊
❤ sweetie ❤
In the beginning of this vlog Freya was the cutest I’ve ever seen her. She has the best sense of humor. I think she could learn to operate an electric wheelchair.
She was in such a great mood
I was about Freya's age when I got my first wheelchair and it was self propelling but of course, I don't have the limb difference that she does. As far as strength to push a wheelchair there are power assist wheels so if someone is weaker in the arms or one side over the other they can still self propel. Even with my wheelchair I still walked with crutches, then a walker and braces for 7 years until my back surgery. The thing with an adaptive stroller is it won't give Freya and opportunity to learn to self propel or navigate independantly and as she gets older I promise she's not always gonna want mama or anyone tagging along. They may not give her a scooter yet but 2 possibilities are a power stander, which is essentially like her gait trainer but has a joystick and runs by battery. The other is a power chair. It's probably likely that by the time she's a teenager or young adult she may be a part or full time wheelchair user which most likely will be a powerchair to accommodate the limb difference and give her freedom and independence. If that's an option it might be your best one long term.
Thank you for your advice!
@@Freyasluckyarm Kindly Welcome. Saw your other video where you mentioned about wheelchairs simply being mobility aids, loved it. People don't realize how ableist and damaging it is on our mental health and well being that the idea of walking being the end all be all is.
She is doing so good and she is so vocal and she is getting around very good. She is so beautiful
I'm not a medical professional but I think it will be very hard for Freya to propel a wheel chair due to her limb difference, also you can't lean a wheelchair back if she wants to sleep like you can a stroller. I always enjoy your videos, you are such a wonderful family! 🥰
Her smile is beautiful. I love to see her happy.
We had the same decision to make 11 years ago and we did a wheelchair because Leia was going to school and needed to be locked down on the bus and strollers don't have lock down equipment on strollers. It took us 10 years to save for a wheelchair van because you have to purchase the van and it has to be only 3 years old to have the wheelchair lift put in the van and of course you have to have a certain van model also we live in NC and Leia is on CapC which is a state Medicaid program. Hope this was helpful. Love Margaret ❤️
Thank you so much!
My guess is a stroller would be more comfortable for Freya and easier to take with you.
I need a power chair to get around and they are not real comfortable and they are trouble getting them loaded but I thank God for mine.
I have worked with clients who have used the adaptive stroller and a wheelchair. I like a wheelchair is better because it allows for the child to be comfortable and supported while having the ability to be independent. The adaptive stroller is lightweight but it is no way for the child to have independence. I feel like freya loves to do things herself and the chair would allow for her independence
I completely agree. Thank you
The physical therapist may be able to get a representative from the stroller company and wheelchair company to come to the therapy center and do a evaluation on Freya. There are adaptation devices that can be put on a manual wheelchair that allows a one armed person to propel it on their own
Yes this is our plan. Thank you. We just needed the order from our doctor which we got this week
Oh my goodness how cute does Freya look in those trendy little jeans and sneakers! ❤️ xx
Since you ask for our opinion here is mine Freya is still so young and small if you could get like a high rise stroller I feel like she would benefit from that better she could still sit up and see everything going on and it would be easier to take places, with her lucky arm she will probably have a hard time trying to use a wheelchair for now evan a year from now,I could see her in a wheelchair at around 6 or 7 when she might be a little bigger and stronger that is just my opinion ❤❤
I would think Freya could manipulate an electric wheelchair when she is older.
You have the sweetest family. Jesse and Fiona had a great time.
Omg I love when she belly laughs. She was so excited!!! You guys are wonderful!!!
Look at Freya go she is doing really good. That's awesome
See if they have a sample for her to try out. Check the weight and fold up for you and the family. Check the room in the Van or car. To see how it fits. Get all the bells and whistles now if insurance is paying. Can get a replace until 5 years . Make sure it can get through doorways. Can’t fall forward or backwards. You have a hand control in the back for you. If you need to charge for battery or not. Have a brake to stop. All I can think of at this point. Good luck! You got this !
Thank you. I didn’t realize it was 5 years.
i'm 32 with cerebral palsy. way different than CdLS. yes, but I've had both an adaptive stroller and a manual wheelchair, PERSONALLY, i would go with the manual wheelchair because it supports her better.
Thank you so much for your advice. It’s so good to hear from people with first hand experience
Freya is rocking the jeans!! Looks so gorgeous xxx
Renting the equipment for a week or two would be a good idea so you’ll know if you/Freya likes it. Although I wonder if that that would be adequate time to find out.
0:53 "but of course it's a shoe, what else does one put on a hand?" 😂❤
😂
Love how you find time to spend with your other children😇Maybe ask your physical therapist for ideas concerning wheel chair or stroller. Maybe they have a special needs catalog🩷🩷🩷
That was a fun video! Seeing Chris with the kids and you with the girls. And Freya was so so happy!! She looks so cute in her jeans and I can’t believe how well she is trying to walk!! ❤
It was fun to see and hear Freya all full of toddler energy. It is so great to have the college sporting events to attend. See you in your next video !! 😊
Hi Marcy. Your hair looks great and Freya is adorable...xx
Thank you so much
She is a cutie! Good job Freya!
Happy girl today Freya, it looks like you had a great day. Good job walking you are very clever.
She is so precious
It is so cute to watch Freya booty scooting across the floor. My niece did the same thing .
