The Android 11 update for the Sony Xperia 1 Mark II has many cool new features such as the External Monitor app ( • How to use External Mo... ). In this video we'll cover the updates to the camera apps Photo Pro and Cinema Pro. The highlight features are 4K 120fps video and a Memory Recall (MR) mode for photos. Let's take a closer look and I'll provide some tips on how to best use these features.

In case anyone was wondering, I used food coloring and white glue for the shots. What comparisons do you want to see with the S21 Ultra?
The splashes looked great, and thanks for the helpful info!
Hi,great video. Can you do photo and video comparison with 1mk2 using photo pro app on auto and s21 ultra? Thx. All the best.
@@samantasingh3235 Thanks for watching!
@@regeponurr Thanks! Yes, I'm planning to compare both auto and manual results.
I was wondering about this mode
Really appreciate the video walkthrough
Thanks - glad it was helpful!
dont worry for having a small community. You are doing very very very good. Go ahead. I am with you.
Thank you for the support!
Ok so even I didn't know about that record button placement feature lolz.
It's a sneaky but helpful addition lol.
Nice work...1mkiii soon wonder if itll be worth it
Thanks! I'm curious to see the camera upgrades and if they will keep manual control on all rear cameras (even the periscope telephoto).
This is very helpful! I was wondering how to use MR, thanks for the clarity Supreet 👍
No problem - glad it was helpful!
I'm a bit confused about the project fps and the fps on top of ISO can you a content explaining it ? Thanks
Great video once again bro! 👍
Thanks man - nice to see you again!
@@SupreetMobile you're welcome 👍. Are you getting the 1 III?
Not sure - will be hard to resist if it gets all the rumored camera upgrades. You?
@@SupreetMobile yea I'll wait and see for the official reveal!
Hi, can you please make a video about how to take macro shot with xperia photo pro please? Thanks for your good work.
Yes, I’ll add a macro video to the list.
@@SupreetMobile Thanks a lot.
Hi. I updated to android 12 but dont have 120fps in video. How do you update this.
sony why not make a button for the selfie camera too in the pro apps
would you recommend shooting at 120fps if I'm planning a short film in which the clips all play backwards? i loved how yours looked !
Thanks for the compliment! What kind of clips will be in the short film? I would only use 120fps if there will be plenty of light in the scenes.
@@SupreetMobile thanks for the quick response, im a big fan of how you share your knowledge. the clips are mostly in an apartment and in cars, with one scene at the beach during night time
@@vi.ii.vi.studios9308 if there's alot of ambient light, that'll make a great vid but if it's going to still be a dark scene overall, it's going to be super difficult getting a nice shot
hi , i read that mcpro24fps shoots 10bit 4k/60 on xperia 1mk2 .. could u give it a try ??
this xperia looks total beast
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll add it to the list!
I was SOOO STOKED for the 4k 120fps but once I got the phone found out i can't use 4k 120fps. it ONLY works with the 24mm lens/sensor. you can't use it on the one i need. the 70mm :-( also what the heck is up with NOT being able to switch sensors while recording !! extremely annoying.
I hear you - 4K120fps would be great on all the sensors. I think it will come with time as smartphone sensor speeds continue to improve. If you want more reach with the 24mm you could try attaching an external lens, like a Moment tele (which would be about 50mm).
I wonder why when i a shoot video with cinema pro and then i upload anywhere (Instagram, facebook, youtube) it looks less colorful, as if it is faded. Do you know why?
That's likely because Cinema Pro records in HLG color, which is a HDR (high dynamic range) format. Those apps are likely expecting SDR (standard dynamic range) and when HDR footage is forced into SDR, it looks flat. You'll need to convert the footage to SDR using a video editing app or use a different app to film, such as Filmic Pro. Hope that helps!
this looks really cool. But can I then also export the 120fps videos natively without having them slowed down already?
I mean I can still accellerate them back to 120fps to have real time but that would save me one step.
Good question. Unfortunately that is limited by the project FPS, which maxes out at 60. This could change with a future update.
@@SupreetMobile ok great. Good to know. Anyway it will be easy to accellerate in post as I do my editing on PC.
My MK2 is on it's way and will arrive on monday. So Excited as I am upgrading from a 4 year old Xperia XZ
@@MarcFPV Awesome, that's quite the upgrade!
So they remove 60fps and replace 120fps? I wish they could just add and we got more choices
The 60fps option is still there in project settings.
Does it have manual focus peaking? Thanks. 👍
Unfortunately Cinema Pro does not, but tapping to set focus the point helps.
Difference between 120 fps (30/25/24?) With what project it would result more slowly?
Slower project frame rate (24fps) will give the slowest result. I would pick based on your target fps for the final video.
i just have the xperia 5 ii. it seems it doesnt save the settings for every mode it seems.. is this true?
I unfortunately don't have a 5 II to verify. Have you tried asking the Reddit group (www.reddit.com/r/SonyXperia/)? There are a bunch of helpful folks there that might know.
Please test the pro mode on the s21 5G I wonder is it as good as sony and LG
Will do - are you interested in manual photo or video or both?
@@SupreetMobile Photos
When you shoot in 4K 120FPS do you have any stabilisation?
I believe so.
Can you recommend an Android app that can edit cinema Pro videos without properly? With titles and transitions etc. Most of the apps destroy the video quality as they are not able to handle HDR videos and so they covert then into standard definition with washed out look
All editing apps on android and ios compresses the image .. You need to use pc apps like davinci or final cut pro for a quality result
@@munawrsa thanks a lot for the reply bro, I used Davinci resolve 16 for processing the video and might I say that the results were very pleasing 🙂
S21u, very nice. Definitely compare the manual modes between them.
That's going to be a fun showdown!
need to be able to make photos while shooting video
That would be a nice feature!
saving only one camera setting, or does it make a list of saves?
Just one
thanks. I'm on a bit of a sony rampage today, however don't you think that deserves some criticism? what use is there in having just one?
@@fallingwickets sure it would be nice to have 4 presets and name them (portait, indoor, landscape, etc)
But its the way of thinking. Even IF its lets say a portrait.. you often change some settings anyway. I dont think the settings take soooo much time we need real presets.
Just like the video says.. a quick jump to a familiair setting and maybe tweek it a bit and youre ok to go. Like astro, or water fountain or something like that.
@@BrbZrk_2 you're giving sony a pass which is fine, but having one preset is low energy uselessness on the part of sony. it's like a radio in the car....why have 12 presets when one will do....you're going to fiddle with the stations anyway
@@fallingwickets its true im giving Sony the pass. Because im a fanboy. :) If my logical and rational thinking would take over i would buy a Samsung. Honest.
Yes that s21 ultra that picks up the camera setup from Xiaomi mi 10 ultra has in my opinion the right selection of lenses. This setup truly can be useful from landscape, family photos, portraits to telephoto so yeah I am to impressed by it. But it's camera bump is too hideous. Xperia 1iii seems to be following the same setup, let's see if they can pull off another sleek phone with ultra zoom
Please make a video exposing lies about the galaxy s21 which the company and other websites claiming to be the fastest phone over 5G with 56 mbps while Xperia xz premium that ceame out 4 years ago has a speed of 760 mbps
MB or mb? there is a big difference ??