I love the bum scoot
She is doing so good
Marci, both of you look beautiful today. Freya is certainly in a great mood. Ooh, Sour Patch gummies. My favorite. Corn Nuts too. Jessie is such a beautiful Girl too. Your Son is a Mini of your Husband. Excellent job Marci. Cute and friendly kids. We dodged the predicted snowstorm in NJ. Thank goodness. It went further South this time. Have a great weekend, see you tomorrow. Love you, me 💋😉💗🧑🏻🦳
Freya was so happy today❤ She has grown since last video it looks like❤,or was it just her outfit? I loved her jeans❤ Those were fun family time events. That would be so fun. I like all the gymnastics sections as well😀.
Hello Marci great video, Freya was and is a little star. We went down the route of an adaptive stroller for our Grandson and I must say it made life a whole lot easier. They fold a little better than a wheelchair for transportation, plus they are more ergonomic for pushing around, wheelchairs tend to be lower down when pushing them. This meant overall every member of the family could be involved doing the pushing. I hope this helps. Freya was so vocal and on top form today. I look forward to the future for Freya I really do.
Thank you so much!
She is definitely taller, and the walking is taking off. So talkative today, little Miss.
She is so so cute!!
Great walking Freya!
Love to see the hyped up side of Freya! No wonder why she just crashed in the closet.
She was so excited!
In my opinion I would get a more supportive seating in a large wheel wheelchair or even look to a powered chair that you can use manually as well as training her to drive it herself in the future but continue her gait training at home. You need to look after your back as well as Freya’s. Just a couple of suggestions but research different seating options and work with her therapist
FREYA VERY PRETTY AND YOUR HAIR STYLE IS VERY NICE
Love to see all the individual time that is given to the children. You are an amazing family. Freya is progressing so well. Love that beautiful smile! Just wondering, what does Chris teach at the university? Being a retired educator, it is always interesting to see what others choose. Love you all.
Pat from cold Michigan!
He doesn’t teach. He is in the business side of the university.
Great job at PT Freya!! :)
Great video such fun times with both parents❤
Hi Marci. I love seeing how happy and excited Freya was to go back to physical therapy. I also think that you and Chris spending quality time with the other kids is wonderful. Anyone watching can see that they appreciate the love and attention. I do have a couple of questions. When Chris took Liam and Jesse to the basketball game, where was Fiona? Did she stay home with you and Freya? I love watching you guys. Have a good weekend.
She did. She didn’t want to go to the game so she stayed home. We put Freya to bed and then watch National Geographic
@@Freyasluckyarm
As I have said before, you are a great mom.
Thank you
Do they have equipment that she could try out? She is so tiny I would think the adaptive stroller sounds best for now.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Gros bisous de France 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
❤😊❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Delightful to see the whole fam! Great for Dad and Liam to have man-time! And when I was a little girl, I wanted to be a ballerina, or an ice skater, or a gymnast. Do your girls have any of those desires? As for Freya, she may be small, but she’s looking tall at the same time. Her laughing was so cute. I have little knowledge of what Freya’s transport should be, but if she could propel herself in a wheelchair eventually, seems like that would be most enjoyable for her. But maybe possibly unsafe at the same time? Bless your family, and be well!
They both take a gymnastics class and love it
💌
I think the wheel chair cause this girl is a go getter. She will walk someday, but its going to take time. And she would probably get tired at first. I see her propelling herself.
Thank you!
Freya is doing great - have you thought about an adaptive tricycle for her - maybe she’s still too small though. Great evenings out with the kids!
It seems to me that the experts who will 'fit' her for whatever you choose will help you/Freya try different things and I think it's worth trying the wheelchair.
😅I'm in a manual wheelchair and love it so I have the option to move itt myself .I'd recommend a wheelchair.
Thanks for the tip!
I have a wheelchair
Freya is really 'full of beans' in this video. 🤣😂
She also looks taller. Has she grown or is it because she is standing up so much taller & straighter?
She has grown 2 inches!
Are you thinking power where chair? Or would she not be able to understand the concept of the controller.
For my son, who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, we started with a stroller but when he was three we wanted him to have his independence and went ahead with power chair. Best decision ever.
I am thinking Manual. I’m not sure with Freya’s intellectual disability that they would give her a power one.
My 2 cents is; to get the stroller because she won’t be ready for the wheelchair to propel herself for a couple years in the future…
Is there a way you could either borrow or rent the stroller or wheelchair for a week or so? Hopefully if this is possible you would be able to make a clearer decision. My best to you and your beautiful family.
I don’t think so. I wish there was a program like this
@@Freyasluckyarmwhat do her therapists at school recommend, what does she use there?
@@andreacarlile-thompson2511 she mostly crawls and uses a gait trainer. I’m not sure if that will change.
Good morning
I HAD PT AND OT AS A CHILD AND IT DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL.
😊❤❤❤❤❤❤xxxx
Can you rent a piece of equipment before you buy? This might be helpful to decide ❤
Not that I have heard of. That would be very nice
Will Freya ever talk??
Probably not, but it is not known for sure
♥️♥️♥️🥰🫶 girls night out.
Im in a wheelchair if u would like to talk let me know
Seriously friend, if you look like the actress Milla Jovovich 10:06
Wow! Thank you
😂😂😂😂😂
I'd go with the wheelchair once she learns she can move herself, she would go wild xx
